I really enjoyed this movie in I-MAX. In a world of never-ending medical dramas, and remakes of remakes, its nice to have genuine Sci-Fi that isn't watered down in unnecessary romance or comedy. Roland still has it.
Well said
Boy bye
Definitely
"I-Max"
I agree, it was a fun movie. Only thing that bugged me was that a super advanced Dyson sphere creating interstellar humanity couldnt stop the ai.
But todays humans with an emp bomb from the 60’s was able to kill one of them.
Which means the ai had no defence against what is literally ancient technology, and despite fighting an entity thats totally inorganic, no one thought to deploy the most basic and obvious weapon against the ai.
I love how they took multiple sci-fi concepts and made it into one movie.
1.Hollow Moon
2. Ancient Advanced Humans
3. A.I Turning Evil On Their Creators
and dyson spheres
I swear, they read the Halo Forerunner trilogy and played the Reclaimer Saga and were like "We'll do our own, with blackjack and hookers!"
It was good but what I did not get is why did the Moon not guide humans. I mean make them and then raise them (educate them). Its a damn AI on board. Just "breed" humans and then educate them like in Zero Dawn (game) the AI tried to do.
It also made no sense that the evil AI does not know what a shuttle is and needs tech+humans to attack it and stops just as it was about to destroy it.
They also pulled real information from conspiracy theorists who believe in a hollow moon, like the fact the Apollo impact caused the moon to rattle for much longer, and the stuff about lunar eclipses. It’s something people actually believe in so I thought it was cool they did their research.
Really enjoyed it. Yes it had flaws but for what it is entertainment purposes it was enjoyable.
be good to see one of those scientific videos about this, where they usually correct the hollywood 'science' watching one about stuff they get wrong in sci fi kinda ruined some stuff for me, although a good film can get away with taking artistic licence, it has to be fun too!
Roland Emmerich, the king of guilty pleasure flicks. As much as I've laughed at the dialogue and premise of the movies he's made, they've all been fun to watch.
I enjoyed it. Nice seeing something that isn’t a remake, sequel, prequel or something pushing the message.
I absolutely loved this movie, it was pretty crazy, especially since we got to see skynet’s ancestor.
Back then, I never bothered to know who made them awesome movies, I just watch em and enjoy it. As I got older, I learned about the producers and most of the movie Roland Emmerich produced, I really enjoyed all of them. Thank you sir. Moonfall was awesome! Me and my daughter enjoyed it on the big screen IMAX
Glad you enjoyed it
7:55, that's never going to go away! Lol!! Also Smith quit the Oscar's.
"Paving the way for the uncucking" quote of the year maybe the decade
I actually valued the risk that this movie takes and for that, I’m always open to buying a ticket, in the hopes that new, high quality, risky storyline movies are made. Sometimes, the audience needs to have some patience and stop pretending that they could make a better film, when they have the one idea that could “fix” the movie… I’m a professional videographer, so I understand the urge to find the errors in the work, but I simply enjoy the risk directors take, so I lean on the side of giving movies the benefit of the doubt, before I trash a movie.
I have to admit, i streamed this movie on a streaming site for free because, well frankly that's what i do with like 99% of movies and tv shows these days unless it's a movie or show with an intriguing and new concept. But after watching it i actually felt guilty. As you said, it's not a perfect movie by any means but the fact that the director and the big names of the cast were willing to take the risk on an original albeit a bit goofy concept and the studio actually allowed them the creative freedom to do such a new yet goofy idea that made me feel guilty for not paying to watch it because that sort of willingness to take chances is sorely lacking these days so i greatly appreciated that they went with the unique but risky concept rather than sticking with some vanilla, standard and frankly neutered and completely watered down disaster movie concept like 2012, san andreas or greenland instead of going with the safe, tried and true but boring idea. And because it was an original and unique if not a bit silly idea despite the fact that i usually hate the disaster format movies i actually really enjoyed this one not despite it's silliness but almost because of it, so i have decided to buy a few copies of the movie on dvd and hand them out to friends i think will like it as a way to offset me not paying for the film when i saw it to try to reward the use of unique ideas. Best way i can put it is, I'd much rather pay for a movie with a uniqe and new concept behind it that i end up not enjoying than to watch a movie for free that i liked but only because it is one of 10 movies that had the exact same concept.
I love how calm you sound while narrating about the moon hitting the earth
So we find out in this movie gravity necessarily isn't always our friend.
also time, things fall in an arc because the lower to the ground it is, the faster the time moves there, a tiny amount but it's there, like if you had a 1000 floor building and went to the top, time would running slower by a tiny almost, unperceivable amount.
