- Not all Newfoundlanders are born here. Some who are born here leave, but many come back. Today, the people of Newfoundland and Labrador come from everywhere.
In this video, we are pleased to introduce you to folks from all over the world who call Newfoundland home. New Canadians and local returnees are adding to the small business landscape in the St. John's area, and the multicultural offerings are making the city ever more rich.
Big thank you to everyone here, and please stay tuned for each person's full interview, which will be made available here on this channel over the coming weeks (and months).
Thank you to:
Gustavo at 1949 Barber Shop at Torbay Road Mall and Village Mall
Afiya at Curry Delight on Park Ave in Mount Pearl

Hi! I'm Nigeria and I look to move to NL soon. Were you able to move to NL?
Thank you for this Video, I'm a Nigerian and seeking a beautiful and peaceful place like noofinland, located in the east, and gets first Sunlight. I and My family would surely Love it here.
God bless
My grandmother used to live on Empire Avenue in the 1980s. I used to buy Nan's Caramilk bar in the SpiceX store as a kid. It's great to see the diversity in that neighborhood now.
This is a place that a lot of ppl have fond memories of. I remember as a kid in the 90s that they sold single cigarettes for 50 cents and 3 for a dollar 😆 If we could find a friend’s older brother or sister with a drivers license that would let us in their car on Friday night we’d get them to drive down there and grab a buck or 2 worth of smokes for us. Whatever change we could scrounge up, and we were good to go haha
@Mark Royle My Nan would give me a note for the cashier to give me cigarettes when I was 8 or 9 years old. They'd never allow that nowadays lol. 😊
@@paulkavanagh3361 haha! The all powerful note! Life was so much easier for trouble-making kids back in those days.
Wow.. now i'm convinced.. I need to find job there.. I hope a company will hire me.
the nicest people in the world

Hi Mark, where would be a place to start to immigrate to Newfoundland? One of my best friends lives in Bay Roberts and I am seriously considering moving there from North Carolina, USA. Any advice?
Hi, feel free to send me an email: info@1497canada.com
Dial back the music. I want to hear them speak.
Unfortunately you entirely missed the history of Newfoundland and it’s people. These are recent immigrants and also seemingly good people… but these people are new comers and while I’m glad they can enjoy Newfoundland. They are not the part that made Newfoundland such a special place to begin with. Let’s see the CULTURE of Newfoundland next time ya?
This wasn't a history video. I do have history/culture videos on my channel too, and I enjoy making them, but I also enjoy creating videos like this one that make me feel good about the future of NL
Sounds a little racist for being a newfoundlander. I was born there and love it but it is a better place with the new immigrants.
