Its production is laborious and requires a lot of manual work and time. Some Parmesan cheeses mature for several decades. In this video, we explain exactly how Parmesan cheese is made. And also how you can tell whether it's real or fake.

0:27 rather say "Parmigiano Reggiano -wich is a territorial denomination" can only be attributed to parmesane cheese made in that parma region. But this doesn't mean the rest of the worlds Parmesan cheese isn't Parmesan.
