When I saw Dean Ray Pritchard in his first X-Factor Australia 2014 audition, his countenance was exciting in the same way as that of an eagle with its gaze locked onto its prey: It's going to get it! Dean is the perfect example of what a human looks like when they pay attention to what is coming to them. Dean's gaze shifts to each of the judges in turn and it does not waiver. He is wholly attentive to what they say. That degree of attention is testimony to the respect and regard he has for those who speak to him. That is an admirable characteristic, worthy of emulation. Add to that characteristic Dean's vocal ability, guitar-playing ability, stage presence, affability, and willingness to demonstrate his emotional response, and you have a star. May he enjoy his success. BTW - I like his rendition of Sympathy for the Devil more than the original.
They are 3 very different acts and it is all going to come to the music taste. Honestly, I would listen to all 3 on the radio and watch them on tv but would buy Dean's music on iTunes and go to his concert because I prefer his style of music but it still that doesn't mean the other two acts were very talented and deserved the spot tonight. I hope all 3 get a record contracts.

I carefully watched Dean and Marlisa perform. Marlisa is beautiful and sings well for a fifteen year old. Here goes - there are thousands of school girls who sing as well as she. There is only one Dean Ray with the talent, the raw stage presence, the appeal, many faceted, and musical acrimony to be a universally international star. Voting 14 year olds are going to make that choice. Ridiculous.

I think I have watched every video and listened to every song he has out up to date. During the x factor I felt they tried to change Dean's style a little. I thought his fire was snuffed down a few times with the music they had him perform. Still, he came to the plate and did it. He pulled all of it off with style and managed not to lose himself. I absolutely love him. I am a performer myself and I can tell you when folks start trying to change you it pulls you down like water on a fire. In this video they talked about Elvis, and Morrison. I agree with the fact that I can see a little of that but Dean has this persona that is bigger than being compared or aligned with our late greats. It seems as if he has kind of slowed down these days. I know he deals with depression so that could be some of that but I want to see him come back out. He is so talented and has such a spiritual effect when he is 'HIM" and not what anyone wants to put in a box. I know he will resurface with a vengeance. He has such a humble way about him but he demands his audience and they hang on a thread with him. Love it!

I liked his audition version of this song better. He did it justice solo with all the dynamic changes, interludes, percussive pickups and little solo. It was more impressive than playing with the backing musicians to see him orchestrate and arrange the song for a solo acoustic performance.
If Dean Ray comes to America, I am buying tickets, because he plays and sings, he is an entertainer. If Marlisa comes to the states, she ain't selling any tickets. So those that voted for her, good luck watching a good concert maybe you can download her songs 400 times like you voted for her, she will need it. It's really sad this year has become the Filipino X Factor because of the way some of Marlisa's fans go about things, last year was very different and Dami Im was liked by many people in general. You can down vote other contestants videos, talk crap about them and view Marlisa's videos as many times as you like, it won't make a difference for sales in Australia though.

Agree totally. This guy is a true musician and yet people can't see it. They want the boring production pop. All you have to do is look at the dislikes above. They will all be from one contestant's supporters. The Hillsong Church and other evangelical churches always enter a whole lot of people into these shows and then manipulate the voting with massive block voting and they won again. Dean Ray will succeed and be more successful than any of them.

She can sing alone on stage without dancers or any props.. Dean's single is not for Finali.. Wrong choice of song.. It's entertaining to everyone but nothings unique..
Dean should have won, Marlisa sings notes, and doesn't perform or connect with me. Like watching a doll or mannequin sing. I felt this song choice was a mistake and hurt Dean's chances. The audition was a special moment, this cheapened it for me. A great freaking performance but didn't provide another great Dean moment/showcase.
