I'm your host, Darren Van Dam!

Spending 10 minutes watching one of my videos could save you hours of searching, hours that you could otherwise spend watching good movies on streaming that you otherwise might not have ever watched or even known about.

Wow thanks again for the effort, these are viable and valuable outlets, especially for indy movies, but you REALLY have to dig so man, once again, appreciate your time digging through the trash for the rare treasures. Starting the A Perfect Host that I really liked when I first saw it, and many of these I don't know at all.
I haven't seen the majority of these, I'll try to check them out.👏🏻
What about Spanish Prisoner
Hey DvD, the have HBO's Rome on Tubi
Don't know if this was on another list...but No One Lives on tubi is a fave of mine...if John Wick was psycopathic
Tubi is the place to go to find some of the best obscure gems and absolute worst trash to riff on. It's truly a gift that keeps on giving.
😂 😂😂😂😂😂😂 true that
Tubi is hands down the best free streaming channel out there, and even though there is a lot of content filler B schlock, there is also a massive number of great films. You can tell that they are not just out to make a buck, they are genuine movie fans. I recommend the channel to anyone who is an ardent film fan and who is looking for hidden gems, a lot of which fell through the cracks.
Tubi has Super Sentai series.
Some of that schlock is good too.
@@razorbeard6970 but it’s annoying that movies like burning are overshadowed by the revengers: age of sultron
The Perfect Host is so good! Years ago Netflix kept recommending it to me… I finally gave in, and boy - I loved it!
I love Tubi, because they have: "Xena: Warrior Princess".
Oh yes babe....she was/is excellent..
Love that show
Me too!
Not anymore. I just checked to watch. I'm sad now
I loved that show growing up! & of course, Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, & can't forget, Hercules and Xena - The Animated Movie: The Battle for Mount Olympus!
TUBI changed my damn life!!!
I recently watched the OG Martyrs on Tubi after wanting to see it for years. It was the only streaming service that had it, and it was the first time I'd even opened Tubi. I now have a huge Tubi watchlist and will definitely add some of your recommendations!
Just the mention of that film gives me chills. Love that movie
I was fortunate enough to see Martyrs at it’s world premiere at Toronto International Film Festival. And I’m proud to say it scarred me emotionally for life. I know of at least one moviegoer at that premiere who was removed by ambulance…
Having said that, I’m glad to hear you say that you found it on Tubi. I’m definitely going to go searching for it.
Jesus. Even reading the synopsis of that one has always changed my mood for a couple hours. Good to know that if I ever want to watch it, I can find it on Tubi. 😟😟😟
I agree. Pluto tv and Tubi are my favorite free ones.
I love TUBI, lots of hidden gems from the past, in all genres. One hack I discovered, is that by entering an actor’s name in search mode, all available movies starring said actor will appear. There are also many good documentaries and music/concerts on Tubi.
I am forever grateful you introduced me to Tubi two years ago
I love Tubi. Just free good popcorn fun. No messages. No politics. No agenda. Love it! 🍿💀👍
Saturn 3 is another really good movie. Very underrated. It stars Kirk Douglas, Harvey Keitel and Farrah Fawcett.
Unfortunately only two of the movies mentioned in this video were available in Canada.
Lifeforce is another movie I really enjoyed even though it's silly. It stars Patrick Stewart.
You missed:
Planet of the Apes (1968) - The absolute classic.
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969) - Paul Newman and Robert Redford at their best.
Midnight Cowboy (1969) Academy award winning best picture.
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969) - Paul Newman and Robert Redford at their best.
12 Angry Men (1957)
And I would add:
The Taking of Pelham one two three (1974) - Hijackers take a subway train with Walter Matthau and Robert Shaw.
Monsters (2010) - Photographer tries to get his bosses daughter back to the U.S. while avoiding monsters.
Swamp Thing (1982) - Based on the comic book staring Adrienne Barbeau.
The Night of the Comet (1983) - Campy fun with valley girls who survive the end of the world.
Notorious (1946) - Hitchcock tale of a woman asked to spy on a group of Nazis friends in South America.
Alien Trespass (2009) - A fun alien invasion movie done in the style of the 1950s.
These Final Hours (2015) - Australian film about the approaching apocalypse.
