  • Quick video on how to diagnose and repair the TPMS malfunction light on newer BMWs, the car I'm working on is a 2013 528i Xdrive but this method will work on most BMWs with similar systems. coding will require an app and the RDC transmitter will need to be purchased directly from the dealer unless you can find it online.

    there is a fix for these, if you can split the old one, with a knife, there usually is water inside and if you clean the contacts on the chip and resolder, it will work

    Thanks for the info, what fault codes do you have?

      You're welcome, I don't think there was an exact code when I scanned it, it did mention the TPMS module fault though.

    Thanks for sharing. How did you know it was a RDC module failure rather than the TPMS sensors?

    • @ZOHAN1989
      @ZOHAN1989  Před 2 lety +2

      I used a scanner to check the TPMS sensors on the wheels and when I found out they were all OK I knew it was the module.

      www.bimmergeeks.net/product-page/bimmergeeks-protool-bluetooth-adapter This was the dongle I used to program it. There's an app that you can download to pair and do the coding.

    I see that your TPMS reports temperature. My 2016 F10 does not. Could this be part of the new RDC or possibly the code? Curious. Thanks

    I have a 2012 535i xDrive. The warning will not shut up. After I press “Ok” it keeps warning me over and over. Incredibly annoying.

    any reason why my light comes on like that flashes and just goes away and will sometimes stay away for a while but then randomly come back and flash then go away for longer periods of time

      It is an electric issue, sometimes the connectors are rusted or the inside of the transponder is rusted and that brings to an intermittent problem, best way is to replace it, take it to a shop to code the new one, and then cover it with electric tape to make sure this doesn't happen any time soon.

    So there's a genuine $300 and probably aftermarket about $150
    Any idea

    I has a 2013 328 and just replaced the part. No programming required for me. Not sure if that's typical.

      @@VasilisaPavlova-eb4tb Yes, I did it myself. The RDC is located under the vehicle. About where the rear seat is.
