Gives me chills every time, when the last chord is resolved, and the two basses drop a full octave.

Missed you my friend.....missed you missed you ! This was filmed in the Austrian Alps....Home Free was there for an acapella conference.....I've sung this countless times in church !!! Okay suggestions for Home Free...their cover of The Driver, another one with amazing harmonies, also their newest, "What's left of my heart" an original off their new album, So Long Dixie...an album of all original songs written by Tim or Austin

I think this is one of the best versions of this song. Tim's bass really carries the song. I just found Home Free last year & love these 5 talented guys. And the scenery is awesome filmed in the beautiful Austrian Alps (my dad comes from that area).

Thanks for the reaction. This is a great version of the hymn (Elvis also recorded it, as have many others) The group Home Free
has a large catalogue on CZcams, and the harmonies and blend of voices is particularly strong in videos like their cover of the
Crosby, Still, & Nash song "Helplessly Hoping." Home Free's two tenors, Rob and Austin, just dropped their excellent version of
a Puccini aria in a video: " Two COUNTRY Singers try singing OPERA - 'Nessun Dorma' " Yes, not Pavarotti--but still very good

Isn’t it beautiful?!! Home Free is known for killer harmonies. One of my favorites of this hymn and one of my favorites of theirs. Did you hear Adam the beatboxer singing? He sang it is well. Stunning version. Good reaction😍

Really enjoyed your facial reactions, so pleasant. You simply cannot go wrong with any of the recordings by Home Free. Such a diverse repertoire of vocal genres that will be sweet to your ears. Go for it the rabbit hole is deep and wide and so much enjoyment of ear candy and none of it can you go wrong. What an amazing group whether recorded or live it is a wonderful experience. enjoy......... ❣

Really so beautifully sung in such a wonderful background. I've heard the song so many times, but this one is still my favorite. A few months ago I showed this to my mother (84) who is way religious. Now she regularly asks if I want to put it on. She herself has passed it on to her church community so that she can show it and hear it at church one day. All those beautiful different voices, but still one. Such great harmony. And of course so nice to hear Adam Rupp sing even if it is short. ..Yes, Home Free can do this too. It touches you deep in your heart and soul. Gives you shivers.

This song definitely makes me emotional--Home Free's version is my very favorite version of all the many, many I have heard 😍
Besides the unbelievable harmonies--and gorgeous backdrop of the Austrian Alps--getting to hear Adam Rupp's sweet tenor actually singing is a real treat âŁïžđŸŽŒđŸ„°đŸŽ¶â€ïž

Adam Rupp is actually an ALTO, the only Alto in the group. All the very high notes in this video are Adam. His range is well beyond the tenors. We don't get to hear his voice nearly often enough IMO.

I am pretty sure it is Austin who you were WOW-ing over, if it was the High Tenor of the group that you were talking about.
Rob is also a Tenor (who looks like he should be a Bass because of his hwight and that awesome beard...) and he really does not get enough attention because Austin is seen as 'the cute one' by the ladies.
And of course there is the actual Bass, Tim, who is one of the handful of people on Earth who can cause earthquakes with his vocals... He can go sub-harmonic so you can FEEL his voice in your chest at concerts and he has been known to blow speakers before. Apparently that is a thing among the Basso Profundi of the world; you're not a TRUE Bass Vocalist if you have not blown out speakers at a concert... lol
    Luv ya!

    • @roberthudson1959
      @roberthudson1959 Pƙed rokem +1

Austin, Rob, Chance, and Tim all have such wide ranges that they can sing any part that they want, and the rumor is that Adam (who rarely sings) has the widest range of all.

