- The NYPD has warned that two people are posing as car salesmen on Facebook Marketplace only to rob potential buyers and sellers when they meet face to face. FOX 5 NY's Richard Giacovas tells us where this is happening.

You gotta look at their reviews when you buying anything anywhere. If they have 5 friends on Facebook do not meet them. It’s fake. Nobody has only 5 friends on Facebook. Also if they hiding they face in the pictures don’t meet. Never take any cash in hand. If you’re selling something expensive offer to meet at a police station. If they say no then move on to the next buyer. I sell things all the time there but I know how it works and how some people can use it for the wrong thing.
You gotta meet inside a public place then produce the goods. You can't meet on the streets or at your house.

This has been going on since Craig’s list time and people should know not to bring cash at first meeting or if you have to, then bring your buddy with a firearm or something in case being robbed

People have been getting robbed like this long before Facebook........ Don't ever give anyone your address and if you are buying or selling anything of significant value offer to meet the person in your local police department parking lot, especially if its something worth more than $1000.
