lines arent that simple. your previous turn affects your next one. wheelie speed, rotational alignment, how long youve held your mt. all of this cant be fixed by just oh just put them back where they were. thats why you cant edit a 3 lap tas first turn youi have to edit the whole tas from the start@@Tristan02539

Yup! That's been a long-running staple of modded MK Wii. Many players felt that the thundercloud was a broken item and made the game a lot less fun, so modders created the mega thundercloud, which gives a mega instead of shrinking you down, so it becomes a game of keep-away instead of a game of tag. It tends to keep races far more interesting
ZPL is the absolute GOAT, it's insane how far Retro Rewind has come in such a short timespan
I think you should race the cpus as a series. I enjoy the episodic stuff more than the 2+ hour ones personally

It's not the true SMK experience until the Mario and Luigi CPU's keep pulling stars in first every few seconds without even needing an item box.

20:51 This track has got to be one of my absolute favorite custom tracks of all time. It's so beautiful and the music that goes with it is also amazing. Just so, so much cooler than the original course it's based off of. ZPL did an awesome job with it.

This is really enjoyable, I would love to watch a whole series of this! I think a series for this with one video per game would definitely be better than a single video. One video would probably take a couple of hours unless you cut a lot out of the races

Back in 2014 when I started MKW this is what the CPU felt like.
I think I should look into this, I really admire the hard work and custom tracks and updates everyone is making to the game. The servers ended years back but the community is keeping this game beyond alive.

I downloaded retro rewind yesterday and im really enjoying i, when i joined online i was with ZPL and it was a lot of fun choosing random combo's
Ggs! By the way, I’m working on a mod myself which combines the speed buffs to CPUs with slightly better item pulls for them. Not the nonstop stars/triple reds/blue shells like in the last true impossible video, but enough to where an above average player would struggle to win every time as long as the track has good cpu routes lol. Currently focused for MKWii Deluxe, but I hope to expand it to this pack too. Would be awesome to see you play it sometime 🙏🏻

I wonder if you could mod the tracks to have double the item boxes? Like the amount of item box groups gets doubled.

I notice that 200cc is more fun with this mod. Half of the time they are flying off the track. Really helps train brake drifting

the music does speed up on the final lap but it does so gradually (whereas on regular mariokart its quite sudden). so that's why it's not noticeable.

And I'm sure the car ports/parking garages in Mushroom City have fooled SOMEONE. Especially considering that in the two previous cups it's established that driving into warp pipes teleports you (both in Peach Beach and Mushroom Bridge) but in Mushroom City, driving into the visually similar parking garages count you out of bounds.
I think you could switch up vehicles for some races. There are many viable vehicles in retro rewind and i would also love to see some outside drift action
With so many new tracks and modes I think doing a new top 25 or top 50 custom tracks would be amazing. You could do it with Nick or someone else from the old videos it would be nostalgic and we’d all love it

I'd prefer having the videos split into multiple, then you can re-release the movie version later for double the ad time ;)
Personally I think you should do the future cups one game at a time, both for pacing and also because I don't think it would be enjoyable to play (or watch you play) for such a long period of time. If you do them individually with breaks in between and then add them all up into one video, that'd be fine though.

39:10 it seems like the music does speed up, they just decided to do a smooth transition, i dont really like it bc it makes the music out of tune for a little bit and its hard to notice, the sudden key change has an urgency was just good as it was 😭

I don't know Troy about using different vehicles, I personally also enjoy some meta gameplay along with different vehicles, you could also do like a thing where people vote for the next Character and vehicle combo and whoever gets the most thumbs up gets picked for the next video or something. Who knows.

If anyone is wondering, I'm afraid it hasn't. I still have version 1.0 (playing on wii), I've repeated the whole installing procedure (including the download on my pc) twice but nothing has changed and if I try to update the mod using the updater in the channel it does nothing. Every time I go to wimmfi, the game crashes.