    • @jamescurfman3284
      @jamescurfman3284 Pƙed rokem

@@roberthudson1959 I have heard him sing the high stuff in 'How Great Thou Art'. I have not heard his lows. Somehow it would not surprise me. That seems to be the norm for groups like this, where the beatboxer os the hidden talent.
Kevin Olusola is the beatboxer for Pentatonix but he has a BEAITUIFUL High Tenor voice which barely gets attention and he is literally the Resident Genius of the group. Musically talented in multiple instruments at Juliard AND he was Pre-Med before joining the group.
My favorite K-Pop group is DreamCatcher. Their rapper is well-known for her deep voice while she spits bars, but she is actually a hell of a vocalist and also has the widest range of the entire group. Her capabilities for the high notes comes in second-place. The member who can hit all the high notes does not have much of a low range but she can accidentally call the dolphins with her laughter.

And...another one falls down the rabbit hole. You are so fucking doomed. We'll save you a chair.
You're about to be buried in Home Fries.
Home Free is the only country a capella group out there, but they can - and do - sing every genre. And they have no lead singer. Every one of these men can take the lead, and they pick the lead for each song by who does it the most justice. During quarantine, they kept all us Home Fries sane by dropping new videos every couple of weeks. God bless ‘em.
Your next listen should probably be Man Of Constant Sorrow. It will give you a good overview of the men and their voices.
All the men can beat box, but Adam is in a league of his own. He's a two-time world champion and there're good reasons he's called a "Freak of Nature" and “the man who swallowed a drum kit.” For more of Adam's incredible beat boxing, check out Sea Shanty medley (the man makes castanets, for Pete's sake), his no-monica solo on Working For A Living and Ain't Going Down Til The Sun Comes Up (that video is on Facebook), and his drum solos.
For more of Tim's seismic basso profundo, listen to Brothers In Arms, Misty Mountains (his collaboration with Peter Hollens), Folsom Prison Blues, or Ring Of Fire (the Sing Off version).
For Chance's smooth baritone, check out Down to the Honky Tonk, Brothers In Arms, and Folsom Prison Blues. (Awesome. A basso profundo and a baritone/bass in the same group.) FYI, Chance is singing (throat singing) the jaw harp sounds - without the jaw harp - in Man Of Constant Sorrow.
For Rob's smooth soul, check out End of the Road, Blue Ain't Your Color, or Bless The Broken Road. (Blue-eyed soul is in good hands with The Beard.)
For Austin's soaring tenor, check out Moonshine, When A Man Loves a Woman, or Bring Him Home. (But bolt down your chair ‘cause he'll sing you right out of it.)
For their humor, check out Butts Remix, Working For A Living, Between A Rock And A Heartache, Make You Feel My Love, and Champagne Taste on a Beer Budget.
For their amazing arrangement skills, check out Do You Hear What I Hear. (Adam's arrangement. Nothing else like it.)
For their tight harmonies, check out Helplessly Hoping, How Great Thou Art, Brothers In Arms, or Auld Lang Syne.
For their mashups, check out Thinking Out Loud/Let's Get It On, Fishing in the Dark/Boondocks, Country Fried Pop, or Woman, Amen/Female.
For more of their wonderful collaborations, check out God Bless the USA with Lee Greenwood, American Pie with Don McLean, Elvira with The Oak Ridge Boys, Children Go Where I Send Thee with the late Kenny Rogers, or Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For with Peter Hollens.
Get at least five videos under your belt and then listen to Mayday - the official video. After Mayday, you'll be ready for Tim and Austin doing My Maria or Tim's mashup of Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow/Stay.
Then, when you come up for air, check out Rob and Austin singing Nessun Dorma. You'll need smelling salts after that one.
Don't miss their official videos. The Home Free men will often do a straight, gorgeous vocal performance, but they'll add elements of humor to the video that will leave you chuckling or even laughing out loud. (Folsom Prison Blues, Between A Rock And A Heartache, Make You Feel My Love, Working For A Living, Brother).
Their synergy is phenomenal. Each is an artist in his own right, but man - when they sing together, magic happens. Wicked talent polished by decades of hard work. (Unchained Melody, Castle On The Hill, Seven Bridges Road) To paraphrase another Home Fry, “They don't just own a cover, they upgrade it.”
You are doomed, Home Fry. Bring ketchup.
