I did the Amalfi coastline from Salerno to Sorrento stopping at Amalfi for 3 hours and Positano for 3 hours before heading to Sorrento and stayed 3 nights. Prior to that, I stayed in Napoli for 3 nights and did the day tour to Pompeii. From Napoli, the driver took me to Salerno in the morning and checked into a hotel in Salerno around 10.00am and had a whole day to explore this town and spent 1 night. Next day was the Amalfi Coast trip from Salerno starting around 6.30am and then ending in Sorrento around 5pm stopping at Amalfi and Positano along the way. Sadly I didn't see Scala or Ravello due to time constraints

How many days should you stay in Capri and
amalfi coast if I have a total of 4 days in Italy before going to France
If you have 4 days but those days are including the travel days to Italy and going to France, then I think it might be best to base yourself in Sorrento and take a day trip to Capri. If Capri is your focus on this trip and you want to stay over, I would say take a ferry over to Capri from Naples early in the morning, stay one night and leave late in the evening the next day so you have almost 2 full days to explore the island. You can then take the ferry to Sorrento or Positano and base yourself here for the last 2 nights, and spend the rest of your time exploring the rest of Amalfi Coast from there.
This is very helpful as I am also planning a 4 day trip to the Amalfi Coast my base will be Sorrento and take day’s trips to other places including Capri. Thank you
