This is the first time I think I've seen one of these $10 meals _actually_ only cost ten dollars (stolen egg and sidewalk onions notwithstanding, of course).
Most of the time, whenever these $10 dinner challenges show up, the chefs in question start adding all sorts of extra spices and powders and stuff they already happened to have in their kitchen that they I guess just _assume_ everybody has.

you made our national dish pretty good, Bryndzové halušky, only complaint is that you used inauthentic Bryndza, Bryndza is not brined and has very different consistency
also the bacon you used, we usually use more fatty bacon and green onion is just.. we don't do that here

its a slovakian national dish called Halušky :) the base is bryndza which is a sheep cheese it has a very distinct flavour

Also: Bryndza is delicious, made also in my region. And it’s nothing about exchanging it for „feta cheese” like this guy said. Original Bryndza is a way different of Feta (don’t even we talk about Feta substitutes and „Feta-Style-cheeses”).
