OP I have learned a lot by watchinig your videos. I now have a pretty good idea of how all the body parts fit together on old mustangs. Don't know how to weld myself or do sheet metal work and don't have a workshop BUT at least I have a good picture in my mind of how these old cars fit together. Never too old to learn. Am also very happy about how these old mustangs appeal to young guys in their 20's just as they appeal to us old baby boomers. Obvious that you put in a LOT of hours every week in your shop.
Started to just do skins on my 69 and the more i dig the more rust ive found so im basically doing what you did. This video is a great help
Getting ready to pull the quarters off mine, Thanks for the great How To Video.
Great work as always ! ! !
can you convert a coupe to a fastback on a 69
About time you gave us another vid, these vids are my crack addiction.
Great work brother. From one body man to another 👍
I came across your channel by accident! This is so fascinating to see how the car was originally put together! I always wondered how they got those panels together without the seam showing. Keep up the good work!
Thanks for watching
I love what you do, keep up the great work!
Thanks for the info, would love to spend some time with you and learn, great video
Amazing work as always mate. The back end looks like the most work? I am lovin this series.
Good content and like the way you do your videos.
Thanks for the content.
Ben I hope you are wearing a respirator. Great info as always
Nice work seeing how far involved the work is restoring. Have you ever considered using an industrial Spot Welder used in the motor vehicle trade. Far easier than mig welds and grinding. However mig welding use where required if Inverter Welder can’t get to areas.
I was lucky when i started doing body work the guy app with was able to teach me lead work. I repair several 1930 and 1940 auto with lead and silver sodier i think it was 70/30 % and used a waxed paddle to smooth the lead. Hammer and a file to shape. ONLY HAD TO WORRY ABOUT THE FUMES.They had such skill back then .
Incredible...
Very nice job, what Lincoln welder are you using.
Wire brush works well with torch to remove roof lead.
I have heard 2 lines of thought when replacing the quater panel- 1) car on a jig or 2) with it on the ground and suspension to support. Which one is stronger as as Ive heard the body can creek when driving around corners. What do you find is better. Love the videos of all your work
If you hit the molten lead with a wire brush, brushing across the area, you'll get the lead out quicker. Less heat over all is needed.
What do you use to fill the leaded seams when you’re done?
I leave that one up to the painter
@@petersonrestorations doesnt a wire wheel put lead particles in the air?..
I need to replace a quarter panel on a 1966 mustang coupe what brand do you recommend I replace it with ?
Dynacorn
Brother can you upgrade it into 4 door while maintaining the perfect shape also??
I dont think so with that
