Slow / sticking seatbelt? How to fix (or at least make it better!) Gen3 Jimny done here.

  • Got it in the end! Was going to replace seatbelt as it had become a real pain. However, decided to do this first - saved some time and money. EDIT - 2nd spray of silicone on belt made it much better.

    You must clean the redirection triangle the seatbelt slides over more thoroughly.
    I found out an my 2001 jimny that gunk will accumulate on the surface the belt slips over.
    The thing is the surface you need to clean is very very unaccessible.
    The only way i was able to clean a bit of it was to move the belt as far to the right and to the left as i possibly could.
    Maybee a super thin leather rag fiddled underneath the belt would work.
    I nearly desperate enough to try it with very fine grid sandpaper cut to the exact width.
    This issue is a huge pain in the ass since I own my jimny and cleaning often lasts only a few weeks until it will get stuck again.

      @@oxdudepoege thanks for that, will give it a go. Works much better, but not perfect so worth a try. It isn't my daily, so hopefully lasts longer between cleans!
