Anlässlich des 25. Jahrestages der Gründung der Deutsche Demokratische Republik (DDR),
fand am Vorabend des Jubiläums ein großer Zapfenstreich des Ehrenbataillon der Nationalen Volksarmee (NVA), auf der Straße, Unter den Linden in Berlin, vor der Neuen Wache, dem Mahnmal für die Opfer des Faschismus und Militarismus, statt.
