Vinny, in case you didn't know, all of those "Russian creepy game over screen + changing music every time you die" platformers, plus "Call of Duty: Ghosts", Russian Angry Birds, Ben 10, and Iron Man, were all made by the same bootleg company! And they're making more new bootleg Sega Genesis games as we speak!

I am legitimately upset that Vinny didn't recognize that Last Battle was a Hokuto no Ken game, but I greatly appreciated how much it broke him into copious laughing fits.
Also, did anyone else hear Harmony by Erasure in that Angry Birds Star Wars bootleg?
Now that i think about it even more, why was Nightmare Circus even in this pack? I hardly think it's fair to put a game that wasn't even _finished_ in a shitty games compilation.

This game actually have quite a poor Russian.
The title says Deer-Hunter. And on Russian it spelled like DEER is HUNTING.

I'm 4 years late and all but the music used in the Russian bootlegs (i.e. 23:20) isn't from Sonic or any actual major title, it's mostly a compilation of TFM Music Maker demo songs.
Correction, the music in the Russian bootlegs that weren't hacks or reskins of existing games.
I love it when the devs make the volume at like 500x what it should be and Vin just screams like he just saw pixel boobs for the first time.

for a bit of context, that "legend of the final hero" game is based on one of the most famous animes of all time, called fist of the north star. It was basically mad max, except the main character was japanese rocky balboa. It also invented that "atatatat" punch thing.

For those interested: The Shrek 2 game was based on "The Ottifants", which is a licensed game based on a short-lived cartoon series which itself was based on a simple elephant drawing a classic, very famous German comedian (Otto Waalkes) liked to draw.
I had this game as a kid and I hated it.
The other one was based on a Yogi Bear game that's very triggering to some who remember some really old, shitty videos that taught me how to git gud at Hitman.

FYI, "Ultraman" is based on a live action series from the 60s that uses the same Rubber Suit technology as "Gojira"... There have been several series, including a new Anime show on Netflix that was made in 2018.

In case nobody said so anywhere, the "Shrek 2" bootleg is The Ottifants on Megadrive/Genesis, which was a pretty good game, albeit a bit hard at times, I had (and still do) have it.
The first Shrek game is a hack of Yogi Bear's: Cartoon Capers
The Ben 10 game is a hack of Ben 10 The Power of the Omnitrix which apparently is a beat-em-up for Java phones
The Despicable Me 2 is a hack of Bubble and Squeak - a game on the Genesis
And "Shrek 2" was "The Ottifants".

Russian bootleg game companies such as BMB (VMV) or Kudos have to do this as video games are very rare to get in Russia. Most are re-skins of other games such as changing the main characters Sprite or they can be lazy and slap a poor response JPEG image and call it as a real game in the franchise. (I don't know why the obssese over the Genesis though.) They're almost as bootlegged as China.
Watching Vinny experience Fist of the North Star cheese for the first time through the lens of a poorly-translated bootleg was the most magical experience of my life.

Does anyone know what the music in the bootleg games are at these times? I happen to like them a lot and want to know what they are. 32:30 and 12:34 and 22:57 and 53:31 and 53:54 (it stopped before it got to the climax).
I know the music at 12:34 is the first stage of "Volley Fire" for the Game Boy, that's all I got though.

@@AHorseThatIsARadish Assassin's Creed came out in 2008, and this is after that, because it's a knockoff using a ROM of dragon's lair. Perfect Cherry Blossom came out in 2003. Touhou came out before this.

WHAT Design Interactive made this?!?" and I couldn't even make out Data that I sighed in relief like "no, it's not them" but then Vinny mentioned it and I can't believe it... how long has that "company" existed???
Since eons innumerable, in the dark fog of history unrecorded by man, Data Design Interactive has existed even in a primordial form, biding their time until their wicked plan is realized... they release terrible games upon the unsuspecting masses in the meantime.

I think I read a thing once about games like that Iraq one. They were used for a while to recruit kids to stuff like ISIS bc of the same reasons that the US military uses stuff in media to recruit: the logic of "kids play games and kids are gullible". The main downside was a lot of the bootlegs were absolutely terrible
