Plotted on Complex Plane :
Function :
z(n+1) = z(n) + ((2000-n)^1.5/(3000-n))*e^( 2*pi*t*(cos(t*100)*sin(n*0.05+t*30)*10+t*10) - 1.8*n*t + pi/2 )*i
For this animation, I used the following initial parameters :
z(1) = 0 , iteration n = 1 to 2000 ,
The animation starts at t = 0 and ends at t = 1.
You can choose the number of iterations based on your GPU power. More iterations means more computation time.
Z(1) sets the root of the curve. Z(1) = 0 means (0+0i), The Curve originates from the origin

This should be shared in schools to help students grasp the concepts and get excited about the possibility math can provide. I always checked out as soon as graphing points was required.
Except it doesn't help them grasp the concept. Well at least not for my brain, because although this adds to the hype factor the actual math will always be explained the old fashioned way nonetheless.
So much this. U know what would've been a great lesson is to breakdown exactly what logarithm (?) Is used to generate each output as it mutates and let the kids play with the inputs to and equation to see how changing it effects the tangible output. Because that's what the upper level math classes fucking lacked was tangibility. Seeing how incredible this is makes me just pissed that I don't understand on a more deeper level how that magic works. I feel motivated as hell to learn math right now. I'm not gonna fucking do it because I'm 38 and busy adulting but if I was in a room every day where I'm gonna be hearing about math anyway? Shit, get this is schools now
There is a certain magic to math that not enough people appreciate. The formulas and functions can be melded together to create things that are truly beautiful and open up concepts we had no real understanding of before, patterns we haven't seen, ideas we haven't thought of. When I was an educator, I wanted to impress this idea on my students, because math is something truly beautiful. Too many people seem to hate it and refuse to have anything to do with it. Thank you for putting this together.
this is the kind of magic I need.
yes my math teacher does this
This is why I love math everything leads to something even if that thing is hard to find you eventually find it. The numbers always add up!
I believe that my aversion to mathematics stems from the way it was taught to me. I could only ever see it as an obstacle in my education that I had to get through over and over again, so I grew tired of it.
I wasn't taught its beauty nor its uses until I left high school, and that was outside of college.
@@blutarchmann9070 translation to english: math bad when actually good
Isn't it so satisfying when everything aligns together then breaks apart again
The most beautiful way to show the universe is both perfect and imperfect and the true beauty of mathematics. Truly gorgeous.
This is so beautiful! I’ve never figured out the math thing, but I do enjoy making fractals. I do it on my iPad, so it’s nothing like yours. Yours are simply beautiful! Really love them! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much! :) Also thank you for commenting !
@@fascinating.fractalswhat did you use to create such amazing stuff (like what app)

The way the pattern moves at times seems like it has a tremendous amount of energy behind it, especially during the points when it seems to whip way way out. There's also something to it like an unstable but slowly decaying orbit. The extreme end of the line never seems to cross over the origin point. The knotted sections almost seem like moons or wells at times, and there's more energy as it gets closer and closer to the origin point.
I agree
It touches my soul in undescribly way. It makes me wonder about the energy of life and how everthing is connected...
❤
Its insane how huge it would expand as it just kept curling and curling! This is insane. Thank you so much for sharing
This is so beautiful I love math I didint think math could turn into animated art this is cool
I imagine... these are what the first few thousand frames of the birth of our universe looked like, before expanding into 3 dimensions.
frames 💀
And what, 3:24 was when it turned 3d lol

This is incredible. And beautiful to watch 😍
This is art, aural and visual.
This is sooooo beautiful and the music matches the beauty of fractals. I am starting to learn coding and hope to have the ability to draw fractals someday ;)
The best screensaver award goes to...
Absolutely love this!
This inspired so much thought and emotion. I loved it. Thank you.
Thank you for the comment! Appreciate it! I'll be posting more variation over this month !
The flinging of the end point of the curved line that draws the path almost feels like its a model for gravity because it shoots way out repeated then gets pulled back in and then dances in and around the origin point of the curved line and then gets flung around.
Please make a part 2 with the different iteration
Beautiful.
THIS IS ART.
now this becomes my new addiction 😂
So beautiful...
Why do we love this so much?
This is so hypnotising
I love it
It’s beautiful
Fascinating 😮

Mesmerising
Thank you !✨
This is a form of art that only Aliens with an understanding of 10000s years from ours could comprehend and appreciate to full capacity. You are not a mathematician you are a peacemaker and a master artist. You have made my life meaningful and happy, thank you.
Yes I am so curious to see the part two. I just discover your channel its open minding.
This makes me believe that the architect of our universe employs these number to carry out the creations of 1 atom to the next. The functions change depending on the creation
It's amazing
I may be insane. I watched all 30 minutes of this, almost completely uninterrupted.
i honestly feel like this coulda been the start of the universe lol
I wish i understood why this was happening, but nonetheless i am mesmerized

This is truly one of the most beautiful 'man-made' things I've ever seen. This one is stunning, Thank you!
I would love to be able to play with the variables myself. Do you have a how to course? I would love to see what amazing structures can emerge from varying the parameters.
Really neat! Been obsessed with fractals for some time. Maybe some commentary on what is going on would be nice. Like are you rescaling the axes as time goes on?
Hey Michael ! Thank you for the comment ! Yes. Actually as the curve keeps twisting into the coil, it shrinks and it gets smaller and smaller over time. I'm rescaling the axes every frame as it shrinks and blossoms .
Hey man, can you please elaborate how you make these.. I could use this in my state of the art seminars. I'm currently doing my phd in Evolutionary Dynamics, as you might guess that fractal attractors are something that I see get in almost every system.
Hi, I put the function in description . I have been working on some tutorials. I will make one on this. But might take sometime !

The song is "Thoughts" by Adrian Berenguer , it's already mentioned on the video title .
questions = 1. Computation??? what kind of hardware do you use for this?
2. openFrameworks? or something else?
I feel like I just watched a full future length movie
There’s something about this that’s making me appalled, but at the same time fascinated and questioning math and reality.

Great ! Would you explain it more into details of the programming language which you have used or publish the function anyhow ? Thanks

So, the only thing I am hung up on is the "i" at the end. I assume this is a imaginary number factor. Pls help.
Yes. "i" is an imaginary number. Whole thing was plotted on complex plane.
I believe this toroidal shape is the shape of the universe as a whole. I remember realizing this also while I was studying the shape of magnetic fields around a magnet then stumbled upon a mountain of other things in the universe, micro and macro that follow this simple structure of a donut. This also is reminding me of the Fibonacci sequence and it’s relation to the phi sequence. Perfect imperfections

A ballet of work can be staged if only we know the characteristics of its two powerful mutual antagonists: The Prince of Darkness, who dwells in darkness and whose vision is fixated on the light representing the awakened forces of light, and the Prince of Light, representing the sleeping forces of darkness.

The overall geometry is half complete in this video. It would need twice as long (60 min) to finish a complete cycle.

I made this programmatically by writing a code.
I think it would be cool aswell if you reversed this, and see it all shrink again
