You can change the front sprocket to a 17 tooth and it increases the top speed. One upside of that is that at 70 the rpms would be lower and save more fuel, which it really drinks at higher speeds

As a fellow owner of the 310 GS I'll agree your review is right on. And your blessed not to have the Semi-Truck volume we do in Florida.

Your You Tube channel popped up and I recognized the area as I live in the Portland/Vancouver area. The other part is I have a Z400 and a Duke 390 and you are talking about your BMW 310 GS, a smallbore motorcycle. I discovered the joy of riding small motorcycles, as they are fun and very versatile at what they can do! You have a good understanding of what your motorcycle is and what it is not and when one understands the strengths and weaknesses of smallbore motorcycle, then they become fun. I have a smile every time I ride either bike! Have many years of enjoyment on your bike, it is a hoot to ride small motorcycles!

I put a 17tooth front on my 22 g310gs, world of different for highway driving. Each gear seams to have more legs but yeah, passing power is slow

I wanna get the naked version of this bike, I work at BMW so it’s perfect.

Add air. The manual psi ratings are for off road. I do 34/38 psi for freeway/road use. Rode from Sacramento to San Francisco twice now. Only issue is heavy wind blasts due to bike weight. I have rear suspension tightened to max and lowered from 1.5”

subbed! buying one next week, can't wait. Had a ktm duke 390, and this bmw has more speed on the gears which I like, as well as many good features. In Norway max on freeway is usually 100 km/h, and where I live its 80 km/h, so powerwise I am sure imma be happy tbf. This will be fun to watch more vids from you

I’ve had mine since last summer and I haven’t been on the interstate with it. Interstates around here are crazy and I’m retired so not commuting anyway. Highways at 55 - 60 mph is great. Nice to see it doing it. Good to know if I ever have to do it I can. Nice video.

Just hit 212 miles fun bike to ride to Auburn CA.

Hello! I’m about to purchase this bike as a 70 off-30 on road adventure starter. Is this a good bike to do that on? I have other bikes in the stable, and trails are about an hour away minimum from my area so I’d have to ride there. Is there also any mods I should look into?

  • @UltralightMotorcycleCamping

I have a 2019 G310GS and I love it. I never use the ABS switch but I'm glad I have it for the very rare steep downhill off road or other times I might want to skid the rear tire. I've done all of the scheduled maintenance and it's been easy and cheap to keep. I've ridden it on the highway at 70-75 for a couple of hours at a time on occasions and it works, but I bought the baby GS for my 60th birthday for back roads, gravel or dirt roads, mild off road and moto camping and it's great for that.

205 in Clackamas! You’re local to me.

are you planning to change your sprockets? Its a pain on the freeway imo, I find it very hard to keep it at 7RPMs because sometimes you're just going with the flow of traffic. But I'm just worried about wear on the engine at this point.

  • @MegaManLeoGFX

I'm looking to get into riding, after researching for weeks I'm liking the G310GS Design more and more & will likely get started on it.
