- Follow us as we take an evening stroll around Fowey, guided by the local Tourist Guide booklet. We hunt for the oldest building in Fowey, discovery some beautiful river views and explore the church. Our stroll takes us all the way to Caffa Mill and the Bodinnick Ferry which lands next to 'Ferryside', a house owned by Daphne Du Maurier's family.
Thanks for another superb video.
Fowey is so lovely. I miss it.
I must admit I’d never even heard of fowey until a competition to win a beautiful house in the area. What a fantastic place.
Well narrated and uncluttered video...
My husband Dad and I stayed at the King of Prussia two years ago. Stayed in the two rooms at the front on second floor...we have wonderful memories! Thx for this trip down memory lane!
What a lovely and interesting video
Wonderful video! Thank you for posting it!! Looking forward to my upcoming stay in Fowey now!!
Fowey & Fowey estuary area looks a must visit , been to St Mawgan / Mawgan Porth. I am torn between Cornwall & on the other coast , Norfolk. Very clear for estuary water ...unlike the River Great Ouse and the whole Wash !!!
The funniest man I've ever watched on CZcams, broke 2 ribs listening to the sheer comedy gold.
Vielen Dank und nun habe ich noch ein Urlaubsziel mehr! Bitte bleibt so wie ihr seid. Ich sende euch ein Herz
You're welcome, glad you enjoyed the video, Cornwall is a great holiday destination! thank you for your kind comment, Sarah :)
Lovely walk, Fowey is so old. Love Andrew's new title. I look forward to having my Friday morning coffee and enjoying your latest video. Thanks for sharing this beautiful place with us.
Hi Lori, glad you enjoy our content - we try and vary it, make it interesting! Sarah :)
What a beautiful place!
So nice❤️
Lovely walk around Fowey, beautiful, wish I was there. thanks Bets
Whao amazing
Really love all your videos !! Thank you so much.
I am a bookseller and just reading some Thriller, setting in Cornwall and one in particular in Fowey. Now I recommend to my customers watching your Fowey-video while reading 😉
Ooo! Sounds interesting! What is the name of the book? Always enjoy a good read about local places, Sarah :)
@@CornishWalkingTrails " The Cornish Coast Murder" written by John Bude and "Walks in the Footsteps of Daphne du Maurier " by Sue Kittow / "Stableford" by Rob Reef .
I enjoy to read the books and to watch your videos to see this amazing landscape. And later to travel and see by myself all those wonderful places, pubs, churches you discover for us.
💟💟💟
I will have to look out for these. I have the Sue Kittow Poldark book although I am not so fond of using it for the videos - too wordy! The instructions are buried in too much text for filming with. I feel it would make the ideal Christmas present for quick read through some walk essays. I will look out for the others though! Sarah :)
Wow Foley looks so beautiful. Watching your video make me want to go there. Will definitely put this on my bucket list.
Loved seeing Fowey again. Can not believe more than a week has elapsed since we were there. The walk was really interesting and loved the historical information, and we thought Andrew was going to do an Indiana Jones when inspecting the gravestones - he was in fine form and had us in stitches! Brilliantly well edited as always. Thank you for taking us back to Fowey - really enjoyed it.
We enjoyed our stroll, haven't been there for years and it was a treat to have such a beautiful evening - really helps with filming as everything looks pretty! Sarah
I go to Cornwall every year always go there and eat at the ship inn the food is delicious
That sounds like a plan! When we return, we will have to try it out for ourselves, Sarah :)
Fowey was very interesting and such a picturesque location. I think you were very brave to film in the height of the Summer season but you managed to find some real quirky architecture and quiet spots well done. Enjoyed it guys.
You guys are awesome. I totally love your walks. Thanks so much for sharing your amazing videos!
You're welcome! Sarah :)
Those Tourist Guides can bring life into areas br revealing it's history - what a lovely little adventure you both had! Thanks for sharing & we always enjoy the fun you show one another. ;-)
Hi Barbara, nice to know that you are still enjoying our videos! Sarah :)
I love the sound of church bells, so traditional and so British. The Ship Inn looked great and I would have struggled to walk passed it lol! Fantastic church mind, a real find that, looked great and the stained glass windows were superb. Winter is Chocolately lol, I wish it was and funny enough Mrs Metalman is a big Bryan Ferry fan. Nice walk out and a great watch, cheers Alan
Hi Alan, Glad you watched and enjoyed - we had a lovely, summer evening. Unfortunately, our evening are now drawing in as autumn arrives, had some beautiful sunsets the last couple of days though! Sarah :)

You're welcome - no problem! Sarah :)
An old friend & I now live on opposite sides of our country, but converse via telephone semi-regularly. During one of our last chats, we were talking about how cool & unique Bryan Ferry & his music was/is. And here he goes popping up in Fowey! w/you two!
I had to stop and think what we did in this video! Now I remember! Sarah :)
@@CornishWalkingTrails Thx so much for replying! I just recently discovered your channel & have only taken a few virtual Cornish strolls w/u so far. U def go the extra mile! I've been a huge fan of your wondrous land for about a decade now & hope someday to experience it 1st-hand. Whether or not that ever happens, I can still enjoy many of the sights & sounds of Cornwall tagging along via YT's CWT. Sharon, a new subscriber in CA, US.
