- Hey and have mercy. There was a rumor spreading round in that Texas town about that undefeated SMU Mustang Football team. Well, Billy Gibbons came to town see for himself on Thursday night at Ford Stadium as SMU took on Tulane. And SMU crushed them. That morning Billy surprised me at Bradfield Elementary school in Highland Park, Texas and came by my class and read us stories. My teacher Ms. Caroline Fischer helped coordinate the whole surprise. Shes the best teacher in America. Turns out my principal Mrs. Regina Dumar is also a musician and shreds the electric guitar herself. Was so cool for my Godfather to surprise me. At this age, having a big time celeb like Billy come to their class is insignificant on their young minds... but one day, in 20 years or so they'll be telling and retelling this story to each and everyone they know .

Being an elementary school music teacher for 28 years (I’ve done my share of story time👍), also being a musician that’s played Top songs forever, seeing him reading that story to kids makes me tear up. What a great soul he is😉👍
Good background reply. Thank you Michael. It was off the cuff Mrs Fisher brought the book out. She had the little kid chair at the front by him and just asked if he’d read the poem. He told me ‘I’ve done a lot of things in my life, but I’ve never done that before. He loved it. After the teacher had the kids each draw a picture of billy and she put them in a book and bound it and delivered it to him. Was such a special day day all around. Ty for ur note again. And for ur 28 years of teaching.
Now that’s a proper story hour.

That's what I call "to cool for school!" How wonderful he has his Godson, to come to his school. Hopefully those kids went home, told their folks, and with hopes, had the music to play for them, or shown them on streaming of sorts 🙌
