- Even after successfully passing the global audition held by the largest Korean entertainment company and training with one of the most successful K-pop groups of its time, Henry’s debut to stardom was far from smooth. Henry faced strong opposition which even turned into protests and boycotts led by fans of the company. How to deal with the situation? How was Henry able to start from such a low point to being one of the most recognized household names in Asia?
Henry is a multi-talented star. He’s a singer, actor, producer, dancer, a classical violinist, pianist, and is even recognized as a Saatchi gallery artist. Henry continues to face many challenges on his path of creativity. What is Henry’s attitude towards those challenges? How to stay on top of creative pursuits? Henry Lau is an award winning singer, producer and actor. Trained as a classical violinist, Henry is best known for combining virtuosic classical elements with pop music in his performances. Henry started his career as a member of the Kpop group Super Junior M, and has since transitioned into a successful solo artist. In 2019, Henry starred in Hollywood movie “A Dog’s Journey” by Amblin Entertainment (Steven Spielberg’s studio) and Chinese blockbuster “Double World”. Most recently in late 2021, Henry’s set of pendulum paintings were showcased at Saatchi Gallery in London.
Henry is an alumnus of Berkelee College of Music. During first term, Henry was offered a full scholarship but later withdrew to continue his award winning music career. There's really nothing this guy can't do, seriously. Now he even does ted talk and he is definitely one of the best speakers out there. Really surprised that he can be such a good motivational and inspirational speaker. It was really a heart-rending moment when he said he was eager to show his debut performance to his parents but he couldn't because fans were chanting Henry out. I didn't know about this incident before. I'm not an SJ fan but he is the only member/ex-member that i truly know of because of his amazing talents displayed through many shows. I only started paying attention to him after watching him busking in the Korean program titled Begin Again 3 - Italy. He is a genius and so gifted. He can just spontaneously create some of the most beautiful music I've ever heard. Now, people are chanting "Henry in"!

I am sorry for Henry as he struggled in the beginning, but to me, it was the most beautiful element in shaping and nurturing Henry of today....as his father and family were supportive of him while he was having a hard time. .. In fact, I had longer experience with my trauma or rejection overseas than him.. but my family members didn't understand .... ...of course, I don't want to change my family with any body else but.... anyway, Henry has his guardian angel, too...I luv it.
