- A little late to the party vs. other reviews, but I like to get some real time with a book and get a bunch of games in before I throw my hat in the ring. It's been around a month, I'm 20+ games in, so here's a quick rundown on what I think about the new season of Age of Sigmar, the GHB for 2023-2024.

Wow this guy really knows his stuff
Thanks for posting this. I always look forward to your take on tactics. Super concise and really helpful.
Thanks for the vids. I’m really excited for the new skaven vid.
Awesome video as always! Very insightful and great overview of everything :)
Ha ha!
The suffering gravetide is good now, I won't look stupid for using it, lol
Great insights! I agree, the new battle tactics are not very interactive - I've still had some great games, its just an uphill battle if you're playing an older book like stormcast.
Amazing video, one can tell you have alot of experience!
Nice video. What edition is the current for AOS now in 2023?
Great Video! The Pouch isn't that good atm, cause the rules in the pouch requires an unmodified cast roll of double one, two or three for a miscast and the primal dice are modifiers atm, so you can't trigger a primal miscast with double two's and three's. The Pebble is very useful, because your opponent has to pick a different unit within 3" if you roll a 4+, but nothing states that is has to be one of your units, so in Theory you can force Nagash to Hand of dust him self, as long there are no other units are around.
The pouch is the only one I've seen out and about locally or placing well at tournaments so far. If the original "unmodified" cast roll was double 2's or double 3's it's a miscast, if you add a primal dice to it (WHY?!) it would become a primal miscast too!
I am thinking about getting into Warhammer. Are the Vampire Lords still a faction? Thank you
2:42 you name Nagash. But doesn't the rule apply only to Andtorian Locuses? Nagash isn't one, since he has >9 wounds. Or does the double 6 rule apply to every wizard?
Double 6 with a primal dice applies to every wizard!
How do you roll 5-6 primal dice at a time if their lost at the end of each battle round?
With the Acolytes Battalion you have a chance at two primal dice each turn like normal, plus a third if you roll that 3+, plus a fourth if you take the command trait (which you're unlikely to see). Going into the bottom of the turn you get to roll all of those again, so you can end up with 6+ primals! At the end of the battle round they all go away and you repeat the process.
I thought you can only use 1 primal dice at a time. Rule says "roll 1 of their primal dice" is there a way to stack that I am missing?
Thanks for clarifying
You can definitely use more than 1! You roll your cast roll, then you can even roll/add the Primal Dice one at a time and keep adding until you like it!
"That player can continue to roll additional primal magic dice until the caster suffers a primal miscast (see below) or there are no more primal magic dice to be rolled."
Are there any changes make pure stormcast infantry units good?
Right now, not really. We're seeing pretty Elite Stormcast armies do well with big squads of Tempestors/Fulminators or spamming Annihilators + Vexillors if you like those!
I like your comments a lot! Battle tactics just seems to again and again not work out very well. Maybe the concept just ends up not being right for the game...its not good for newer players, too much to think about, and hard to get balance right for competetive.
