    We have these bikes in New Zealand. My first 250 after getting my license was the older MC17 a 1987 CBR250R, it redlined at 18,000 rpm and had no limiter. I have had the Yamaha FZR250R as well it cost me $2000. I sold the CBR in the end for $1300 and the FZR i got my money back. I also had a rare Katana 250 4 cylinder, only 5 in New Zealand at the time. Basically a scaled down 750 in every detail very nice raspy F1 sound, I loved it.

      @@kerimca98 nah problem was it's too expensive to make four cyl 250's now. it costs practically the same to manufacture in terms of whole production-line as say a 600cc. as seen with the ZX-25 ($15k NZD???) the market just isn't there given today's economy. you can buy a new 2-cyl bike with similar performance and modern features for almost half the price. it's really a shame as they have so much character but it is what it is.

    • @EvnRain
      @EvnRain Před rokem

      @@jackmiller8851 the zx-25r is around 10K here and i'd say a 250cc 4cyl is still a viable purchase here considering the streets are fairly small and short, so you wouldn't really need a 600 or 1000, and prices of big bikes here are inflated due to taxes, upwards of 15k for a 600 cc, so the zx-25r is quite appealing-! at least for my region hahah and we would always welcome some competition. While i agree that it wouldn't be very reasonable for Honda, it'd still be very cool to see-!

I really wanted the Honda but a good deal on an FZR came up and to my knowledge the Fizzer was 2nd pick of the 4cyl 250's, little lighter and more agile with the tyre dimensions.

      Hi Jack, I haven't ridden on one, but I have seen one up close at a meet. The only thing I noticed was that the build quality looked cheaper than the Honda and the redline is 2000 rpm lower. Can't really say anything about it performance- and reliability wise though, but I'm guessing they're just as fun to ride as the MC22!

    • @LucHeijnen
      @LucHeijnen  Před rokem +2

      They are very, very rare in every country in Europe. You have 3 options, for each which you have to be very patient.
      Option 1: Keep your eye DAILY on local and international secondhand vehicle websites, such as AutoScout or De-Parking. I even got mine from a local website after 8 years of waiting and searching from a guy just 10km from my own home. I also say 'daily', because they can be gone in a day since the demand is so high.
      Option 2: Find a Japanese or Australian vehicle importer in your country. They should be able to source the vehicle you're looking for much quicker than yourself. It will cost you a lot of money and time though, because the importer will have to source several vehicles at once to fill shipping crates with, to reduce the total cost of the shipping to make their trade more feasible.
      Option 3: This is probably the fastest option, but the most expensive. Go to Japan or Australia yourself, buy one over there and arrange the shipping back to Slovakia yourself. You would need to get a shipping container for just one bike, so the shipping costs would probably exceed the cost of the bike itself.
      Tl;Dr: you need to be very patient and resourceful, or have a big bag of cash unfortunately 😅

      @@jasicjan You're welcome! Most normal maintenance and spare parts are easy to find. The MC22 shares quite some parts with common European Honda's. Some parts may be a bit more difficult to source, but not impossible.
      I've had the most help from CMSNL.com. They have an abundant database for all Honda OEM parts. They might not always have the part you're looking for in stock, but sometimes it helps by looking up the part number you require and throwing that into a Google search. Or you can look if a certain Euro Honda shares the same part number.
      Other sources I've found helpful are eBay.com, Yahoo Japan (yahoo.aleado.com/0-catlist.html) and my local Honda dealer. Official Honda dealers have international connections which you yourself will never find on the internet, so this has proven useful in the past for me :) They were for instance able to source an OEM clutch cover gasket from Italy.

      Hi there! Thank you!
      I am from the Netherlands and got this MC22 in mint condition for €6000 two years ago. They are very rare and wanted, so prices right now might even go up to €7000!

      Engine rebuild? Never needed to do that and don't hear it's needed often by other owners. Just perform all your yearly maintenance and warm the bike up properly before riding, then you don't have to worry about any rebuilds ever.

You said all the good things to keep the bike's healty but Propably we pushing really hard those bikes here, sometimes speeding over half an hour as almost full throttle on highway so about every 20000 km overhaul needed.