@@jibicusmaximus4827 that's not how that works at all.
@@DrewLSsix lol, I swear
@@jibicusmaximus4827 All of those things are wrong.
for us mortals it has never been a friend ,we've been at odds with gravity since we were single cells.
I couldn't wait for this one, space/earth Destruction movies are A MUST SEE for me
Yep
Me too!
Same! I hope there’s a second one.
I was hoping you'd do this movie, I actually haven't seen it yet, and you make a good reviews on movies
Thanks!
Wat he said
Awful movie
@@filmcomicsexplained Roland got the idea from David Weber. David Weber wrote Mutineer's Moon in 1992.
"For Lt. Commander Colin Maclntyre, it began as a routine training flight over the Moon. For Dahak, a self-aware Imperial battleship, Dahak is the moon, a left over from a prior human starfaring civilization. It began millennia ago when that powerful artificial intelligence underwent a mutiny in the face of the enemy.
The story continues in The Armageddon Inheritance, Heirs of Empire and Empire from the Ashes..
Wow, what a impressively ballz off the wall crazy plot. I am surprised that I never heard of this. It was more off the grid than the dark side of the moon
That origin story near the end was nuts it's a mix of Halo and Horizon Zero Dawn lore. The swarm was also a combination of Halo's flood and Horizon Zero Dawn's nano machines with the way it acted. To be honest I hope to see a sequel and where they take this story like going from a disaster movie to a sci fi about fighting aliens in outer space!
thats why i had fun with it he show us cool sci fi from all other media's also the remnant in mass effect andromeda (I know the shit one but the concept of nanite A.I.locust that form up is cool & not in enough films.
Maybe in moonfall 2 the ai army from the flashback return and invaded earth with they Infected ancient machines made by they creator as they war machines
@5:02 "...and this is where things start to get nuts"
I really admire Nyat's mental fortitude when watching silly movies like this and just trying to make sense
The most Roland Emmerich film ever made.
Absolutely awesome presentation! The fact that the artificial moon megastructure itself containing all the information technology and biological collections about the extinct human protegenitors collected and contained would essentially make the descendant humans species reign once again! They need to be that because the rouge nanite AI is still there!
Watched this last night, the plot felt very rushed which is shame because with the mostly good visuals it had great potential.
I have the book Who Built The Moon , and I was waiting for this so I absolutely loved it
I won’t lie… the uncucking line…. Took me out😂🤣🤣🤣
That Jeff Goldblum edit was gold!!!!!
form what i hear about this movie, its has an interesting concept
This movie was just a ton of fun.
He also did the fantastic WW2 film Midway. And could you cover Gnarl from Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Starting my shifts right after you drop a video is a highlight of my day✊🏿🙂
*G'morn & thnx for another gem Niyat*
Morning!
Just finished video & *the "uncucking" of Will Smith may never happen* after the Oscars😔
that "oscars" dialouge you sneaked in there cracked me up
the way you conceptualize these movies is unlike any other channel!!!
I love it. Would wire cash to help see a sequel of this or Iron Dome.
Too many movies take themselves too seriously - this one had dialog almost to get it out of the way for action ( sort of like Predator 2 ).
I don’t see world ending movies for dialog 😅
This one delivered in spades by exploring the hollow earth theory and more. Pretty awesome.
If Hollywood had a clue they would be cranking out movies on Alternate History, Unofficial History, as people do want stories that are hard to predict. This one legit had me wondering what was coming next instead of some formulaic diaper script.
I LOVED THIS MOVIE!!!
This is one of those movies that you have to grab a drink and go with the flow. I really would love to see where a sequel goes with this story.
I love Roland Emmerich and his movies. Nonsensical plot, pacing, story being all over the place, corny dialogue, flaws and scientific inaccuracies? Just inject that shit straight into my bloodstream. I watched this movie yesterday and I couldn't stop smiling throughout it. I had no idea that the moon would end up being hollow so that part of the movie blew me away. Such a fun ride.
From the reviews and comments I've read, the negative reception seem to stem from people's inability to turn their brains off and just have fun with a movie. Why take the movie seriously hen the creator clearly doesn't? The moon being hollow is a ridiculous concept so why would a movie about it be any less ridiculous? By now, people should know exactly what to expect out of a Roland Emmerich movie. I really hope the movie flopping in the box office doesn't mean that Roland Emmerich won't make any more crazy movies.