My Name is Nobody (1973) - Henry Fonda and Terence Hill in the old west.
Adventures in Babysitting (1987)
The Boondock Saints (1999) - A St. Patrick's Day tradition.
Heathers (1988)
For the kids:
The Blue Bird (1940) - Shirley Temple looks for the blue bird that will bring her family happiness.
The Point (1971) - Narrated by Ringo Starr a boy with a round head finds his way in a world where everyone has a pointed head.
I’m not sure if/when you’ll be taking a break from uploading videos during the holidays, but I am very happy to be a follower and find your movie/documentary and show recommendations to be honest and true. Thank you, Darren.
Tell No One is just amazing !!! 🥰
If you're into film noir, you will love Automata. It has a very gritty silver age feel that evokes all the Bogey member berries.
Edit: there are some elements of Cherry 2000 as well. Automata is a prime example of cyberpunk noir.
Second edit: Both Raid films are absolutely amazing standalone films. 10/10
Totally agree!!!! Why is it so hard to find stuff on Tubi??? Man!
Broken Flowers and the Iranian vampire flick are in my list.
Another great list! Seriously, I am constantly surprised by what Tubi has to offer - as long as you have to time to dig through it all.
Which is a pain in the ass. Seriously. I spent five minutes scrolling to find something I hadn't seen before or looked interesting.
It’s definitely worth the dig. I put my kids on it and they were sole Netflix watchers lol not anymore
I love Tubi! If you are into old horror movies from the 70s, and 80s, Tubi is awesome.
Thank you for talking about "Luz"! So underated, it hurts. It's extremely well done
I love Tubi, a lot of people don't. But like you said, their selection is top notch. I don't mind the commercials, they movies are still uncut. Their foreign language and anime selection is one of the best of streaming sites. I did I mention that all this for free?
Great List! RAID2, Eyes of my Mother, A girl walks home alone at midnight. All amazing. I look forward to catching some of the other movies on the list.
It might be good to mention that "The People under the Stairs" has moments that are quite funny... 😂
The Eyes of My Mother is not a movie you get over easily. Great list. I'm literally adding these movies to my Tubi watch list while watching this vid. Thanks.
I think you just used literally correctly ... great!
I'm new and have just started watching your reviews. i like how you fairly present the films without making the review about you. Your easy to follow story telling is down to earth. i feel more informed than "advertised". good job keep it real.
“Return to Me” is free on Tubi. It’s one of my favorite movies. Great if you need a laugh!
Fantastic recommendations, Darren. The Sweeney is a great film; homage to the TV series from the 1970s and agree 100% on Ray Winstone’s lead. Raid 2 is just awesome. Ever since I saw Raid: Redemption, I knew that a sequel, with a larger budget, would be something special and Raid 2 is that. SUPERB 💥💥💥. Many thanks for your diligence, in selecting these movies, Darren and for sharing with us 🌟🌟🌟
My love for A Girl Walks Home Alone at Midnight drove me to want to check out Eyes of My Mother. SO glad it is now streaming for free in Tubi. Thanks Darren for the heads up!
Fair warning... they're extremely different. Although while editing this video I DID think the lead actress in both movies looked a little similar.
Absolutely agree with you about “The Raid”. After watching them both I bought “The Raid Collection” and watched them again but back to back. Pure adrenaline, best fight scenes I’ve ever seen. A couple of other great fight scenes are the one at the beginning of daredevil the series in the stairwell and hallways, and Ip Man, the first one of course, is done pretty well
The raid is probably the best action movie made in the last few decades absolute adrenaline rush it felt like one action packed ultra paced longshot
I freaking love tubi! I tell everyone but they don’t listen lol. Digging through the garbage to find gems is half the fun.
I just watched “The Perfect Host”!
Great movie!!!!
A real twister all the way to the end!!!!
Great list as usual. The one movie that you forgot was "Children Of Men". I think one of the best Sci-fi movies made in the last 15 years..... Or so. That flys under the radar.
I’ve seen it once and bored. I think I wasn’t in the mood though
I LOVE Tubi! So I’m about to look some of these up . Thanks for the recommendations.
