Chris Rupp was the driving force to keep Home Free going when so many other groups would have called it quits. Without him we would not have this amazing group. Don't miss a chance to see them live.
Actually according to Chris Adam was the one who refused to give up when even Chris was having doubts and almost ready to quit. HOWEVER if it wasn't for Chris there never would have been a Home Free, Adam would have never learned to beatbox and none of them may never have even met. Chris has a beautiful voice and is such a talented arranger and I don't think he ever got the credit he deserved from reactors. I'm thankful to Chris for his own talent and vision and bringing together such a talented group of people including Chance.
We saw them in Rochester, NY the end of November and were blown away. They are so much fun live. We were fans before but we are fanatics now. I bought the bus 🚌 tour t shirt and I am wearing it out. Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄

i try to see them whenever they're within 300 miles of me but i always make it to their Christmas concert in Branson, it's glorious!
This arrangement was by Adam Rupp! The ice castle is in Minnesota and at a different location each year. Chris Rupp started the group with his brother, Adam, and left in 2016 to pursue a solo career.

Thanks for the shout-out! Chris Rupp left in 2016. After Home Free won Season 4 of the SingOff, they got different groups from the show to open for them regionally. Chance and his group Street Corner Symphony, Season 2, 2nd place, were the opening act for a number of shows during Home Free's first tour. When Chris Rupp left, Chance was invited to join Home Free.
They do this live in their christmas concerts usually. I cant wait to see them later this month! Btw, this was arranged by Adam Rupp. A masterpiece in my opinion.
Oh! I get to see them in Mankato in a couple of weeks. I will be over the moon if they do this. My favorite arrangement of any Christmas song, ever.

Shows how old this song is. Pre-Chance era. Chris was also in Country Fried Pop, Butts Remix, Ring of Fire and Elvira. He used to hide a chicken in each of their videos. When he left the chicken was retired to Austin's living room display case. Their What Child is This has all 6 members. The vocals are amazing!
The stealth chicken also makes an appearance in the video for the collaboration Chris did with VoicePlay.
The only thing better than this video is hearing them sing it live. It's one of the staples of their Holiday Shows every year.. Glad you liked it.
This is my favourite arrangement of any of their songs. It's by beatboxer, Adam Rupp & it's so complicated & complex & they sing it beautifully. Love that trill?of Austin's 2:08 and Tim's low note(2:30), always gives me chills. My favourite bit is when they do, Listen to what I hear and go up from Tim's low note to Austin's very high notes (is it an octave? I'm not musical at all)(3:18). The harmonies are amazing & the beatboxing out of this world, as you said, so ethereal. Great reaction.
Yes! From Tim's "Listen to..." up to Austin's "*I* say!" is 5 octaves, stair-stepped up by each voice. A-mazing! Adam Rupp was brilliant, and so modest about it.
The singer you did not recognize is Chris Rupp, Adam the beatboxers brother. He and Adam co-founded the group back in 2000 when they were in college. He left in 2016 to pursue a solo career and Adam Chance filled his place in the group. I have seen this live twice and it sounds just Amazing, I will see them Dec. 6th and I hear that this song is on the playlist. If you get a chance to see them in concert jump right in, they are Great.
The man in the cap is Chris Rupp, brother to Adam Rupp, the beatboxer. Together they founded Home Free. Chris left the group in 2016 to go solo and was replaced by Adam Chance. I haven’t heard this live but I hear that it’s great. I’ve seen on video they do Man of Constant Sorrow live and use a looper for the mouth harp and Austin also does a harmonica with Adam so it’s pretty cool. I imagine they can do a good rendition of this too. Try Mary Did You Know, Angels We Have Heard on High, Silent Night, O Holy Night and they have lots of silly Xmas songs too.
Adam's arrangement is my favorite arrangement of any Christmas song, ever. Chris Rupp (Adam's brother and the fellow you didn't recognize) has a video on his channel where he talks about the making of this video. One thing that surprised me about it is that while they were filming and singing along with the playback, the music at the ice castle was still blasting. I can't imagine how they managed. Yup. Best Christmas song video ever.

They have done this in more current live performances at Christmas with Chance in the group. I went to a concert last Dec. and it still sounds spectacular!
My favorite HF Christmas carol. I just love the uniqueness and complexity of it. (And I normally hate people who stray from the traditional version of Christmas carols!) I saw HF 1 year ago, and they sang this. Sounded just like the video, except Tim's subsonic "gold" hurt my ear! (No real complaints!) The guys almost didn't record this one because it is a difficult arrangement; so glad they did. DYHWIH was 1st recorded in 1962 during a difficult time in The Cold War. Adam said he wanted his arrangement to mirror the difficulties of today's world. (Or something like that 😀.)

In the very beginning Home Free was started by Adam Rupp and his brother Chris. He is the one you asked about. They started the group in their home State of Minnesota. Chris left to do his own thing and was replaced by Adam Chance. The Ice Castle seen in this video is moved to a different location in Minnesota each winter. 👗👗👠👠💓💓

Chris and Adam Rupp founded the group way back in 2000. Other members changed in and out in the early years. As said above, Chris left the group in 2016. The current line up has been intact since 2016.

