My sister has had several injuries from horses. and she is an expert rider. People forget that horses are tremendously strong, and easily spooked.

So true, and the unexpected happens in a nano-second with our beautiful equine friends. The Princess Royal is someone who is very horse-savvy indeed, but sometimes an injury can occur through sheer bad luck. I trust she will recover quickly - concussion can be very unpleasant indeed.

I fell and hit my head on the edge of a sidewalk suffering a broken arm, hand,
a brain bleed and concussion at 77. I was a bit cobfused and crotchety for a few days, thankfully, i😊⤠recovered very well by following dr orders. Im 81.5 yrs old now, living on my own, doing my own housework and cooking. HRH PRINCESS ANNE WILL BE FINE SHE IS QUITE HEALTHY.

My daughter and l had the lamb stew. Absolutely heavenly. I’m sure it was nowhere near as good as actually eating in Ireland. I’m so happy your American experience was one that left you smiling. They are very respectful and both educated in Oxford, with the Empress did her BA at Harvard in economics. The late QEII and Prince Philip, and our current King have been friends with them for decades. It’s really delightful to see them meet again after all these years. â¤

During the 16 year period that I had worked at Barneys, I had the immense pleasure of seeing Rollerena on a regular basis and so much so that she would stop by and chat with all of us who worked in the area at the time. Indeed, I often found myself alone chatting with her about all kinds of subjects. She was very lovely and funny. She could be very serious at times but when I say funny I mean an absolute hoot! I feel really privileged to have witnessed just a glimpse of something magical and iconic from another time in New York City just before it disappeared.
Regretful, I recently learned that she had died. RIP

I live near Washington D.C. where we were gifted cherry trees by the Japanese emperor about a century ago. Apparently our climate is similar to Tokyo, and most of the trees have flourished. If you can’t visit Japan, stop here for our cherry blossom festival some year! I think you’ll find that D.C. is quite fruity.

We had a horse who was the most gentle to ride but would panic at the sight of a shadow on the ground. Needless to say, blinders were used while riding. Princess Anne is an excellent rider but even an animal you're familiar with can be dangerous. Wishing her a full and speedy recovery.
I understand that amnesia is quite common following a head injury. The memory may come back later but the brain has a way of protecting us following a trauma.
I fell off a horse and all I remember is the horse bolting and then being on the ground, even though I had no head injuries. I was lucky to get away with a broken wrist and some toes, so I think the trauma response definitely has something to do with it.
This is very true. I had a bad auto accident way back in 1973 and to this day I still can’t remember everything - just a few flashes here and there! It’s just the way the brain takes care of itself.

River..I grieve with you over the passing of an era that Queen Elizabeth held dear (being well trained by Queen Mary). She kept the mystery and maintained the manners of a soon to be bygone age.

I just learned that the Williamson pink diamond broach is worth 33 million dollars and is one of the most expensive and rarest diamonds in the Queen's collection. It looked right at home on Queen Camilla and I'm happy to see it out and about in all its gorgeous glory.

I spent a year and a day in Japan 35 years ago and loved every minute. Japanese people were kind, hospitable, and beautifully dressed in either Japanese kimono or well-tailored British-inspired fashion. A friend who spent time in Japan before me advised me to wear navy blue not black.
The Queen is definitely bringing the glamour in the absence of our lovely Princess of Wales. Your point about the selfies being a slippery slope is well taken. I agree wholeheartedly, although a small, petty part of me likes to imagine how bothered the Montecito Madam would be by this photo and the overwhelming adoration of the Wales’.

Because the head injury interrupts the process of memory being transferred from the hippocampus, where short-term memory is stored, to the temporal lobe, where long-term memory is stored, it is very common for memory loss to occur during a TBI. And, it is very likely that she will never recall the actual injury-causing event because, with the transference process being interrupted, the memory will most likely be permanently lost. But, that doesn't necessarily mean that there will be permanent damage to her short- or long-term memory.
Having been in showbiz and revolved in that world, it IS a vulgar world and should be kept, with a polite smile and fascinated courtesy, at the length of a Royal arm. None of the awful "huggi-huggi: kissi-kissi" of today should be adopted. It really DOES lower the tone!!!

I had a concussion due to interaction with one of my horses and I have no memory of the incident. My physician called it retrograde amnesia . Evidently it is vey common with head injuries to lose memory surrounding the incident. I pray for the princess royal’s quick recovery

However, like you say, there's room for appreciation of both pop and classical music.
I studied music history and appreciation at university and I'd attend chamber music and classical music concerts, but still loved jazz, blues and some more "refined" rock.
Studying the arts is a gift to yourself that lasts a lifetime.

A concussion is a TBI.
If it’s true that she cannot remember what happened and she is 73 years; then it is prudent to have her monitored in a hospital setting.
Is in hospital being checked by doctors as we speak!

I was almost 70 when I sustained a TBI. It took me about three months to get over the immediate effects which was sensitivity to light, some nausea, and some confusion. I did fully recover after that, but I’ve never been quite the same. I am 73 now and have secondary issues with the brain. I will always believe the two are connected. Wishing Princess Anne A full and speedy recovery.

It’s taken years to put my life back together again.
Anyone who spends time with horses ends up injured eventually. They're huge animals and things just happen. Accidentally stepping on toes, wack by the head, startled kick/jump.
And yet idiots out there let there toddler and infant children practically nose to nose with a horse or did u see where a toddler was leading a horse with a rope..and mama said how safe it was ..
@@marywalker2896 I agree there's idiots out endangering kids, but there's also kids raised with horse sense where the danger is minimal. I wouldn't let my niece be in control of my horse at 12 but had no issue with my 6 year old son with the same horse. The difference is one was raised with horses and one wasn't. I still wouldn't allow my niece to be in control and she's in her 30s.

I spent my teen years working around horses & my dad owned a couple of mares for a time. I have been thrown twice that I remember & stepped on plenty. I have seen broken bones & bites & ripped out hair.
Wishing Princess Anne, our hardest working Royal a speedy recovery. Apparently memory loss is common in head injuries. Princess will be very upset to miss any of her duties. Get well soon.
I think it's good to introduce children to the classical arts....you never know what that exposure will lead to.
