Is it worth visiting Newquay? Town walk and Pentire headland

- Join us as we walk from Newquay Train Station, through the historic harbour to Towan Head, on to Fistral Beach and East Pentire, returning through the town to the station.
We discover a house on an island, surfing and lunch at Fistral.
The old hotel sign with it's "Strictly moderate charges" gave me giggles. It also warmed my heart to see the pups frolicking together again. Someday I'm gonna make it there, and have me some yummy fish & chips, and later an authentic Cornish pasty! I'm also going to have to research the history of the house perched atop that wee island. Fascinating & lovely place!
You pair should do a travel show. Well done.
Newquay ...wow !!..Bring back memories used to come down with friends every year 7/8 boys together 3 mini's and in the old days took 7/8 hours Birmingham to Newquay, ops !! we could have met ...was always on the look out for a pretty girl ...lol. that was he life living of beer and Cornish pasty and maybe on the last day break the budget and have fish and chips

Yet again a superb film, although busy in the summer months, this shows Newquay at its best. You can literally point a camera anywhere in Cornwall and the scenery is spectacular but you both certainly know how to make your films interesting as well as informative.

I love your guy’s videos. I especially love when one of you has the dogs and they’re perfectly synchronized so their little tails and bums are wagging in unison, so cute! I also love the jokes and laughter. You guys definitely are a good example to couples nowadays on how to stay together and how to get along. A very rare thing in this selfish & greedy world. My hats off to you both.
That is a lovely comment - thank you! We call the doggies walking in unison 'Doggy cam', "Have we filmed any doggy cam?' We usually get a shot of them in somewhere in the video! Sarah :)

Remember, your never lost. Only temporarily disorientated. That house on top of the rock with its own bridge looked pretty awesome. Two days for four miles......Hmmmmm. Surfs up bra. Come on Andrew, show us how you hang ten. Again, no ice cream shop, bummer dude. Nice video, I could see way this would be a busy place in the summer. I believe Cornwall is in the top 3 most beautiful places on earth and my dream is to one day at least visit but prefer to buy a house there. I’d be happy just sitting in a rocking chair watching the sea. You guys are helping us get the next best thing and I really appreciate it. Look forward to many more videos.

Wow! Spectacular scenery again guys. Newquay has views of the surf no matter where you look and the contrast was really good over the 2 days, it proves that we do get more than 1 Season in a short space of time. I like you avoid Newquay because of the crowds but taken out of Season it really is beautiful no matter where you look. Lovely filming again and I enjoyed it. Well done
Lovely to see the great views. Didn't visit Newquay this time on our trip to Cornwall but looks like a nice walk so will have to go there next time. We visited lots of places shown on your videos and had such a great time, so thanks for all the wonderful information, really hard to fit everything in as so many nice places to visit and walks to do, don't think you could ever run out of things to do. Sorry ,accidentally sent it and was trying to backspace lol .As I was saying, I can see why it would be such a tourist attraction,seems like it has a lot to offer !!The house on the cliff all by itself was just amazing and the beaches were beautiful!! it was a really nice looking walk and with all you came across i don't doubt it would take two days ;-) That house connected by the bridge must be one of the most amazing locations for a house in the UK. You had a fantastic chemistry in presenting your tour of Newquay, bursting full of information and giving a real good feel for the place. Lovely stuff :-)

Great video. Newquay isn't Cornwall's prettiest town b y any means, but it is set in a spectacular location. I really like walking along the base of the cliffs on a really low tide and exploring the caves there.
Hi Cebus! On the second day we went down on to Towan beach, by the house on the island, and walked from there, all the way across to the harbour to return to our car. I had never done that before - not being a regular visitor to Newquay, surrounded by great views and the rumble of the sea!! Sarah :)

I realized I hadn't seen this before. It was very nice to "walk with you" now through this area and I recognized it from my own walk last year :)

Beautiful walk, thank you for taking us there. When next we visit we will fly into Newquay but not get a chance to look around. Nice to see the doggies again and Andrew's new hat is very nice. The grilled haddock looked delicious. That house on the island is really cool. Always amazes me how popular surfing is in Cornwall, with all those lovely beaches it makes sense.
We saw planes flying into Newquay airport, its about three miles up the coast. I hope your destination is not too far away! Sarah :)
We will be in Gwithian so not far but with traffic we have to head that way right after we land. We want to be settled for it gets dark. :)
That journey on a good run would take about 1hr, maybe a little longer if you use the A30 during the rush hour! Sarah

John noticed a couple of continuity errors! It must be difficult getting your online groceries delivered to the house on the island; I would not fancy crossing that bridge during a storm. Another different, but enjoyable walk, thank you Sarah and Andrew, and undoubtedly more enjoyable at this time of year than summer. Your young lad (not Andrew!) can not resist having a dig in a sandy beach - they are such characters.

Thanks for a great walk! It would be an interesting place to visit but I can see it would be crowded in summer. The views over the water are fantastic and that house with a bridge....wow! Watch much baseball Andrew? Loved the Tigers hat!

sudsymama in summer it is extremely crowded the streets are full and people think it’s way hotter than it actually is but it’s a great place and in summer is amazing to bodyboard and surf I recommend going their since I live their

It is a long walk, but best out of season,
stayed in the headland hotel for my 16th birthday :}
We stayed there for a Xmas Dinner and Dance one year - great isn't it? Sarah :)
How long does it take for you to drive from your home to the farthest place on Cornwall that you have walked?
Hi Jill, It depends on the destination and time of year! A couple of hours maybe. In the summer, we leave early to beat the visitors, they tend to start late, about 10:00 but the journey home can be unpredictable! We know a few short cuts and we also know the favoured routes that sat nav uses! Sarah :)
