I had a one day old model y performance and I had a power frunk kit from EVOffer. Since I was working on the car I disconnected high and low voltage batteries. I had the back door open and it was just outside the carport here in Bangkok. It was going to rain so I closed the doors while working under cover upfront.
When I reconnected low volt lithium battery up front, nothing happened. I was 20cm out of range of my wall connector… up hill. The doors were locked with the frunk open and the car was still a brick. The low voltage battery was not discharged when I disconnected it and it had 80km on it. I could not get in the car to connect the high voltage batter. I have a small power supply that I cranked up to the max 7 volts and manage to just jet the trunk open. It’s a tight squeeze over the back sear but I got the main battery connected. This didn’t fix anything. (The little power supply went TU).
My insisted and we called the New Tesla here in Bangkok. The said “oh, you are trying to modify your car. We will have to bring to the delivery center. Oh, you can’t drive it? Then we will have to tow it here !”
If you have ever seen the Schiff show that is Thailand towing companies you would have that concerned look on your face right now as you would rightly image about five guys tying ropes around the back wheels to drag it out in the street while waving their hand and shouting competing commands.
So I said no thank you to the Tesla rep and went to bed. In the morning I thought I would just buy another low volt battery. The Tesla service center said they would not sell me one unless they were working on the car :-(
I read somewhere that the Low Voltage battery can flip a bit somewhere and just refuse to come online. Sorry I don’t know why - yet. I did go out with the Ford Everest and bought some jumper cables. I connected to the proper posts and the car flickered to life. The screen came back on then rebooted itself. The car had grave warning about low power. I got into drive and moved forward about 30 centimeters still jumpered and the frunk open and got my wall connector plugged in. After a few min all the warnings did not abate so I rebooted the screen and everything but a frunk warning went away. Finished the EVOffer powered frunk installing and all is well.
Thanks Tesla for refusing to sell parts, but your ignorance saved me.
That camera needs glasses 😂. Does it have to be a 12 volt ? How about a 9 volt battery.

After you powered up the battery , how will the car take charge from the wall connector again if the battery is still cold ?
I guess it will take some time before it will charge, if your battery is very cold.
It looks like you opened the frunk after you charged your battery with those leads in the front of the car. I thought you are only able to pop the frunk with those leads when the cars 12v battery is dead!
There is a way to check how far under 0 you are with an obd reader, you can see another guy from Norway does it in this video czcams.com/video/y675YCgSnlc/video.html
