If it could be saved, I saw somewhere that even tho they are somewhat sealed you can take them apart and clean the green corrosion that builds inside of it. Probably spray with electronic cleaner.

@@andyh5522 I have a 2011 328, same issue, I heard you have to match the EXACT part number in order for it to be plug and play, no programming needed, if so do I need to pull my current unit to get the part # or are they all the same. I believe my unit is in the rear wheel well behind a cover piece. thanks
@@JKICKSNY my car was produced early late 2013/ early 2014 (before mai 2014) so apprently it didnt have one yet If your car is newer maybe u have one somewhere
What year it's either back by your battery box underneath the trunk panel like it towards the back of the car or underneath the car towards the back wheel well passenger side or by your differential in the back

These are plug and play. No coding required.
Not true. New ones need to be coded to the ECU.
The 2014 didn’t require anything other than installation

I tried that….definitely was full of green corrosion, but wire brushing and trying to remove everything didn’t work
