from what I have seen Kaedim is actually not using AI to generate but exploiting freelancers for quick modelling, can you comment on your experience with it? and if you got to test it out for free or actually paid the absurd prices if it were actual AI generation?
So they approached me as a tester and potential future sponsor, so I got to test it for "free" in exchange for feedback.
I had the same worry that you expressed in your comment, however after trying it out I noticed 2 things that convinced me that at least for the most part the assets are in fact AI generated:
1. first, the generation times are crazy fast, I'm talking 5-10min to get something quite complex... I personnaly don't know any modelers that could model complex characters that fast... it seems improbable to me.
2. Second, the mistakes that are made are weird, like it messes up with fingers and other stuff (ading a 6th finger... etc) which wouldn't happen to a Human since... generally humans know that we have 5 fingers XD.
What I do also know is that the generated meshes do often go through a quality control process where if necessary they get slightly retouched by their 3D art team... how much retouching happens and how well these artists are paid, that I don't know.

Also, note that I don't actually know what goes on behind the scenes, I can't prove or disprove anything, this is simply my experience and the logical conclusion I came to.
@@Floky I see, what worries me is that they use the word AI only for marketing, the thing is, looking at the cost and the generation it just doesn't add up if it's an AI model even if just slightly tweaked by some modellers that they might have hired. Also why would things slip up like 6 fingers if it's reviewed by a modellers before sending, it seems like they try to have the look of AI generation for the fingers since it's known that it struggles with those kinds of generations and maybe they are just adding little errors to make it seem more likely to be AI.
I'm only proposing this "theory" since everything just does not add up, for a private company like them to have such an advanced model generation (that even bigger companies cannot achieve right now) without it even being open source seems fishy.
but yeah adding to it, try to compare other currently available AI 3d model generators to this one, the Kaedim generations just stand out
@@otDan I mean, I get what your saying... I just personally think it's not possible... Having 3D modelers on standby 24h and then the 3D modelers modeling at speeds that for me are simply not humanly possible is to be proof enough...
From the way I understand it quality check isn't performed on every model but more in random picks but they do have 3D artists that fix up your models if you report it on their discord server...
When it comes to pricing... I simply think that for now there is no real competitor so they don't need to reduce or adapt the price...
Finally to your argument about bigger company not having 3D modeling Ai is not entirely true, I know a few companies that have seriously impressive text to 3D, it's simply not available to the public yet... Also, there is a small company called sloyd which will also release a text to 3D Ai in the near future...
Not sure what the truth behind all this is but only time will tell I guess 😁

Kaedim3d is only accessible if you are rich. The payment system is outrageous. 150$ a month for the cheapest option plus you have to buy credits each time you generate something. So not only do you have to pay for the subscription but you also have to pay every time you generate something.

Is there any alternative site that does the same thing as Kaedim3d? I want to do something similar to this but I cant really afford $20 per asset, and $150 a month haha
The golem parts can all be nanite meshes. As in keep all the little boulders that make up the golem and convert them to nanite meshes in UE. This is what Epic did in one of the demos they released. I think it was Valley of the Acients, the giant boss at the end that shoots lazers out of its hand. There's not a ton of use cases for nanite meshes on a skele mesh, but a golem is the archetype use case.

Speaking of animations, you can use the program called "Cascadeur".
In this program you can make good animation fast with assistance of an AI, which is physics based.
You literally make simple keyframes and the AI interpolates the animation, so it looks natural and alive.
I've heard about the software for a while but never got to actually try it :D

There's no way on planet earth I'm spending 200$ to start turning 2d into 3d. I can just do it myself in an hour or so at that point

This is the problem with AI and true creativity... If you ask chat GPT (or sidekick) for a new turret for a tower defense game... it can't actually give you anything "new", it can only suggest things that have been done before. At best it can attempt to combine elements that have gone before. But here it didn't even do that. The tesla coil has been done multiple times in tower defense games.
This is not a knock on you, your game or even AI, it's a comment on using AI effectively. If people don't reiterate on what AI gives them back, you'll just end up with the same as what someone did before you. Don't get me wrong, people generate ideas in the exact same way AI does, just slower... we combine things that have gone before hopefully in to something new. But the originality comes from reiterating on ideas and designs, even if they have been influenced by other ideas that went before.
Just like yourself, I'll be using AI to help me create games (table top pen and paper games) and even though I have worked as a concept artist for almost 30 years, like yourself, we have to keep up with the times and I'll also be using AI to help with the art duties....
But...
As a tool to help, I certainly wont just settle with whatever AI gives me back. Best of luck with the game

There is one that looks promising and is partially free, it's called Latent Lab

for less than that you can find a freelancer on upwork to do it for you. And no shady enterprise gets a cut. Since kaedim uses freelancers as well