Saw Spring the other day randomly, really good - I think I'm right in saying those guys are making the Moon Knight series
You've got to look super deep into Tubi's movie selections,as the other day I looked up a handful of genre actresses on their Search and found that they've got BAD CANDY(the Corey Taylor starring horror anthology) on there,as Tubi sometimes doesn't list every new movies of the week on their New Releases and Recently Added sections as you have to check out certain sections(such as Horror and Thrillers) in order to find the newer titles that you're looking for.
BEN FOSTER!!!!! so very underrated, and it is great to hear you sing his praises. He needs more recognition.
The People Under the Stairs is a f'n FANTASTIC movie. Total classic, I've watched it a thousand times and still love it
Such a great list dude! As for Dylan McDermott in Automata, for me I felt like he was back in his element since I first and always associated him with one of my all time favorite movies: Hardware, which also makes those movies a good pair. Blade of the Immortal hands down one of the best manga/anime to live action adaptations. Mad props on the #1 pick. Looks like I need to check out Tubi!
Yeah when he said Dylan McDermott was working 'against type' he must've missed "Hardware" made LONG before "Automata" lol.
In the past week, I've seen Thief, Big Game, Appaloosa, Alpha Dog, Murder by Numbers, and Dark Horse. All great.
Linda Fiorentino "The Last Seduction" You're welcome.
That is a 90s gem.
“A Girl Walks Alone at Night”, great recommendation 👍👍.. Very unique aspect to a vampire film, loved the odd love story perspective.
The girl in Spring was Amazing...
there's an exchange between her and the guy who's trying to pick her up at an outdoor bar.
Girl - "you're making this so much harder than it has to be"
Guy - "I'm just trying to figure out if you're the kind of [crazy] I can deal with"
classic !!
Damn bro you're a savior. So many awful channels for this but yours is a breath of fresh air. We really appreciate your effort.
Excellent list for those of us not inclined to subscribe to every premium channel available! Keep up the great work!
Tubi also has the excellent 2014 Korean series Bad Guys. Netflix had it for a while, but then took it off. They dropped the ball, but Tubi was there to pick it up.
Tubi is one of the best streaming services ever
Tubi should have a rating system, or show the IMDB rating or something. It would be so much easier to sort through the trash. I do like Tubi though and I've watched tons of great stuff on there
The wailing, one of the best scary movies you will watch, watched it on tubi at my uncles house, total badass movie
Great list Darren I thought I've seen all the movies in the world lol. But a few of these I've never heard of. You're recamadations all top notch, Appreciate bro.
A great film I somehow stumbled across on Tubi featuring Lexy Hulme is "Lord of Tears". Atmospheric and becomes steadily creepier to the point of becoming almost unsettling.
Also, "The Broken" starring Lena Headey is quite good.
Great list Darren. I would also recommend a terrific movie that kind of went under the radar called 'Jerry and Tom' (1998) directed by Saul Rubinek. Saul was great as the movie producer in Tony Scott's brilliant 'True Romance'. The film is about an aging hitman, played by the brilliant Joe Mantegna, who takes on a 'protege' played by Sam Rockwell (also very good in this) as they moonlight as car salesmen. I found it to be terrifically written, very funny and suitably sardonic. There are a bunch of other great character actors who appear in this, including Charles Durning, William H. Macy, Peter Riegert, Ted Danson and Maury Chaykin as the owner of the car dealership who acts as their handler. Some of the scenes with him and Rockwell are just pure comedy gold. It's well-worth checking out and ends with a classic song.
About four weeks ago you introduced me to Miike with “first love.” Now I have watched “a girl walks home alone in the night.” It was superb, 10 out of 10. The actors were great, especially the female lead (who acted with her eyes). The visuals were stunning, made more surrealistic because they used the high desert in California as a stand in for Iran.
Thanks for the video.
My favourite film!
Ah, man! My FAVOURITE vampire movie - A Girl walks home alone at midnight!!!
Great list as always mate...and I fully agree with you Ben Foster is a fantastic actor, he can easily carry a movie on skill and charm but rarely gets a chance to be lead. Would love to see more of him.
Thank you. Needed some movies to watch next week and I'll definitely be watching 4 of these.
It's about time CZcams popped up a good channel to watch, subscribed 👍.
I just watched "The Raid 2" and "Housebound" and I have to say I'm impressed. Your list is my new movie reference. Thanks and Merry Christmas!
