    I did everything you said and got the antenna part from the dealer, replaced it and still had the inactive TPMS malfunction light on. So I replaced my RDC Sensor and now it’s gone. Hopefully this comment help somebody out there

    Second receiver unit failed on my 2011 328i. The second one was replaced in 2015 under preowned warranty. I replaced the second one that failed just past month with one i removed from a 2010 328i from rearby junk yard where u pull part from junked car. The one from 2010 looked good when reviewed after pulling and was just $12. Installed on my 2011 and now no blinking tire light.

    you can also disable TPMS entirely, remove that antenna module and code FTM (flat tire monitor) which does the same thing as TPMS but replies on the wheel speed/abs sensors instead of the TPMS antennas and modules in each wheel. FTM works better and is free to enable, and you never have to worry about those antennas.

    • @bp9749
      @bp9749 Před 2 lety +2

      I feel stupid asking this but how does one code a FTM?

    • @BIG_SCAM
      @BIG_SCAM Před 2 lety +3

      @@bp9749 you need an app like protools to do the coding. you remove TPMS from the vehicle order, code it and then it will remove all the TPMS options and code in FTM.

    What is the tool/software you use? I was told that after replacing TPMS antenna I would have to get it coded. How is that done?

  • @derekkchung
    @derekkchung Před rokem +1

    I just learned they changed the parts in 09/2009. TPMS sensors are different. That means if u put newer sensors (for 09/2009 or newer cars) into a, say, 2008 E90, sensors will not be detected. I did that and now I have to buy the right sensors and do tire remount. I am wondering if I replace the antenna with a newer one, would that allow me to detect all sensors. Anyone?

    The 4 "receivers" behind the wheel wells are already wired. Why do they need to talk to antenna wirelessly? Couldn't all 4 receivers be communicating with the control unit via wire, skipping the antenna which seems to be bad often?

    • @omniscient3776
      @omniscient3776 Před rokem +1

      There’s different TPMS set up’s, this one works with 4 receivers and one central antena. Other BMWs have exactly what you’re saying which is 4 receivers 4 Antenas. I honestly rather have one antena, as the set up you mentioned has more parts more to check.

      In my scenario I just got brand new Huff TPMS put on my wheels (I did not have any in my wheels before). Then I got an inactive warning sign and I could not reset it. Which is an indication that the module is bad. I read on the forums if one of your tpm sensors is bad in the wheels there should be an arrow indicating which one it’s not reading.

      If you go to a website that sells OEM bmw parts, like realOEM or getbmwparts or even fcpeuro, you can put your VIN in to check fitment. I bought the rdc about a year ago and am just now getting back around to it. I saw a couple other videos that told me other places to look. Hoping this will allow me to find it.
