    I was £50 down over 2 months by this week then made £40 by trading the friendlies* yesterday evening and ending up in profit on them all. Then I made another £12 today by trading 5 friendly matches this evening so I'm back where I started. I even messed up a few times but managed to do something on other markets to claw the losses back. Deciding to back Greece for £2 at 50 before they scored helped.
    *edit and on a brazilian cup game or two, I think.

    I don't use the match odds market a lot for trading these days. #4 I use sometimes in the Championship. #1 when I am watching a game and it is very obvious that the winning team is under big pressure. Best advice of these 40 minutes is: "You must go against the masses". So when all punters lay 0-0 at halftime I like to back it. Sometimes long losing runs, but the juicy winners reward you very well.

    In the Bristol City v Ipswich game, would it not have been more profitable to back the losing team for your £46 at odds of 38 then immediately cash out when Ipswich equalise at odds of 6.6??

    • @ShakaZoulou77
      @ShakaZoulou77 Před 10 měsíci

      No, you only see that now, because the goal was imediatly after he layed, if was a late goal from Ipswich, he wouldn't have chance to lock a profit. That was an option, if when you are watching the game live and you feel that can a goal of losing team at any moment

  • @calvintester9640

    If you’re going to cash out your back stake why do you lay it as well?

    • @SportsTradingLife
      @SportsTradingLife  Před 3 lety +1

      Laying it can capture the price you want, if you press the cash out button you are letting Betfair decide which price to cash you out on.

    Been destroyed doing the lay the underdog.
    Bayern Munich at home to Armenia Bielfeld.
    Armenia took a two goal first half lead. Bayern then scored at the start of the second, then unbelievably Armenia went 3-1 up so I ducked out .
    Same night Spezia at home to AC Milan, Spezia took a 2-0 first half lead and won .
    AC Milan season away record W16 D1 L2.
    World cup qualifiers lay on Luxembourg away to The Republic of Ireland, they won.
    Same night Malta away to Slovakia, Malta raced into a 2-0 lead away from home, unbelievable.
    Are any of those four bad trades or just incredibly bad luck. I just stay away from it now.

    • @SportsTradingLife
      @SportsTradingLife  Před 3 lety

      That sounds like some incredible bad luck! I remember looking at that Bayern match and that exact scenario had rarely if ever come up in over 10 years of data. I think Bielefeld failed to win in the end also?

    • @jonathanjacobsson7402
      @jonathanjacobsson7402 Před 3 lety

      Well, the beauty of football isn't it? If you lay the underdog you have to be prepared for a big hit every now and then. I guess you layed the underdog either because you thought they would go a goal behind, and so did the market, therefore the high odds, or because you think they were underpriced, which in most cases they aren't. It's the boring way the trade/bet, but the value to back can most often be found in the underdog. I like to compare closing lines on BF with Pinnacles closing lines (Said to be the sharpest bookie you can find). The favourite is often very close priced, meanwhile you can find BIG value in Underdogs/ The Draw if you compare. To be profitbale you have to beat the market, find the best opportunities.

      Matched betting you are limited to the free bet amount. Trading you can use whatever amount of money depending on the size of bank you have. A lot of people (including Ben, the guys talking in the video) start with MB then move on to trading once gubbed from the bookies.
