Kershaw Emerson CQC-4K - So Much To Love

- The "just right" sized CQC-4K is one of my favorites in the Emerson designed lineup from Kershaw. It's spear point blade, wave opener, desert tan G10, and reliability make this one of my favorite folders. I highly recommend this blade and many others like it such as the CQC 6K and 7K. For someone that isn't a collector and just wants a great performing everyday knife, this series of knives really is the perfect choice. I own a CQC-6K and now this 4k model. After using the Wave, I don't think I could ever go back and these have proven to be a very durable design. At their price point, you can afford to buy several for less than the price of a real Emerson.
love the cqc4kxl just bought mine and this knife is great deployment out of pocket fast and well built sharp blade
Just grabbed on off Amazon. My First impressions echo your comments. Trim. Sturdy. Blade lock is no joke.
Real happy so far. Definitely heavier than I expected. But not overly so.
Blade was sharp right out of the box. Just needed a little tune up on the stone.
Deployment is a bit tight. Just probably needs a few reps to break it in. Or maybe a little adjustment.
Overall probably the best $30 Chinese knife in the collection
I highly recommend this knife as a german. Das ist im Moment mein EDC. Ich hab die Version mit D2 Klinge. Das öffnen mit dem Wave Haken geht hervorragend mit dem 2 Finger Griff. Mein erstes Messer mit thumb disc. Gefällt mir persönlich besser als ein seitlicher Bolzen.
Die Klinge gleitet traumhaft beim Öffnen. Ich meine Traumhaft. Hab Spydercos, Benchmades und ZTs, aber die Klinge vom Kershaw/Emerson gleitet anders und der Klick beim Einrasten..
Handlage, Klingengeometrie, Klingenspitze, Schärfe ab Werk, alles vom Feinsten.
Passt gut in die Jeanstasche und trägt nicht/kaum auf.

Is it 4k, 5k, 6k or 7k folders?
Would you say the spear point is easy to sharpen on a whetstone
Can the wave opener be used as a bottle opener? Has anyone ever tried it?
Just buy a bottle opener for your keychain?
So im just getting into edc knives. I just received a paraframe tanto and its cool and all but i feel the function of it is terrible like opening and closing it seems stiff and hard to do so.
Could you recommend this? I want something really smooth and easy to open
