    thanks Brian, good job in explaining your arrangement of this song. I am one of those amateur guitarist just trying to fit in with our little ensemble at church and we are playing the traditional 9/8 time this Sunday. practice on Saturday with the pianist. I think your lesson will help me immensely perform it properly. Peace be with you sir.

    Very excellent on your landings. The way you played the chords stole the soulful dissonance in the score that makes the song very soulful.
    Great job explaining the ruthym and meter. Super job!

    Hi, Is there a reason that the strumming pattern for this song is different on this CZcams Lesson Vs. the Text you have on your webpage? Pause @2:48 Your webpage shows at 2-5-8 there are down strums, where on this Tutorial the 2-5-8 down strums are absent.

    I noticed the fingering is different on the “D” chord. It calls for 3 fingers, but you play with 2?

    Hi Brian, this is probably a daft question........but what's the difference between 3 bars of 3/4 time and 1 bar of 9/8?

    • @AdmWright
      @AdmWright Před 7 lety

      Feel......they are interchangeable. Form can be the basis of which to use, or in popular music chord changes.

      It's just the way it's written down. The original hymn was in 9/8, but can be felt in 3/4.