There are a lot of series from years ago that I get nostalgic for. Tubi has them to revisit.
Found Tubi by accident. What a gem! Lots of great content. And way less filler than the other streamers. Any streamer that has almost all of CarlinsHBO specials is a keeper. Norton,Gaffigan etc. Plus everything is uncensored. 👍🏻
Check my movie out called the throne on tubi
I agree.
I always watch Tubi every day & weekends too!
my mom loves tubi too. I wondered why but once you get your algorithm right you get great stuff popping up. These movies look great, thanks
You always have recommendations I haven’t heard of. You’re my go to movie guy. Thank you for what you do!
What you said!! ;)
I saw the raid 2 twice in theaters here in the US. Sony took a huge risk and it's heartbreaking that the film was a flop. On the bright side: It was a delight seeing those guys in star wars the force awakens.
Love Tubi selections! "Lady Vengence" is a great pick I would suggest.
Man, I might be due for a rewatch of the raid/R2 first watch on one of your recommendations quite awhile ago. So good!
So funny, I just started really getting into Tubi in the past few weeks. Lots of depth there and your list helps.
I use Tubi almost every night. The only problem is that I often fall asleep just scrolling through the horror section before choosing something- but yeah, they’ve got a TON of great stuff.
I saw The Hunt when it was on Netflix. And I have NEVER HATED a character as much as the little girl in that movie. It's such a good movie and sad as well, to me. Because of what the main character goes through. And People Under the Stairs is one of my favorite movies of all time. I always try to watch it whenever I can.
Everett McGill and Wendy Robie were Big Ed and Nadine in TWIN PEAKS. They also portrayed the couple in THE PEOPLE UNDER THE STAIRS. Darren mentioned Everett but not Wendy. Great casting, I saw it on first release.
Hell yeah I totally agree with that thought about Ben Foster. The one that really blew me away and made me realize just how good he is was Alpha Dog and/or Pandorum. Alpha Dog was recent enough to his time doing kids shows that I wasn't sure about how he would do in a "Justin Timberlake" movie but they both blew me away in that one. Also, he just totally carried Pandorum and took what could have been a B movie/cult classic and turned it into something I would consider an A level sci-fi classic.
was waiting for this! I love Tubi, thank you!
I'm six minutes into your #20, "The Perfect Host" and it's already worth the price of admission!!!!!!! Insta-sub. Wow. Just wow. Of course I'm trusting you that this Tubi movie channel has limited commercial interruptions. Anyway, my popcorn is done popping now, so it's back to the flick.
The People Under The Stairs and Housebound may go well together if you like People Under The Stairs, but if you did not like that movie, still check out Housebound. They may be compatible but Housebound is the better film (imo).
I doubt if stardom means a damn thing to Ben Foster. Acting is what he does and I always take note whenever he's part of the cast.
For those not to familiar with him:
*Plays the gunslinger in "3:10 to Yuma", a Christian Bale, Russel Crowe western.
*Plays the human helper for the Vampires in "30 Days of Night". Small part and he steals the movie IMO.
*Plays one of two the brother, a classic hard case with a death wish in "Hell or High Water".
*In the "The Punisher", he played the guy who has his nose ring ripped out in a torture sequence.
Final thought:
He brings it, every role, every time.
BEN FOSTER
Thanks! There isn’t one movie that I will watch, but I so enjoy all YOUR videos. 😅
These are all coincidentally darker than usual
Yes, you warned me from the beginning, but I still watched. 😂
Broken Flowers looks great. Who doesn't love Bill Murray???
Dude. you have a passion. good for you.
thanks for the HT on Stalker at HBO. much appreciated
I really love Tubi because I can watch a lot of Korean movies (that's all I really watch lately). If you like them like I do, check out Memories of the Sword, A Frozen Flower, Memoirs of a Murderer, The Pirates, The Thieves, Trouble Shooter, Be With You, Haunters, The Divine Fury, The Royal Tailor, Untold Scandal, Blind, Obsessed, My Way, The Villainess, Split, Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance, Lady Vengeance, The Man From Nowhere, Train to Busan, The Wailing, The Mimic, Vanishing Time: The Boy Who Returned, I saw The Devil, Cold Eyes, Kundo: Age of the Rampant, Race to Freedom: Um Bok Dong, The Throne, Bedevilled, A Special Lady, Always, RV: Resurrected Victims and many others.
