Ingredients:
• 1 cup red or yellow lentils
• 1 onion (diced)
• 1 carrot (diced)
• 1 potato (diced)
• 2 tbsp butter (skip for vegan)
• 1 tbsp flour
• 3 tbsp olive oil
• 1 tsp turmeric (optional)
• 2 bay leaves
• salt to taste
• 1 liter hot water (adjust for desired consistency)
• Lemon wedges, paprika powder and olive oil to serve

Thats a good technique for washing the lentils in the strainer.
I like all the shapes of the vegetables, carrots are round the onions are rough chop and the potatoes are in half moons- but I see that you purred them.
Nice shot of opening the spice drawer and getting the paprika.

I would be minus a finger if I chopped the carrot as fast as you did 😁 Lentil soup is one of my favorites and this is something that I could see myself making in the future. Obviously what you made is more than just lentils, but I guess all of the vegetables is what makes it appealing to me.
It's really easy to make, just don't rush up with chopping :)

What do the bay leaves add to soup? Just asking because I’ve seen several soup recipes call for it. Thank you. Great video.
Bay leaves slightly enhances the aromatics in the soup and stews. We also use bay leaves to balance the smell of intense dishes, such as those with lamb fat etc.. Hope this helps.

This looks very good. I've been watching some of your videos and I have a question. Is cumin not used much in Turkish cooking?
Cumin is used quite a lot, especially for recipes in southern parts of Turkey and mostly for meats, kebabs and koftas.

We use lentils quite a bit at our house
In india we call it daal 😉😌😌
