Another thing about the needle pit is these are USED needles so you can survive it initially but its entirely possible for a person to get some kind of disease from this pit, possibly even a deadly one

HIV and Hep don't survive long after exiting the body, so the chance of getting any of that from the needle pit is extremely slim. A thin piece of cloth would do nothing against a needle...
If anything the needle trap is probably the easiest and least painful traps in Saw, the reason it works so well is most people hate needles, myself included.

I hate that trap, but that is only because the hydrofluoric acid probably wouldn't work that way.
It will kill, and you don't need much, but one thing is completely missed is that due to their close proximity, it is highly likely that the family would be adversely affected by the fumes.
That is a lot of hydrofluoric acid, and most of those types of acids emit toxic, acidic fumes.
It doesn't take much hydrofluoric acid to do damage and even kill - you could only put your hand in HF and it would kill you (it doesn't kill you because it's an acid, it kills because it penetrates your skin, travels around your body and reacts with different tissues, such as bone and also causes a build up of toxic substances).

    • @mask938
      @mask938 Před 11 měsíci

@@steves1015 I think the reason it didn’t kill the family is because the acid was injected straight into William and it took a little while before it melted his body enough to leak out and start evaporating. Basically, the Abbotts survived because William had unintentionally shielded them from most of the acid. I wouldn’t be surprised if the doors to the Abbott’s and Pamela’s cages opened automatically after William died.

There were lots of ways to avoid true punishment, for both involved. He could use his clothes to block the sprayers, giving him much more time to get the key. He could, as you said, use his clothes as a barrier to prevent burning off sections of his face. He could have just been faster instead of stewing about the decision (granted that's the point of the trial -- they expect him to take forever to decide).

7:25 the thing about the tongue trap was that even if he jumped and ripped out his tongue we would still certainly die. The tongue connected to just about everything in your head. I’m not entirely sure where in the muscles would tear out, but at the very least it would sever the lingual artery and you would undoubtedly bleed to death, or at the very least choke on your own blood, without a tongue it’d be very difficult to keep the blood flow out of your airways and you’d need immediate medical attention, you’d most likely bleed out or choke within minutes. The tongue is also connected to the mandible and the temporal bone, meaning it is very possible that either the tendons connecting the tongue to the jaw and skull would break, making basically your entire throat come out of your mouth, and even if you immediately get treated after the fall you would still lose your ability to move your lower jaw and your ability to swallow, meaning no talking, no solid food, and an extremely high chance of choking for the rest of your limited life. It is unlikely he would survive the initial impact, but even if he did he would have seconds to minutes to live and would most likely pass out from blood loss/shock before he can get anywhere close to help.

scalping _can_ totally kill you, if medical attention isn't received quickly enough. you can definitely bleed to death. however, there have been multiple people in real life who have survived scalping! for example, a young girl whose hair got caught in an amusement park ride-- unfortunately i can't remember her name. but she survived luckily.
basically, its up to circumstance; timing, how slow the process is, and how deep the cut is. slow scalping was a form of torture if i remember correctly, and the recipients of similar processes like flaying could've been kept alive for days during the torture depending on how well the torturer was at skinning them. the woman in the scalping chair probably would've survived if she was quick enough to call for help.

It was actually during the Angel Trap at the beginning of Saw 3, didn't even get to see the trap go off. I've mostly watched the others (sans 4) through videos like this as well. I'm not epileptic or anything, but that was the sickest and worst I've ever felt and never risking doing that again.

I mean not exactly. When the key dropped in Kerry woke up and realized that she was in a trap then then Jigsaw voice played. The key was still accessed but the key didnt unlock and stop the device as it should have. Its hard to say if it was an Amanda trap when the movie first came out. I would have considered it to be John's trap bc Amanda had a choice to live so why shouldn't others? If you truly knew before finding out for sure but congrats. The best twists that stuck with me was John being in the bathroom the whole time, Amanda revealing she was an accomplice to Jigsaw and she pulled a Bathroom trap undercover move like John just by pretending she was there to play a game when really she was there to make sure they followed the rules and of course the Hoffman being an accomplice reveal too. Though I did have a suspicion by how he was acting when Agent Strahm was giving his speech about how he was here to find the one helping Jigsaw and Amanda Young. Also finally getting to witness more of Dr Gordons story after the events of Saw 1. Its gonna be hard to top those twists. Jigsaw is most hated but I like it and the twist with Logan was good just not as Epic as the others. I never seen Spiral but I already had an idea who the killer was and then I took a dive into the spoilers at the end to have it confirmed again lol.

@RebelGaming4U you need to rewatch. The key did unlock the padlock and it allowed Kerry to remove a vest or whatever. All it did was reveal to her that the mechanism was lodged into her ribs with no way to remove it. If you watch the film she clearly unlocks the lock, removes the covering, and freaks out about seeing the mechanism with no way to remove it. The likely scenario is that underneath the covering that was padlocked on, John probably designed a mechanism with a lever or switch to go underneath that would have disengaged the moving parts of the trap from her rib cage. Amanda probably simply removed this mechanism at some point and locked the cover back on.