Also, Michelle is their nanny???? Wth. That wasn't the impression the movie gave me lol. Definitely felt like she and Fowler were supposed to be a couple. I guess this explains the lacking amount of affection displayed between them.
...I'm going to headcanon them as a couple though. Maybe it's a good thing that there won't be a sequel because they'd just pair up Michelle with Sonny lol.
Why is the moon being hollow a ridiculous concept? On an Apollo mission they put a seismicgraph on the surface of the moon. After they left the surface they purposely crashed the lander on the moon. The moon rang like a bell for an hour an a half. Then they did it again on a different Apollo mission at a higher distance and the landing craft was much higher. The readings they got showed the the moon reverberated for over 4 hours. They can't come up with a serious explanation other than it's hollow. All of the other explanations NASA HAS tried to use has been proven wrong. The only explanation that holds any water is the hollow moon theory. I love when people say something is ridiculous, but don't know themselves. How do you know it's not hollow. Nobody does. It's quite possible that it is. Theirs more evidence proving that it's hollow than it's not.
@@sgtjohnnywallsmith8720 holy shit, an actual conspiracy nut
@@sgtjohnnywallsmith8720You're the one who doesn't know what you're talking about. I take it you've gotten your information from conspiracy CZcamsrs or a headline or two.
Look up earthquakes, or in this case, moonquakes.
The moon "ringing like a ball" was just as figure of speech. It didn't literally ring like a church bell you strike with an object.
The reason the moon vibrates differently when impacted upon by forces (meteors, solar wind etc) is because of its structural makeup. It's nothing like Earth. The moon is "dry" compared to earth, which causes vibrations to last longer as there's not much to dampen them.
When an earthquake happens on the Earth, the waves propagate, travel a distance, bounce off the core and crust a very short amount of times and die out. When one happens on the moon, the waves act differently, but not like they would do if the moon was hollow.
@@sgtjohnnywallsmith8720 lmaooooo
@@sgtjohnnywallsmith8720 lmao
5:00 this is where it gets nuts not the moon falling or being hallow or Haley berry sending everyone home and give up on the earth saving mission. The ship being taken over is the nuts part.
Well when you’re right you’re right I really need to see this movie its sound like such a bad but fun time.
Really enjoyed the film and this :)
That bit near the end was a creative way of referring to the 'Sunday Slap'.
KC and his mom sub story was better than the 2 main protagonist.
His mom often forgot KC but she really loved him and KC did the same too 🥺
I shred my tears on the scene where KC was talking to his mom and his mom motivates him but she forgot who KC was 🥺😭
I just went to go watch this cause of the first minute or so of this before pausing to not get spoiled too much. Now I am back, having finished it, and I liked it. I liked the concept, the crazy gravity effects, the whole idea of the moon being a megastructure. I wouldn't mind a Sequel. Or better yet, a Video Game based off this concept.
I have not seen movies like this in a long time, and I guess I also blown away like KC with the concept that humans was once a very advanced species I really hope this gets a sequel or a prequel to the events of the rogue ai being born
Thanks for your video of Moonfall. 👍🏾👍🏾
I loved the movie. 😘
throughyl enjoyed this one, usually watch the films you make videos about, then come back to your video
Loved this movie! Fun, entertaining.
"The Uncucking" LMAO!
Just saw it ... bloody brilliant !!!!!!
THANK YOU 🌀
I'm going to watch this one. thanks for the suggestion.
Hope you enjoy it!
@@filmcomicsexplained I really did. I watched yesterday. It has almost everything I could expect from a Roland Emmerich movie.
this was a lot of fun honestly.
Haven't seen this yet but the visuals look amazing I still want to watch it
You had me at destruction. LOL. I like this kind of movies.
Great review! It does remind me of the a old school blockbusters we grew up with. I miss those days!
I was entertained all I could ask for.
This is just a test to see if people are ready for a he next fast & furious movie. Where they need to go to space and race in the rings of Saturn to beat the bad guy who is rich because they have mined the resources from outer space.
im down for that
From remakes to remakes, finally a fresh movie! enjoyed it!
I just finished watching it and although i had my reservations as i thought it was just another disaster movie, the plot twist and the jump into deep sci-fi territory completely changed my outlook on this movie. I can understand why it wouldn’t be for everyone, but I’m glad im not alone after reading the comments. I hope they go deeper into the lore with a sequel or prequel, i would definitely watch it at the movie theater. 8/10 for me.
Man I swear I be waitin for these videos to pop up on my phone 😂😂
I'm surprised you didn't mention the clear inspiration in the halo franchise whit all the antique humans
No matter what, romnald Emmerich is a guilty pleasure for me, just bombastic fun. Love those movies.
