    As retired military I can assure you "thumping" or "bumping" is the friendliest way an interceptor pilots says "get out of my airspace" before engaging the targeting radar.

China has been increasingly threatening with their military practices lately. If they tried flying into US airspace they would be chased off or shot down, not thumped and run.

      The Philippines have ZERO claim on the Spratly Islands.
      Other countries, like _Vietnam,_ can claim historical ownership. But not the Philippines. For the simple reason that the Philippines as a country was formed by way of treaty between two other countries. And those treaties very clearly define the limits of Philippines territory.

      Ok? Surveillance aircraft conduct patrols all the time. The Chinese spy on the US and the US spy back. It’s also possible that it’s an AWACS and is patrolling looking to see if any Chinese fighters are causing trouble

      It is a RC-135 operated by the USAF, basically everyone know it’s a surveillance aircraft. Besides it is operating in the South China Sea which technically speaking isn’t China’s territory (although China claim it is)

      @@megatroll2590 if you want to talk who claim what.. Historically a countries especially western countries have claims many many land or island that are not thiers. Like Hawaii or Falkland island now that absurd claim while China is still right in their own backyard, while how much can be clamed is dabateable, but almost all ASEAN nation has claim the lcs. Like vietnam claim almots reaching filipine or wirst Taiwan with its old 11 dash line larger the what China has claimed they all have claimed large portion of SCS. Nut only China id challenged by west.. Why? Because only China has the power to defend their claim and wesr are trying to hold their hegemonic power in the region.. Thats the only reason western nation keep coming abd stirup issue like this..
      While among ASEAN and China has border issue but it will not become a conflict, however contries that are not from the region is the one who the fanning tension up.

      @krisg822 tell me when they haven't? It literally happens all the time. We don't make a big deal about it, because we could splash them in the blink of an eye if we wanted to. We don't, because they can't get anything of value by hanging out off the coast, and they won't violate our airspace because we'd smoke them and add their plane to our collection.

The United States Navy forced the surrounding Middle Eastern countries to refuse docking rights to the Yinhe, leaving it in the INTERNATIONAL WATER of the Indian Ocean for twenty-four days.Additionally the Chinese claimed that the GPS of the ship was jammed such that the ship could not navigate. Eventually inspections of the ship's cargo by a joint Saudi-United States team concluded that the cargo ship did NOT contain any chemical weapons precursors. The U.S. government stated that there would be NO apology, saying "the United States had acted in good faith on intelligence from multiple sources."
