  • Unboxing the Huawei Watch GT 3 (46mm model), a premium smartwatch boasting some of the best battery life of 2021. This hands-on review covers HarmonyOS' main features, specs and other highlights of the Huawei Watch GT 3 and stay tuned for my full verdict, coming soon!
This smartwatch sports a stainless steel design, with a choice of two colours (there's three options for the 42mm model). You have a large AMOLED screen that's absolutely stunning, making the most of Huawei's colourful HarmonyOS UI. Performance is good and you get a great selection of fitness apps and tools.
The Watch GT3's TruSensor 5.0 Plus sensor means faster, more accurate heart rate tracking. You've also got upgraded GPS and the fresh Healthy Living Shamrock feature, for mental wellbeing.
My final review of the Huawei Watch GT 3 will be hitting Tech Spurt in a couple of weeks, but what do you reckon? Is this one of the best smartwatches of 2021, hot competition for the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4?

I'm still using the original GT. Worn it while doing construction in rain and hot sun, washing the cars, wood working and a few times in the shower(forgot it was on). This watch has held up outstanding and still has a week long or more battery life, I'll be waiting until the GT 4 since this one is holding up like a champ.

Shame the App Gallery isn't up to much. It's the main reason why you'd upgrade from the GT2. Also a shame the Voice Assistant requires a Huawei phone :(

As usual nice review. Cant wait for a comparison with a Samsung GW4 classic. I have an original huawei so looking for an upgrade. The one thing that might deter me from this new Huawei is no access to google apps /wear store. One more thing how is the vibration compared to the original watch?

More info on the included apps would be great as Huawai does not list them. Voice memo, email, calender etc. Also it can receive calls but can you dial out?

    • @sirius5159

Making and receiving calls I think should be the same as the GT2PRO, which requires a link to the phone.
Because it does not have esim function.

Since you tested both, what you prefer between GT 3 and Galaxy Watch 4? Galaxy has a super amoled screen but somehow it looks like the GT 3 is way better. Maybe the watchfaces are better there i dunno.

If youre looking for features galaxy watch 4 is a choice but if youre looking for classy look with a powerhouse battery that lasts for 2 weeks then huawe gt3 is the best choice. I just got my gt3 a week ago and never regreted it over galaxy watch 4 that only last for a day of use 😉

I always feel tempted by these OLED watches, but my Garmin Vivoactive 4s with it's memory LCD is simply so much more watch-like with its full always on screen...that I still haven't switched.

    • @heidar8432

I have Huawei Watch GT2. The AOD is awesome, you can check time everywhere, every time, without rising your hands. Actually for GT3 is better.

That is good, however, it does tend to reduce battery life from a week down to 48 hours. MIPS Displays can do always on Display and still last a week...but they don't look that pretty.
Also, on OLED watches, even if you do get AOD, it will be a different watchface than what you usually get ..which is unfortunate.
