    Nice drone work. Found some good places to camp and food too. Enjoyed your video.

    The water is about the worst I've encountered anywhere, no jumping in the rivers, so go when it's cool out. I rode the trail about 5yrs ago and it was over 100F out there all days but one, and that one day being 99F out, so not being able to jump in any water really sucked. There isn't much along the trail, no breweries to explore besides one good one at the far east end of the trail. It was alright to ride once and scratch it off the long list of trails to ride, but I really don't think I'd ride it again.
    I've been all over the place, most of the significant trails in the eastern half of the US and Australia. My favorites up to this point are the Allegheny Passage/C&O trail, the Sparta trail in Wisconsin (those tunnels are badass), and riding northern Michigan on both the trails and highways. The Mawson trail in Australia is pretty epic too if you ever get the chance to ride over there.

      That’s awesome! It’s something everyone should do if you’re able. I highly recommend using the Bike Stop Cafe, the Turner Katy Trail hostel in Tebbetts, the KT Caboose in Marthasville, and ringing the bell in Machens. Have fun!

    Great video. Since the KATY Trail is in my home state it is at the top of my bucket list. What time of year did you ride the trail?

    • @thesweatycyclist3178
      @thesweatycyclist3178  Před 2 lety +1

      It was the first week of September. The folks at the Bike Stop Cafe said September and October is when they have highest demand for bikepacking transport. Lower temps and not as many bugs. Waiting for the leaves to change would be an amazing time to go.

    Nice video! Can you list some of your equipment such as camping, cameras, panniers etc.

    • @thesweatycyclist3178
      @thesweatycyclist3178  Před rokem +1

      Sure! Cameras - GoPro with a mini tripod, skydio drone (took up so much space). Packs -I used all ortlieb panniers. Sleep system - Hyke and Byke tent, I brought Hummingbird hammock that didn't get much use, Nemo tensor air mattress. Sawyer water filter incase. Cheap stove and small fuel, because everyone needs coffee. Sorry for the late reply, can't think of anything else significant.

      Missouri State Fairgrounds in Sedalia. Just know you cannot hang a hammock as I was quickly asked to take mine down.

      A little bit of both. We roughly knew where we were going to stop each night.

    Showing where they keep the key to the hostel was dumb. Now that it's been edvertised, you know someone(s) is going to ruin it for everyone, either by stealing it or using it to trash the place - or both.

      Rail to trail is pretty straight forward. See what I did there? I guess life is what you make it. Can't say we were ever bored.
