    I would call this restoration 'miraculous', but that would grossly short-sell the hard work, ingenuity, perseverance, and dedication put into this.
    So I'll say that I am forever awed by what I've seen, and that any carnival or amusement park operator would be more than fortunate to have you on their payroll.

      Thanks so much! I really appreciate it. Hopefully we get it finished up sooner rather than later.

    That put a smile on my face seeing the kids go for a test ride.

    I think the kinds of companies that rent out bouncy houses would want to buy this ride once it's all fixed up. It would be pretty cool at a kids party or a BBQ.

    Great progress, Pete. What a tremendous amount of work. Home stretch now! Scott’s a heck of a welder too.

    Such a cool project. I am 57 and still dream of having my own little carnival rides in my backyard. Maybe a little more exciting than the one in this video, though.

      Well truthfully I’d like to graduate to some more exciting rides as well, but I need to get these ones done before taking on anything else.

      @@PeteRondeau Those big rides require a lot of power!

    Looks like there's still plenty to be done, but you've definitely gotten it over the hump of rebuilding it and making sure it'll live to ride again! Plus you're doing it in a thorough and tasteful way rather than just sandblasting it, hitting it with a lick of paint for the thumbnail, and then it rotting away once you're through because all of the real problems you've done a great job fixing still needed to be done. Great job, and good luck with getting it fully beautified and ready to ride! Too many old machines like this get run into the ground and scrapped when money gets tight. It's good to see one getting a loving restoration and encore life!
    As for a new shop space, it's hard to beat steel buildings, up in a day, can be insulated between the frame and skin. just don't get one from a side-of-the-rural-highway place that sells them financed unless you're paying for it outright. They're often extortionate with loan rates.

    You still made your deadline! Or at least kinda 😅
    Why those quick links if there are already some kind of quick links on the cains? Or did they not fit?
    The car hangs very low to me.

    • @PeteRondeau
      @PeteRondeau  Před 10 měsíci

      Yeah that will need to be addressed. The existing hooks are way too large for the straps and there were links on the old straps. We’ll probably get rid of the hooks entirely.

    Question when you installed the bottom shaft with the chain sprocket did you grease that shaft, it didn't look like you did it. Did you go back and do it later.

    • @PeteRondeau
      @PeteRondeau  Před 8 měsíci

      We sprayed kroil on the shaft prior to sliding it on. The sprocket has grease fittings and we greased it, and the top bearing after it was assembled.