This is one of my all-time favorites. But yeah, you really, REALLY need to react to Snow Globe. One of Home Free’s best and literally makes my heart so happy every time I hear it!!!
The person you don't know is the founder of the group Chris Rupp. He is Adam Rupp (beatboxers) older brother. Adam Chance took his place in 2016 when Chris left for solo career. Try Warmest Winter, Snow Globe to name a few. Always enjoy your reactions to these guys.

Yes!! Thank you Danielle! You finally listened to not only my favorite Home Free Christmas song, but my favorite Home Free song, period. I simply love everything about this gem!! The harmonies are spectacular, Adam's arrangement is phenomenal, and Tim's low notes were in danger of cracking the ice castle. Speaking of that beautiful castle, they make one every year here in Minnesota for our annual Winter Carnival, and it's located in various places in the Twin Cities metro area. I saw our guys in concert for the first time last year (I'm going again in 15 days!!!), and yes, this song sounds amazing! A recommendation I have for a fun Christmas song that often gets overlooked is "What Christmas Means to Me," which features the guys at their goofiest, and Rob just sleighs (see what I did there?) the lead vocals. #subscriptionsquad !!
Videos before 2016 are going to have Chris Rupp in them instead of Chance as baritone. Chris is the brother of the beatboxer Adam Rupp and they are the founders of Home Free. In 2016 Chris went on to do a solo career and has also made and joined in other groups as well such as 7th Ave (also with their sister Tristin, who can also sing well) and now Chris is a part of a trio called Cypress Fyre. Chance stepped into Home Free group performances in 2016 so later videos have Chance in them. You should check out all 6 of them singing together on "What Child Is This".

The outro said who arranged this masterpiece and also where the video was filmed. It was filmed at an ice castle in Eden Prairie. The person you don't recognize is Chris Rupp, Adam's brother. Chris and Adam were the originators of Home Free back when they were in college and worked so hard to keep Home Free going. He has since left to pursue a solo career. Chance came in when Chris left. This is a song that I didn't much care one way or the other about until Home Free did this beautiful arrangement. Adam Rupp arranged this and it is so creative, unique and intricate. Brilliant! Adam usually records all of his vocal percussion/beat boxing in his beat lab in his home and all the elements are of course layered in. The diverse and multitude talents and skills within Home Free is insane, both when Chris was a member and now, when Chance has joined them. This is now my favorite Christmas song. Love, Love, Love it. I honestly don't see how they could improve on this because it's already perfection. I always enjoy your reactions and analysis. Thank you

This is an older video - the unknown man is the beatboxer's brother, Chris Rupp. He was replaced later with Adam Chance. Chris left on his own; his brother is still with the band.

His youtube site is ChrisRuppOfficial. Please look there for his series Home Free History. He also performs with Cypress Fyre and 7th Ave. The dark haired lady in 7th Ave is Adam and Chris's sister Tristin. The have a lot of great videos out but my favorites are Uptown Funk and the mashup I Kissed a Girl in the House of the Rising Sun.
And I almost forgot to add that you can find a wonderful rendition of What Child is This? by Chris Rupp feat. Home Free at his channel. This is 1 of 3 videos I know of where you see both Chance and Chris with the rest of the group; it's the only one where all 6 are performing. The other 2 have the former/future member in the bar/party background. (House Party & It Looks Good)

Simon and he did a really awesome video together, "Poor Wayfaring Stranger - Epic Version Simon Khorolski Feat. Chris Rupp" and...well Simon is Russian American and, I didn't *_know_* I needed to hear a couple verses of Poor Wayfaring Stranger in Russian until it happened.

On the top of my list of favorite holiday songs. Every time I listen I hear something different. For a Home Free holiday song with a different sound, try the 2010 release of Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas. I missed totally missed this song until I recently listened to another reactor. So beautifully done and with a different styling. Love your reactions. Merry Christmas.

Others have stated, the guy you don't know is Chris Rupp, Adam's brother. They started the group years ago, and Chris was with the group for several years after the Singoff until he decided to strike out on his own projects (he has his own channel on youtube). This is when they brought in Chance to take over for him. So in all the early videos you will see Chris as opposed to Chance. Both talented dudes.

That was Chris Rupp and yes it would be interesting to see the current line up do this again.
Love what you do! You have to check out Home Free, the Oakridge Boys and Jeffrey do "Oh Beautiful Star of Bethlehem". Austin goes off straight up Southern Baptist revival style on this one! It'll give you chills for sure.
Oh one other thing, I would suggest you add a cover of the Italian aria called Nessum Dorma to your list of songs to be covered, done by Austin and Rob. I don't know if or not but Rob is a classically trained singer while Austin has a degree in musical theater

You got a new subscriber here. This was a great arrangement by Adam Rupp. If you get the chance to react to their "Mary, Did You Know?", it's a wonderful arrangement, also. As others have already told you, the "new/old" voice is co-founder Chris Rupp. He is now a solo artist., and Adam Chance replaced him in 2016. Their originals "Snow Globe" and "Full of Cheer" are good ones, too. And of course, "O Holy Night" and "Angels, We Have Heard On High".
That version's great, but I still believe Voctave's version is the final word on that song. And it features the original songwriter Mark Lowry too.

If you haven't already, I would strongly recommend that you check out Pentatonix's live version (not from a concert, but actually recorded in what appears to be a corridor in a stone chapel) of "Silent Night". The only echo effects are natural.
