It was over a year ago that we first ventured down to JCG Restorations and Customs in Oxnard, California. There we were introduced to owner Chris Gonzalas and a wicked 1968 Chevrolet Camaro that was owned by a gentleman named Karl Dunn, and aptly named, Blu Balz. Mother nature unfortunately didn't let us play that day, and because of that we vowed to give Mr. Balz another day on camera.

Where is the LOVE button at on here, this Camaro is FIYAAAAAAAA. Everything about this true muscle car is just incredible. This is the meanest and best sounding muscle car I have ever heard or seen. Oh my how I wish I could one day own a beautiful muscle car like this. Father GOD PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!! LOL. But I must say I do have 2011 Camaro SS that I have been blessed with and am very happy with it...

awesome car! perfect body mods, stance, and understated attitue. This is the perfect example of walking softly and carrying a big stick. Like you said mike, most people won't notice all the modifications.
Just watching the stiffness and ability of that car as it rips around corners is awesome. Def takes some doing to get the handling down in a car that year 😳. Amazing piece of work!!

What an absolutely stonking season opener! I've been looking forward to seeing this in action and you have not disappointed, if anything you've only whetted my appetite for the upcoming weeks.
Now, to the car. I completely concur with Mike, I can't see a single thing I would change ( I can even forgive the wheel because race car!). I would be fully interested in a video of this dicing with a 458 or 599 on a track, but, I know that isn't an easy thing to organise. It looks so planted and controllable, I bet it is a riot.
Final point, Karl seems like an utter legend. To not only build the car that he had in his head (keeping to his own strict design parameters) but to then offer it up to be driven hard by Mike whilst having cameras mounted all over it, that takes a real gent.
Roll on next week and the remainder of the season.

Glad to have Mike and Big Muscle back, but what this video needed was a solid chunk of time with no talking, helmet on hot lapping with screaming engine audio, rowing through gears and heel-toe rev matching. With a road course oriented car, an open course, and a guy asking Mike to stretch this things legs.. Yea I would have liked to see some no-sliding hard laps.
