  • This is probably my most requested video. I just came back from a three year check up appointment (post fibroids procedure) and I thought this would be a good time to give you all an update on my fibroids, endometriosis, and overall fertility status. Please let me know if you have any questions in comments and I will do my best to answer as many of them as possible.

You are such a strong woman and role model. This is such a common condition that isn’t spoken about. Women who are going thru the same will look up to you as an inspiration. Stay positive.

I'm 66 years old and my extentsive endometreosis was discovered during a myomectomy for fibroids in my early 30's. It certainly explained the agony I had experienced every month since I was in college. By then, my fertility was severely compromised. The surgery I had relieved a good share of my symptoms, although I had some adhesions that formed as a result. I ended up going through early menopause at age 45 and it was fine with me, because it was a new lease on life! I'm glad there are new treatments for fibroids. The lesson I learned was that you really have to advocate for yourself and find a doctor who takes you seriously. No woman should have to suffer. Our happy outcome was that my husband and I were fortunate to adopt two wonderful kids! We simply came to the conclusion that being parents was more important to us than having biological children. Best wishes to all who face this struggle!

I suffered from uterine fibroids for YEARS and at the age of 32 I made the difficult decision to have a hysterectomy after all other treatments failed me. It was at the point where I had to carry around an extra set of clothes as I never knew when one would burst. They were unable to count mine as my uterus was so congested with them inside my lining that all the ultrasounds couldn’t penetrate it. When my uterus was removed it was the shape of a large football due to the amount/size of fibroids I had. I’m sad that I’ll never get to experience the joys of motherhood but my quality of life is greatly improved from having it removed. It was hard to get over the loss of the children I’ll never have, but I’m still glad I chose the path I did and wouldn’t change that path if ever given a chance.

Ive actually been having a flare up for the last 3 days and haven't been able to hold down any food, and I appreciate you being so open and honest with us💛💛💛💛

Erin, thank you for being so open with your journey through these things. Your descriptions of symptoms and openness about the details have led me to ask better questions and demand more of my doctors to get answers for my own body.
