@@_Noble. Hi, they are just 215/75/15 (2" lift). And thanks!
Great and helpful video
Amazing little car if you are on a tight budget1
Not so cheap here now unfortunately - but great little car off tarmac.
This car is not cheap, 10 year old used cars cost around 15,000 euros in Germany
Interesting. I have a 2008 Jimny. It has had an oil leak for years and the mechanic replaced seal after seal. Then he said that I had to replace the cardan. I did not know what it was but found out what it would cost! Keep in mind, I live in the south of Chile, so ordering spares from Europe is rather expensive. I eventually found a great mechanic. It turned out that there was a crack in the weld that joined the spline to the "horn" of the cardan. The solution was to braze the joint. If anyone want more information, let me know. I have photographs.
i bought a 2018 jimny. the last of the old ones. its my baby. we get some awlfull weather here and its unbeatable.
Great little things off the tarmac - enjoy it!
Very nice footage and editing. Keep going! 😊
@@zen6zen thank you, it is one of my better ones. I am usually on my own so getting video is harder for me. Cheers
You must clean the redirection triangle the seatbelt slides over more thoroughly. I found out an my 2001 jimny that gunk will accumulate on the surface the belt slips over. The thing is the surface you need to clean is very very unaccessible. The only way i was able to clean a bit of it was to move the belt as far to the right and to the left as i possibly could. Maybee a super thin leather rag fiddled underneath the belt would work. I nearly desperate enough to try it with very fine grid sandpaper cut to the exact width. This issue is a huge pain in the ass since I own my jimny and cleaning often lasts only a few weeks until it will get stuck again.
@@oxdudepoege thanks for that, will give it a go. Works much better, but not perfect so worth a try. It isn't my daily, so hopefully lasts longer between cleans!
Suzuki Samurai and Jimny 🤓👏👏👍👍
Hi, my Twingo wasn't going in to gear. I was ready to out it to we buy any car but thought I would give this a go and it worked!! I greased the linkage as well while I was under there. I used a long pipe and a funnel to get the oil in as it was all I had, which worked pretty well. Thanks for saving my car.
@@misteryreviewer1426 always good to hear one of my little videos helped someone! Thanks.
@@CLSJimny4x4 If you still have the Twingo it might be worth checking the clutch push rod as they can pop off leaving you with no clutch. I replaced mine with an X8R one, cost about 20 quid and it can't come off as the joints have pins in them. Worth doing for peace of mind, although it is a fiddly job to do.
@@misteryreviewer1426 Hi, yes he has just insured it for another year. The little rod was the 1st issue we had - day after we bought it! Got the updated bit fitted, although was a bit of a pig.
just turned 17 and got a grey 2009 Jimny what are the best upgrades I can do for a low cost?
Hi. Here is a link to what I did to mine a few years ago (doing a new walk around next few weeks to show what worked and what got binned). czcams.com/video/8ud23qIo5WU/video.html Being a new driver, you will need to keep things simple so you don't get stung on the insurance. Everything I do is budget friendly, so have a look and get some ideas. A few videos on my channel showing how some bits were done. The rear table I think is the most used though. Cheers
@@CLSJimny4x4 picking my jimny up on Thursday its done 150,000 miles what are some things I should look out for that could fault or be affected by this amount of milage
@@user-kr7zm4xr6s it isn't the miles you need to worry about if been looked after, it is rust. They rust really bad between the front and rear number plates! Make sure you check it all underneath, especially behind headlights and body mounts. Log onto bigjimny.com as there is a buyers guide. Cheers
Greate job. What exactly oil did you use and what are the symptoms of a bad fan?
Hi, a picture of the oil is shown in the video, used in remote control cars I think. The car started to overheat under load, and felt as if there was no resistance when hot. Cheers
i bought one of the last of the old jimnys. a 2018 one in 2020. its my baby. very good in snow and ice.

Hi, can certainly recommend. Had a lot of weight on it, been on a few years. Pete Hazzard - is on the Jimny forums. Cheers
** UPDATE ** Had a couple of days in Wales with trailer (4hr trip there and 4hrs back), and pulling trailer on some lanes. Managed to go on the few hot days between the rain and no overheating, so seems to have worked.

Hi. Just heading back to Wales this morning with the trailer, last trail before deciding to fit the tent to it. May go to a lighter unbraked one. Cheers
What mods have you added to this motor . Good video mate
Hi, it has had a few tweaks over the years, will be putting an updated walk around on here in the next few weeks. Cheers
Why do Suzuki vehicles rust / rot so easily?
Hi. This is a Jap thing. They don't salt the roads there, so the underbody protection is limited.
I have the same one for 4 yrs now. Has survived being banged around a bit and still going strong. Quiet and very little battery drain. Love it. Well done Halfords. 👌
Nice really handy video. Did you notice any handling improvement from this?
Hi, didn't notice any difference in handling. Was charged due to it making noise, it hadn't completely failed. Cheers
Enjoying the peace? Lol. Try silence.