The feeling of being untethered in space, rapidly propelled deep into the void has GOT TO BE one of the the scariest feelings ever.
Tsunamis watching themselves being overused in disaster movies: *KEEP MY HUGE WAVES OUT YOUR F***ING FILM!*
This review is one of your finest. Great Script
2:08, hey it's what's his name from GAME OF THRONE'S!
I honestly love it all it’s fun and also amazing cgi!
just finished watching it, i didnt dislike it, but im certainly not in any rush to go tell my friends about it. i got a few laughs out of the one-liners, & a few 'wow cool' moments from the scope of the CG
Hadn't heard or seen anything about this and just came across it today, not perfect but really enjoyed it.
"the illness that shall not be named" wow niyat. your cracked me up. not that I chuckle at the problem but just at the joke i chuckled.
🤣 you called it Zilla! Hope you're having a good Saturday and not getting too pissed 🍻🐢
Cheers lad
Loved this movie! Edge of your seat the whole way and left you guessing the twist into the reveal.
Well, I never heard of this movie, but now I want to see it.
I just watched this movie and it was awesome. Refreshing.
I hope they make a sequel to this!
" We have work to do"
( A I recreates game of thrones)
New film comics vid whoop whoop 👍
I’m glad to see how you give major details about the movie with totally spoiling the plot. And regarding not getting to see sequels to a few of these movies really pisses me off mainly of Independence Day 2=3😭😭 though I’m happy to find a couple fanfictions
Niyat talking about uncucking was the best thing about my day today 😂
Chris knight who wrote, who built the moon? Has written a lot of hypothetical books that can be made into a movie. Honestly I've read Who built the moon back in the 2010s and it's pretty thought provoking.
Roland Emmerich, the king of disaster films. He also makes movies about disasters.
"Zilla"! 😂🔥🚒
Amazing movie 🎬 love it 😀 can way for part 2 and now will read the book 📖
I really liked this movie! The visuals looked good I've always been a fan of disaster flicks.
Very cool.
We went to a 4D Cinema to watch this to try out the 4D effects, OMG it was the ideal film for the chairs moving and all the other effects really helped us get sucked into this film.
This is a hugely entertaining blockbuster film, we put our rational brains into neutral and had a great time, Fantastic special effects, and brilliant comic one liners in places. I will never look at my phone in airplane mode the same again ( Great bit in the film ). If you can go to a 4D cinema to watch this do, if you can go to a 4D cinema at all go.
Roland keep up the great work and if you can do a sequel to this we are going to be the first to buy the tickets
Great hugely entertaining film.
"You're part of the moon now.".
I really loved this movie it made me laugh a lot especially near the end
The best Sci-fi in a long while
The trailer to this movie gave me fits, but because it's a Niyat video I am gonna watch this and tell the physics part of my brain to shut up and hemorrhage quietly in the corner for about 9.5 minutes.
I remember seeing a poster for it, thought it seemed cool. Never did go watch it. Maybe I should... I guess I'll pause this and come back after watching it lol
Not into the movie but love the analysis and the review!!
He is Awesome!
Thanks for the video!! See you later!! Stay safe.😉
Someone should take the disaster scenes from this movie and splice them together with clips of Gru stealing the moon in Despciable Me.
Waaaaacccckk! I had VERY HIGH HOPES for this movie. But it was just a mash up of all the movies he’s made already!
i think this is the first time i seen wil smith meme, good job!!
The Lunar megastructures theory was epic. The only problem with this movie is how casual people treat the eventual fall of the moon on the Earth, they treat like it was just another climate disaster or something similar when. They act like "just go to Colorado and you will be safe" this is pathetic but the rest is really great. Someone should capture this idea and expand on it.
I thought this movie looked stupid as hell, but after your review of it.. I still do.
But now I kinda wanna see it. Good video!
It is very stupid as hell! And I love it
It's incredibly stupid, but visually amazing.
i still enjoyed watching it
I only saw one trailer for this movie, then never heard from it again. I was wondering when it was coming out but I just learned it was released in February
Never heard of this one. Quite interesting.
Watch it, it's really good
@@2eganja1 I think I will.
Great film, would have loved to seen this in the cinema.. need your opinion on the breakdown!! 😁
Nice
I liked this movie a lot! I saw it in 4DX and I was the only person in the theater which made my experience FANTASTIC!
I really wanted to see this, but it was only in the theater here maybe 2 weeks
I really likes the movie. Bought it and I have seen it more than 3 times.