Thanks for sharing guys! Fond memories of Fowey and Polruan, the Fowey regatta is a wonderful experience 👌🏻👍🏻😁xx
A beautiful place - and so old!! Sarh :)
Another must see! What a beautiful harbour and so much history and beautiful buildings! I find myself waiting to hear what joke Andrew has too. Thanks for going to such interesting places and showing them to us. I've come to expect to hear the ding on my phone on Thursday just before midnight so I can see where you've gone this week.
That's wonderful! We publish at 8:00am on Friday morning, I am guessing you across the Atlantic! I'm so glad you enjoy our videos, lovely comment! Sarah :D

I'm from Mexico and I got to visit for a while. My fiance and I completely fell in love with the place! I was so sad when I had to leave. Our dream is to move there, I really hope we can, it's such an amazing place. Beautiful place and people 💕 Even if we don't get to move there I will always remember it.
Lived in fowey for 21 years absolutely loved the place, I'm now writing this from my new home in new Zealand, really would love to go back there. I miss the place, born there left at 21.
Beautiful
Ah.....Game of Cones. Finally Ice Cream and Milkshakes to boot. One Funky Banana coming up. Fowey looks like a beautiful place to spend the day.
You obviously like ice cream! We must return when the shop is open!! We will film it just for you, Sarah :)
You two are brilliant!
Thank you!! Sarah :)
Thanks for sharing guys, hope you had a good weekend.. We are recovering from Hurricane Florence in our state... Little damage for me but we still have areas flooded...
So glad to hear that you are ok - Florence made the news in the UK, we were concerned for you guys, Sarah :)
So enjoyable .-) I didn't know anything about Fowey except from the pronunciation :-) What a lovely town. Thank you :) Torunn.
Maybe one year, when you are doing the South Coast, you will find out about its delights for yourself! We really enjoyed it! Sarah :)
Cornish Walking Trails, I sure will :-) In 2021 when we will walk from Falmouth to Plymouth :-)
Hi Sarah and Andrew, hope you had a great weekend! The Celtic knot work engraved on the stone cross was absolutely gorgeous ,what a quaint little town . I am glad to hear that Andrew thought Fowey was full of great “knockers” lol ,he never fails to amuse😂 The kids and I attended the Renaissance Faire over the weekend ,it’s become a little tradition for us, and while waiting on one of my girls to get her henna hand art done , a man sitting next to me was waiting on his daughter as well ,and it turned out he was originally from England and his grandparents are from Cornwall and own a stud farm there ,I forget exactly where but how ironic ,so that was really neat . Oh,and tell Andrew ,they were selling pumpkin pasties at the bakery stand where I got an English meat pie,I was so full ,I couldn’t even go back and get that pumpkin pasty, next time 😁Lots of happiness,Lori
Pumpkin pasty! That sounds amazing, I think I must try and make one. The Renaissance Faire sounds like a place I would love to visit - did you mention our channel to the chap, maybe not the right moment!! Sarah :)
You and Andrew would have a great time at the Renaissance Faire!! It is in Pittsburgh,Pennsylvania which is about an hour and 30 minutes from our home .I should have mentioned your channel and as always I was just talking up a storm and it blew completely past me ,lol .He said he attends every year as well ,it is quite addicting, such a good time, a very lighthearted atmosphere. I imagine you could use the same filling in the pumpkin pasty as you would use for a pumpkin pie, If you would need a recipe for pumpkin pie filling ,I would suggest following the Libby’s pumpkin pie recipe if you don’t already have one. Also, here is my email address so I don’t have to write you novels on CZcams, lol . ljs26 @comcast.net . I am not sure how it works internationally but you can try have a great Tuesday,Lori
Great video guy's 👍and informative! Loved the old church👍Thanks for sharing atvb bounda!
I hope you had a good holiday in Cornwall, Sarah :)
@@CornishWalkingTrails Thanks Sarah👍Yeah we had a great time! Weather wasnt too great geet cloudy everyday! At least there wasnt too much rain!! See yous soon atvb bounda!
Very nice pastys
I see they were filming Poldark at Holywell beach last Friday and Botallack this week. I spent a few hours in Fowey too last week, great place.
We have a treat for you tomorrow avoiding the vagaries of our internet! He!He! Sarah :)
Amazing Place we ll definitely visit soon ..I have family in London must ask them to take us there..best wishes from Melbourne Davied & Myriam
Hi David and Myriam, We are about 200 miles from London, but the time of the journey will vary according to the time of year - out of peak season is best when it will take about 5 hours (it took us 9 hours in peak season!). If I were you, I would be here around May/June, that's when we have our longest days, greatest chance of warm weather and the school holidays have not started, so the roads are a lot easier and you will be able to get where you want to go! Sarah :)
Thanks 💟💟💟
Lovely video, Sarah and Andrew. You have my " groan jokes" Andrew. At least your wife laughs at yours, my wife laughs at me! Harmless fun though, isn't it?
Was the term quite steep an understatement when it comes to walking down the slope into Fowey lol
Walking back up was steeper!! Sarah :(
The wacky walkers strike again 🤣
Awesome first likeee just thought we would come and show some support other wise it’s a waste of time being subscribed to each other interesting video and we have lefted a likeee take care always
