In today's video we take a look at the popular and LOVED DumboRC radio transmitter and receiver XF6G. Is the range and gyro as good as they say it is? Senton skatepark KICKING • REDCAT Kaiju vs Arrma ...
I really like the fact that the Dumbo 6 channel and has Gyro function. With all the awesome speed runs you do this is a great investment. I really like the fact that you can use a lipo instead of double A batteries. 👍👍
Yep, doing away with double A completely is my eventual goal. I have a million 2s batteries, most of them just sit in storage for months before being maintenance charged, then back to storage. So these will give them some purpose.
@@Rek_Rc AA batteries aren't so cheap any more so that's a good thing. I think a small 2s lipo would provide many years of service and would be easy to maintain. I have a RadioLink that I run on a small 2s and even with the LCD it hardly ever needs charging. I just said that and noticed mine needs to be charged. In an RC car you have LVC and I thought that was to protect your lipo from going below a certain voltage. I wonder if transmitters have protection for the batteries. My battery is charging just fine right now so who knows. I left the battery plugged into my transmitter and the transmitter started beeping loud because the power switch was on and the display showed low battery voltage. I mean hell what's the big deal on properly charging these small batteries. I know, .... "LiPo safety is important". I always monitor my charges or at least contain the battery in a fire safe LiPo bag. My Weed Wacker battery is more intelligent than the ones they make for RC's when it comes to safety.
They are awesome, I finally see the light. And while the gyro does make it hard to steer when it's on full , it also really does keep the rc going steady and straight.
I think that's my eventual goal too, just too many radios laying around. Unless I have a bunch of people with me all driving an rc , 2 radios is really all I need most of the time.
Shit! I just bought the X4, no gyro about 3 weeks ago. being new (kinda) and already spending too much money I got the X4 for £35 rather than the X6 £42. You gotta love Amazon return policy, I think I'll be sending it back now
@@Rek_Rc done and done. Got the refund put onto a gift card as soon as I handed it to the courier. Got an extra 10% off the X6 so I've only paid an extra £3 and it arrives tomorrow 👍
I have a arrma big rock 3s and I want this receiver and radio because people say this gets rid of delay! Also the stock receiver had stopped working and I don’t know how to put the dumbo rc receiver in the car. Thank you.
It's actually super easy . Just plug the leads into the dumbo just like they are in the stock receiver, then follow the included instructions for binding the radio (it's super simple), then your big rock will have a gyro and be even more stable going fast.
I bought one of those for a rc I was building. I don't know what I did wrong but it wasn't working for my car. It was a shame because of all the reviews they had.
Someone did tell me that a good one is great but they do send out a dud somewhat more often than other transmitter makers do. I was a bit worried one of mine would be a bad egg too but they so far seem to be very good.
Hmm I just noticed the steering trim is backwards. The steering itself is fine but the trim is reversed. It works ok, just odd. What issues was yours having?
@@Rek_Rc mint was hesitation on throttle. No matter how you trimmed it was always hesitant. I switched to a redcat transmitter and receiver and boom no problem anymore.
@@TheUnknown714 oh ok, maybe I'll have to keep an eye out for stuff like that. So far so good, but you know how rc stuff can be sometimes, once that honeymoon phase is over they can show their true colors and turn to crap lol. I hope not, but it happens. Btw brother, I was thinking about maybe sorting out a local meet for some drag racing, I think I could get a few guys involved and if you and Bruce want to, that would be fantastic! Maybe we can work something out here in a few weeks.
@@Rek_RcI'm down. Don't know about Bruce since he got promoted to Nashville. He'll be leaving in a couple of weeks. But if when it happens and he's still here he's down.

Great review on the ole Dumbo RC. I love mine!
It took me a while but now I see the light. They do exactly what they say they can do.
Thanks for sharing👍
Great video. Them Dumbo transmitter are great to.
They are even better than I expected.
Awesome video bro, everybody says that dumbo controllers are awesome, great review and nice run 😃👍👌
Thank you sir. So far I'm very impressed with them, especially for the price!
Love the 2 I have great review

@Rek RC channel 6 to adjust the gyro I think
I’m a big dumbo fan. We’ve got 3 radios, and use those in 10 different RC’s. Eventually I’ll replace all the random radios with dumbo receivers
I think that's my eventual goal too, just too many radios laying around. Unless I have a bunch of people with me all driving an rc , 2 radios is really all I need most of the time.

For sure the 6 channel gyro version is much better for not much more money.

@@Rek_Rc thanks for info. Will my arrma big rock have no lag?
@@Rek_Rcwhat leads do I put into what Chanel on the reciever?
Love Dumborc transmitters. But my favorite is Flysky Noble Pro. Never used a Futaba or Sanwa, I'm sure they are awesome. But the price.
Dumbo really is the best cheap radio out there.
@Rek RC And the receivers are super cheap. If you have a lot of cars and trucks that's a major plus
500m is it?
I didn't take it that far, but I have heard of others going that far. The range is fantastic though.
@@Rek_Rc depend on your rc also alright?
If 1:10 scale running in 500 meters can't to see the rc .. 😁
@@digeolrc8586 that's true and I figure if it's at the end of my line of sight, it's good range.

Thats not a range test man, why name the video range test? Yeah we know it will do 80 meters 😂
I found the range to be "plenty enough" or something like that