Kaedim is a scam btw, they don't actually use AI. They just pay someone in a cheap country like India to make the model. Cool video otherwise!
I checked it out and it seems that they do have 3D modelers (can't confirm the origin) but only to fix up meshes that need it after you report it, but they are AI... Believe me, I spammed their service and there is no way a modeler made these assets at that speed, also the mistakes the ai made sometimes are illogical to make as a human.
I can't confirm how much human input the models get but I do Know that the ai is real 😁
But, that's just my opinion, no facts to back it, just my own experience 😁

If this company wasn't a scam that crutches on workers from poorer countries they would share what the AI designs look like before they get "touched up". However all requests to do so get people banned from their servers and their CEO refuses any interviews that discuss this topic.
If you were being honest about this product you would add a huge disclaimer about this service.
I def do not think that I'm dishonest... I found something I thought was cool, got to use it for free, tried it a bit, and made a video about it. That is all XD
I know there is quite a bit of uncertainty with kaedim legitimacy, and I personally don't have any proof of anything either... My personal opinion is that there has to be some kind of ai doing the modeling because I got the models crazy fast (1-3 min after putting up the image). I also had some encounters where I put a picture in and got some very funny results which a human wouldn't do.
Maybe I'll look into it and ask the ceo if he has something I could show as proof that it's AI.

My tower defence game is on pause for now, however I don't think steam will continue to block ai stuff or at least they won't if you can prove you actually have the rights to the ai stuff you made
The finals (a new big game on steam) openly uses AI for their voice acting and Steam allowed it since they could prove that they had all the rights to the stuff they used

I hope AI modeling text to 3D and image to 3D gets better and cheaper. I also hope AI rigging and animating software for both humanoid, animals, and monsters will be available and cheap. It will be incredible easy to make a 3D game or video, once AI becomes ubiquitous and cheap. Maybe there will be AGI which could make most of the game with much a little managing and custom tweaking with what it makes.
On one hand it would be cool, but on the other hand I fear that games will become even more lifeless and unoriginal 🤔
lol if games can be make easily then any one can make games in result there will be many games but the players are less so no one buy any games. The players only buy the super high-quality realistic games which make by big companies no one care about the small games what you think to make. world want more batter game in future more realistic in graphic and mechanics. so its just a waste of time to make game from ai because no buddy gonna play that stupid low quality game. remember if the things got easier there will be no value of it no one care about that.

I recommend you look into Sloyd, they aren't generating anything with AI but they have very customizable assets and will in the near future have a "Text to 3D" ai feature. They are free atm but that will soon change BUT Knowing them the price will be more than fair!

And 10-15 minutes to create that character is totally capable a Human 3D modeler.

@@Zoulenx but I wasn't talking about the character in the video, I was talking about previous renders I did while I did some testing, some models lacked logic, like fingers were messed up, the wings of a plane were crooked and faces were not right.

pricing of Kaedim is stupid. Starter is 150 usd with 10 credits, Indie 300 usd with 20 credits. That means you can max create 20 models with Indie plan.
You can easily hire freelance 3d modeler for that price for gods sake. even 2 3 maybe.

If you're looking for a good alternative, you should look into Sloyd. They have a very cool solution for customisable assets and are actually working on a text->3D ai generator that should be released pretty soon! It won't be free but I know them and I can guarantee that their pricing will be extremely fair and affordable 😉

I still work with 3D artists and Ai won't replace them. They will enhance and accelerate the job they are doing but not replace them 😉
came here to get info on converting image to 3d model, instead got video of person non-stop talking about how ai will change the world. drop the opinions dude, everyone knows what ai is, dont need a 3rd rate view on the subject.
I mean... I mostly showcased my game and how I use AI to my advantage... I didn't make a tutorial video... So I'm sorry if that's the video you expected but that's now what this video is.

You should not be worid of AI....yet. As long the AI is in human power it will allways be limited by the imagination of the human (for the most part). When AI know how to learn other AI's. Then yeah.. you can begin to worry

AI generation is lazy, cheap, soulless and shamelessly relient on stolen work. Really disappointing, this stuff needs to be regulated and I'm glad they are already not eligible for copyright protection.
I mostly agree with you, that's why I'm mostly using it for prototyping, I have 3D artists making this game with me, every Ai generated asset will be replaced by a hand modeled one.
That said, I think Ai is the logical next step and I don't see as a "Souless" option, I see it as an amazing tool... You could use the "Lazy, cheap and soulless " arguments for every new tool... When digital art was introduced I'm sure all the artists using canvas and paint said the same thing.
The fact that AI was trained on art without the consent of artists is morally wrong, I agree with that, and I wish it would have been done otherwise... But other than that I think Ai is a revolutionary tool that if used right will make life for Game developers quite a bit easier

It's not fake... It is however overpriced to the point where I could agree with calling it a scam xD
AI makes bad progress in 3d modeling and art, most of it seems very fake and generated 3D ai modeling cannot be compared to the work made by 3d model artists, sure you can rely on the development to make basic.. logical games but it will never be original and creative as real games created with hand made digital assets, AI will alyways be limited to the concept people give to it and thus there is less a number of freedom in its use.