@@regilabraham3508 Hi, the places visited are noted in the title (Google is your friend here). The lanes themselves can be found in Trailwise2, unfortunately I can't remember the refs at this point. Thanks.
Hi can this be charged from standard home electricity and how long would charge take?
Hi, do you mean from a normal 3 pin plug? The charger it comes with is 1.3KW, so takes a very long time! It works out about 3miles per hour of charge. A normal home charger is around 7KW, and will take from 20% to 100% in around 8hrs. My current Volvo comes with a 2.4KW 3 pin plug charger. Cheers
First the mildly funny bit: at a first glance I thought you meant Green Lanes in Harringay, North London, as a starting point for a drive to East Yorks. Now the much more serious point: It's absolutely outrageous and DISGUSTING for you and your kind to be chewing up and completely messing up such green roads/ trackways for other users - walkers and pedal cyclists - with your yuppy jeeps and suchlike just for a bit of utterly self-indulgent fun at others' expense. IMHO you want your backside kicking. Fyi I speak as an exiled native of East Yorks who knows and loves that north Wolds territory well - keep off it with your motorised monstrosities, take a walk and get some exercise and a real feel for the country instead and stop ruining it for others.
Well driven and well spotted. I didn't enjoy this lane. Just worried about tipping and the steps too.
Thank you. Just a shame I didn't have the tripod for the camera to capture the hardest bits, people could make a more informed choice on doing the lane. Cheers
Great videos im learning alot from you mate. Thanks keep these videos coming
Thanks, to be honest, I'm learning as I go!
Wish we had green lanes north of the border 😢
It is a shame, Scotland always looks a great place to take the little 4x4. Love the Niva!
Thanks for posting this! What size tyres are you running here out of curiousity?
Hi, running 215/75/15 on a 2" lift, cheers
Fella, respect to you, seeking out the Sherman on the olde Staffs Regt/RAF live target firing range.... Did you note the Merryton Low crashed Stirling site, just along from the tank, where crashed a Canadian crewed Stirling, from Waddington, in 1942, just clipping the very edge of the hill? It's "totalled' crew, bar one, are laid in a row in Buxton cemetery.. 303's and 'bits' lying around. If you find the site, you'll know.. Also WW2 time a/c came down upon The Roaches. (re the Merryton Low Stirling, please see Ron Colliers Dark Peak Aircraft Wrecks Volume 2, hey and Vol 1 for that matter).
I had my bullet proof rain coat on! Didn't know about the plane, will have to go back another day - cheers!
Can you get any live information from the Jimny with these?
Hi, you can get live data with both of them.
100% restorable. Bogies look good, too. Engines and internals shouldn't be too hard to source being mostly M3 stuff. (Canadian Ram based on the M3 rather than M4 Sherman). However, the problem may not lie in the cost of restoration, but the cost of recovery and the bureaucracy surrounding the recovery. Sometimes it's the terrain stopping recovery- walls that have been built since that would need to be demolished etc, and even protected species like Newts living in the nearby area have all led to rare vehicles or crash sites staying put.
Hi. Access is fine, removing would not be the main issue. It is on MOD land, so I think paperwork would be a pain.
That Kangaroo should be saved its a rare version, nothing that cant be repaired.
Not sure - looks a bit past it to me, but more of it left than the last one I looked at.
If the upper hull and lower is in one piece it is that bit that is important can weld all the holes rest of the tank just bolts to the hull. I have seen one front of a Sherman cut in Half and the rear off another welded together.@@CLSJimny4x4
the bullet holes could be 50cals or 20mm cannon shells. both make similar holes.
Do you need a lift for these tyres or can you run them without
Hi, I put the lift on 1st so would not guarantee. However, I think you could with some minor trimming of the bumper.
looks like 50cal rounds to make holes in a sherman tank
No idea, but big enough hole to stick a finger through!
This is the gear ?! Or The 4X4 ?
This is the transfer box (the 4x4 bit).
Thank you.
Hi - updated - czcams.com/video/QjNY2pdx1Bs/video.html
2:55 is a good climb up. Shame Jacob's Ladder just further along New Road is now closed. I never got to do that. Have you driven the one in Ulley? That was my first when I lived in Sheffield.
Just had to look up Jacobs Ladder (and it is still being used by those that don't follow the rules!) Not done Ulley - but can't see any comments on Trailwise2 for it either. Worth trying?
You did realize the ones you removed had an allen key head on top of the threads, all you needed to do was put an allen key in the top and a spanner on the nut and it would of been so much easier. Oh well, rest of it was what i wanted to see ... so cheers
I do now! Cheers.
Jimny gear oil is one liter?
Hi, yes transfer box takes around 1L. Cheers
What did you use to fill the oil back up?
Hi, you can see it in the vid, a Sealy oil pump. However, I am not a fan of the Sealy pump, I need to replace it as it leaks badly. They are cheap to buy. Cheers
@@CLSJimny4x4 great thanks. Any recommendations on a better one?
@@sean4412 not yet unfortunately.
Wow you have gone through a lot! That must have been quite stressful. I am glad you are back home. Take time to get well! Happy Christmas! Praying for a swift recovery
Thanks - on the mend. Had a look in the fridge and managed to find some of the weight I lost!
I figured boaters frequently live off small systems, mine is around 1.4Kw, it is best to put panels in all locations, even my North wall gets sun on summer evenings, I have west facing panels and some south facing on my garden room. Off grid now I have to be frugal in winter but it works.
Hi, yes, even small systems are worth the effort. I can't remember if I mentioned though, if using the inverter like mine, and all the panels are linked together, your system is only as good as the worst performing panel. Cheers
wow that yellow board thing is strong. what is it?
Hi, sorry for delay, been in hospital. These are waffle boards bought off ebay. Had mine for about 9 years. Usually offcuts from industrial walkways.. Cheers
Great video. I’m looking at doing something very similar with my trailer. Mine doesn’t have shocks. In your opinion do you think I would benefit from fitting some if I could ? Thanks
Thanks for the feedback. If the trailer has suspension already, I probably wouldn't mess with it by adding shocks. Chances are, you will not be going at speed on the lanes anyway. Part 2 will be done on here when I get chance, money had to go elsewhere! Cheers
@@CLSJimny4x4 great really looking forward to the next part. Yes I think you’re right. I’ll give it a go on the lanes and see how it gets on. Thanks again