For me, the pig vat trap is one of the best in the series. If all traps were like that, jigsaw's dogma would be more believable: the trap allows you to be vengeful and keep living in the past, or respect life and allow you, and the one who wronged you, to move forward. It truly feels more believable and works better in building a more 'sympathetic" psychopath. Also, traps like this work with his " Im not a murderer" bullshit since all the person trapped has to do in order to save the other person is forgiving them. ( Obviously he's still a murderer but this would work better in creating an interesting ethical debate)
But of course, gore and over the top traps sells more tickets than a more intense thriller with psychological oriented traps. Not trying to sound more intelligent or anything, it just works better commercially and I can see why they didn't used these kind of traps more. But for me, Saw 3 it's the best in the series for these reason.

Ignoring the fact that it was designed by Hoffman to be unwinnable, it feels like it’s just teetering the line of being possible if you had the will to live. My favorite is definitely the needle pit trap. I was in and out of the hospital a lot as a kid and had to deal with a lot of painful IVs. This was the first trap I ever saw. I was in 3rd grade and my mom was watching it while my brother and I were getting ready for school. It scared the hell out of me. It's funny. I'm still afraid of getting a shot/IV. But I'm about to graduate with my BSN in nursing. The irony is not lost on me at all

My top 5 (in order, very hard to do)
1: PIG VAT, grossed me out to the core and was tragic. Bonus points to the Judge getting blasted later
2: HAND TRAP/Razor Box, most likely not even meant for Addison. The sheer simplicity of the injuries are more relatable than most traps. The small hint of how to escape the trap that almost all of us had to be told to look out for on a second watch is golden.
3: SHOTGUN CAROUSEL: Not for the kills, but for the psychological unravelling of the wolves as they use their minds to eat each other alive. Props to the final victim as he takes the time of approaching certain death to give Easton a piece of his mind.
4: POUND OF FLESH, sold almost entirely by Tanedra Howard's acting, her indescribably terrifying facial expression as she hacks away at her arm may be one of the most iconic captures in the history of horror films
5: BRAZEN BULL, a horrifying death that Joyce never deserved, its the only trap in the entire franchise that a. I Actually searched to find the name of the trap after I saw the film and b. I recognized in another film that came out the following year (Immortals)

It’s one of the few where I genuinely think the survivor walks away with something good and is actually freer than they were before the trap. I also like the fact the spikes weren’t stabbing Morgan in any vital areas so it was easier for her to win? When Sarah gave her criteria for hers, they fit perfectly with my favorite trap, that being The Blender from Jigsaw, idk why, but the idea of using the wheels of a broken down motorcycle that was used to kill your nephew as gears that rotate a giant blade of a silo with a motorcycle brake at the bottom was just so out of left field for me, and i genuinely don’t know if any other trap competes with it in terms of creativity, also the way John introduced this trap is what also got me, as soon as Mitch played the tape, a rope snagged his legs, hoisted him up, and left him dangling above the trap, also, the tape was just executed perfectly.
“Hello Mitch, you’ve admitted to selling a boy a motorcycle, but you’ve not told the entire story have you? 600$ for a bike that you listed, in excellent condition, even though you knew the brakes were faulty, you took his 600 bucks, and in return you delivered him to his end. He was my nephew, and he never hurt anyone. The device you see here has a unique power source, it’s the same engine that graced the bike you sold my nephew, however I assure you the brake lever for his one works perfectly. Avoid the dangers around you, hit the motorcycle brake handle, and the motor will stop. Live or Die Mitch, the choice is yours.”

Throw your shirt and pants over the spray, then you have an infinite amount of time to get the key and it wont be blasting her with cold water anymore. To not burn your face, rather take off your socks or underwear and use it temporarily as a barrier while you grab the key - unlock the girl, grab your frozen clothes back and exit the room together. Eventually, your frozen clothes will melt and you can put them back on again later.

The only "success" story we have is a woman who found an entirely new vice and became something of a jealous girlfriend who sought to punish people rather than save them. Dr. Gordon is a success story, in John's eyes, but he had to serve John instead of live his own life away from all of this.
Some of the people in that survivor's group weren't even unappreciative to begin with, along with many people in the traps, since "unappreciative" kept serving as a catchall term for anyone John wanted to put into a trap. Simone ("Little Miss Handicapped Parking") was right to call out how much bullshit it was, even if John's got an interesting philosophy (which clearly didn't even work for himself).

Are you serious? She said she wasn't sure. There are also accounts of people surviving a scalping in real life, both the intentional kind and the accidental kind.

Cupid's arrow - chef's kiss!! I also cringe every single time Amanda falls (sorry, is thrown) into the needle pit **ugh, shudder**. I also love the concept of Saw V, starting with the Neck Tie Trap and on (I also love Megan Goode and Julie Benz).

My favorite is 10 pints. The psychological torture of realizing they had to work together plus the physical torture plus they survive makes it 100% my top.😊

For the freezer trap, I think it was liquid nitrogen instead of water, given that she froze so quickly. So it's a little more realistic.

The spike trap had a lot of raw emotion I thought served it well. My main is issue is that with all those spikes going through major arteries two being the jugular and femoral arteries that dude was dead from the start even if the wife chose not to pull the spikes. I don’t think is a way for any medical team to be able to prevent him from bleeding out. This means that Jigsaw (or Hoffman and Amanda but most likely Gordon because his medical knowledge) killed him which goes against Jigsaw’s code. You could say this with traps in Saw 3 too, but those Jeff is given a choice to help those escape from traps they couldn’t themselves. In Jigsaw’s mind not helping is akin to murder taking the blame for their deaths off his conscience.
