I rode the trident the other day, rear suspension was a little choppy on certain roads surfaces, and the throttle response was so smooth and easy to use I couldn’t see an issue. Overall I found it to be pretty spot on in this price bracket. It’s a proper motorbike for riders all ages and temperament, if you get me, I appreciate it has the A2 license facility however it is so much more than a novice bike.... I really liked it... good update review Bob. Cheers.

Fabulous video MB - not like the normal reviewers (one in particular YT'er who wobbles the handlebars and states the bike is 'flickable') you've covered all the angles in your usual style. Straightforward, thorough, engaging and informative. I've had a T120 since 2017 which I've modded to exactly where I want it and commute on it daily all year. Looking for a second bike for the winter commute and was tempted by the Tiger but now I've seen this ..... ?? Sincere thanks for making this and looking forward to future Trident vids.

Good video! I picked up my bike last week and I agree with you on the suspension and throttle. I can confirm that the ride is firm and so is the seat but the handling is really good. The ride may become more compliant with time. As for the throttle, its perfect for me. Its not as jerky as some ride by wire throttles I've dealt with. The throttle allows for easy application in slow speed environments and has a nice roll on. I have fitted the triumph round bar ends for this bike and they work really well. They match the design of the round dash and headlight. I noticed that on the back of the mirrors, the housing has a ribbed surface. This ribbing at is also present on another rounded surface, the shock towers. This bike is very nicely designed and assembled. I'm still 'running in' my bike and I find it light, nimble, fast enough and easy to ride. This is without doubt the best motorcycling purchase I've ever made.

I was loaned a Trident as a curtesy Bike when my Street Triple went in for a major service. I agree with you about the handling, It felt so nimble on twisty roads, light and sure footed. Suspension! just having preload is a real 'bummer' nowadays..I own the R version of the Striple which of course has pre-load plus damping adjustment. manufactures can, I'm sure make provision without increasing the price to much.We humans are so diverse in weight, suspension adjustment should be the norm. Overall I thought this bike was pretty good, would be a good choice for a new rider to step up to....But the 'turd in the water pipe' for me was that awful swinging reg plate contraption over the rear wheel...Apart from that, nice bike

I am guessing this bike is all about the corner ! Have a blast with it .. Less hp and using more of tha engine pulling the bike out of the corners just sounds like a blast to me .. I think this bike will be popular with a lot of seasoned riders who don't need 120 hp to have some fun .. Triumph knows how to define the word Roadster ... Over and over again, they bringing smiles to the open country road ..

    • @motobob

    • @doylegaines1319
      @doylegaines1319 Před rokem

True, we don't need 120 hp to have fun. I also don't need horrid copycat styling, 4 feet of clearance between the top of the rear tire and the bottom of the rear fender, a passenger perch with 8 feet of ground clearance, and as Mr. Perry mentioned "that awful swinging reg plate contraption:". A great engine and rolling chassis mated to putrid styling. I already have one of those - a second gen SV650.

The cat/exhaust look like they're already rusting. I prefer the Trident looks and triple engine but the MT07 seems more practical.

Mt10 has some paint chipping issues from what Ive read which means same may apply to MT09 and MT07.

Triumph triple engines run way smoother than the 07 or even the 09, I'll choose a triumph over a Yamaha anyday without even blinking an eye.

@@edmondgrieve4393 I have to give you two thumbs up. I loved my Speed Triple. I also really liked my SV 650. Give me the low end torque and power for a suburban ride and I'm happy : )

Rob, what’s your thoughts on the rear mudguard/hugger? Looks like bad weather will cause lots of spray on the rear light/tail area? Lovely looking and congrats on the new bike. Hope it does well for you..p.s. George at Tecbike parts is fitting some adjustable levers on their Trident

I reckon the coverage will be as good if not better than a regular tail section like the street triple? The hugger is super close to the wheel and fairly lengthy. I’ll need to do a test when it’s wet...

It looks like the front exhaust downpipe has been blasted with road grit due to the short front guard, that doesn't look good for the life of the radiator!

Seems like lead times for delivery of this and other motorbikes is really crazy at the moment sadly. A friend cancelled his order for a new bike as basically he needed a bike to get to work and opted for second hand from same dealer. Tridents are very popular but seem worth waiting for if you have another bike to run in meantime

Not sure how much this will be requested but I'd love to see a comparison to the gsx s750.
I'm trying to find my best option for a naked sport below 750cc (so I don't get bumped up to the next insurance class)

There seems to be loads of warning transfers on the top of the tank. I think they look really unsightly. (Check them out at 5.22 in the video). Is it possible to remove them easily?

I'll take my Trident tomorrow. I took only the passenger handlebar ( I use the bike daily to bring my sons to school) and TPMS system because I think it is a good safety feature in discovering flat tyres. I really can't find a point in quick shifter and Bluetooth module. I never used a quick shifter equipped bike so I could be wrong but it seems to me quite useless in this type of bike where you don't search for a last second brake before a curve or shift gear in milliseconds.
Talking about the Bluetooth module I think it could be quite distracting and offer nothing more of what you can do with an intercom.
    What you think about it?