You are why I watch CZcams....I absolutely love you and your reviews...I wish more of you existed???
Great video and great list. Thanks 🙏🏾
Housebound has popped up twice in the past week for me, so I guess I need to watch it.
I LOVE spring. I love the soundtrack and the relationship. Love love love.
Wow, I am very impressed 👏. Someone who knows movies! I definitely will be watching something NEW for a change. Thanks Darin, and this is a change of pace as how your other video's go. I am just being straight forward, as I have watched your other reviews, and typically end up disappointed with the majority of films many people have heard of STILL! IN comparison you manage to scale down to a smaller population with a MUCH BIGGER PAY OFF, as I now have a great list of movies to Enjoy! NOT just 1 or 2. Thank you again, I definitely understand the market and strategy for such videos, and glad you were able to release a mic drop finale 🎤...
I haven’t seen it myself, but there’s apparently a whole alien invasion alluded to in the screen text in Searching.
Tell No One is sooooo good. It's not just a great thriller, it's also really romantic.
I love Independent films. I also love foreign films. I'm so glad I checked out your list. I'm getting ready to watch. " A girl walks home alone at night". The entire film is in black and white -- I love it already!
The commercials on Tubi are like torture to sit thru.
Another great list! I wish you and your family joy and good health for Christmas, I have greatly enjoyed your channel! I will have to catch some of these films!
Thanks for your continued support Oranjmuse!
I was literally searching A girl walks home alone at midnight for over six months, couldn’t find it anywhere. Thank you
Hi Van Dam, I'm from Brasil and I love your videos, I always watch 1 or two great movies from your lists. Thanks man.
This list is amazing. I love Tubi but they do have a ton of content. Huge thanks!!!
I've already watched Searching, love it. Also consider myself pretty hardcore with "dark" movies and some of the things I've heard about Eyes of My Mother gives me pause 😱
Hmmmm. Maybe too much for me. There are a few films I am still trying to forget.
It is gorgeous and so very dark. I'd put it right up there with David Lynch's Eraserhead i thoroughly enjoyed it. He is right. It is super dark and hit all those buttons for me. Those scenes done without sound while something horrible is happening, replay in my head quite a bit...like a ptsd trauma nightmare.
(*yes. I have C-PTSD)
"Luz" is pronounced like "loose" (more or less) and is Spanish for light.
First come across your channel. I was an absolutely superb, intelligent and informative round-up of the movies.
Consider me an instant subscriber to your channel. (And to Tubi, too.) This was brilliant.
Glad y'all are putting this out. How about those Johnny Carson episodes 24/7/365. The greatest.
The void is great.
Thanks for the movies
Awesome list! Continue making them, 'cause I will continue to watch them!
Deal!
Thank you for the recommendations. I'm not much for the 'dark' movies. I managed to watch both Automata and The Sweeney. Enjoyable. Broken Flowers doesn't seem to be on Tubi now. Thanks again!
Raid 2 was frigging sick. Hands down best action movie I've ever seen.
Great list. Always looking for some good Japanese swordplay flicks, and Blade of the Immortal was great. Another suggestion for something similar though with some humor is an older flick by Takeshi Kitano called The Blind Swordsman: Zatoichi. There's a whole series of films based on this character played by different actors through the years. Give it a look, you'll not be disappointed...
Shintaro Katsu played him in all of the original movies and subsequent TV series. Most fans of the originals haaaaaaaaaaate the 2003 movie.
Tubi doesn't get enough credit.
Adding some more to the list.
Belladonna of Sadness
Dogtooth
Carnival of Souls
Goodnight Mommy
Cake
Blood Tea and Red String
The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari
A few really good documentaries
How To Die in Oregon
Dear Zachary
All This Mayhem
Ken Foster
Rich Hill
Love the lists. Good going Brudda.
I really like and appreciate tubi , even with commercials because they don't go crazy with them like most others and they have some great content. Problem is ?..... My saved movies is so full , I can never watch them all in time. NONE of the other so - called free channels can compete with tubi IMO.
