    Ive been with a tyros for years and i really liked it. Great, great tool but everythings made to sound excellent,waay too excellent. Recently i got this baby Pa and i have to say its THE machine. I feel like im part of a band playing live, and although the style design is at times, not just mediocre, but awful, i freakin LOVE this thing!

    I do a lot of stuff from the 70s. Does the PA100 have a wawa guitar. If not, can that sound be sampled in? It ocurrs to me that touch sensitivity would control the wawa effect. How would that even work? I just ordered one and I'm hoping I didn't jump to fast.

    One question I would like to ask. If I played a style say a Santana song and my mate is playing guitar using the effect processor can he change the guitar effects himself mid song using say a MIDI pedal or can the guitar effect change be saved within the style so that you maybe press a variation and it changes. Or what is the best way to do this?

    As someone who mostly uses software and mainly uses keyboards for ROM sampling live with piano, organs, and such, is there any reason why I can't just buy one of these for live performance with rock bands and various cover gigs (always in a band, never solo)? It seems like in some ways, this keyboard is more attractive for me than a lot of non-arranger keyboards out there. I don't plan on using any of the auto-accompaniment, but this has a beautiful touchscreen for quick setting changes, has built-in speakers for practicing without plugging everything in, internal power supply (hate wall warts). Plus, it even looks like it has built-in guitar amp modeling, and I will most likely have gigs this winter where I play both piano and guitar. I can't find all those features in any comparably priced keyboard that's not an arranger keyboard.

    • @shawnaebbeson7882
      @shawnaebbeson7882 Před 5 lety +2

      I know that my reply is much later than your post, but I will post anyway...
      The PA700 would make a great keyboard for live use. Using the Set List feature in the PA700 would allow one to call up their sounds instantly. You may even find that you would use the arranger feature on some songs (provided your drummer could lock to the tempo of the board consistently). The phrase pads on the PA700 could add stuff like tambourines and other ancillary sounds that many bands do not have readily available. They lock to tempo, and there is a Tap Tempo function on the PA700 to accomplish this.
      The sounds are easily better than on the Kross or Kross 2. You can add your own samples to it as well (I have the Yamaha C5 grand piano samples in mine) and the possibilities are endless with it.
      You may find yourself using it at home as a songwriting tool as well and that is really where the arranger portion shines.

      @bonnersmusic  Před 6 lety +1

      Hi Penelope, The piano sample used is the same I believe, however they may sound different because of the improved, larger speaker system in the PA1000. Both the PA1000 and PA700 have been significantly improved in place of their predecessors the PA900 and PA600. Check out the Korg UK website for more details on features and specifications. www.korg.com/uk/products/synthesizers/pa1000/ www.korg.com/uk/products/synthesizers/pa700/You can always call one of our Keyboard Specialist to discuss further on 01323 636140.

  • @shawnaebbeson7882
    @shawnaebbeson7882 Před 5 lety +1

    I purchased the Korg PA700 in September 2017 and it is a fantastic instrument. It is very deep and easily programmable. I use it almost daily for my business and it has never failed me. It easily outclasses any other arranger in the similar price range and feature set. I am going to buy another one as a backup for my main one, since I use them daily in my business.
    I believe that the sounds on this unit are easily better than the Kross 2, and compare easily to the Krome. While it is a different instrument than a dedicated synth like the Krome (or Kronos), it is very deep and I have not experienced any problems getting any sound out of it that I want.
    The sequencer is not quite as functional as a dedicated synth (it only stores one MIDI sequence in memory at a time), but all of the editing functions are there.
    The touch screen is very fast and clear. Being able the change the screen and menu colors is requested. The sound system is loud and sounds good.
    The only thing I recommend for this keyboard is to add a bit of Reverb to what you are doing on it and also to edit the global EQ to make things a bit brighter. Without doing these, the keyboard sounds a bit thin. After adding the Reverb and EQ, it really opens up the board.
    One recommendation to Korg is that they add WAV recording functionality to it. While it will record MP3 files up to 320k (I think that is what their 'highest' setting is designated as), going to lossless WAV is a better idea. The WAV recording functionality is available even on the Kross and Kross 2 synths, and they are entry level.
    Maybe Korg will also come out with an 88-key version of this unit (like they did with the Havian 30 and the PA588). Having such a model would allow the PA700 (maybe call it the PA788?) would be the centerpiece in my studio and probably many others as well.

      The new PA700 has the latest sound samples which are an improvement on the previous PA600 and PA900, however the PA900 is a higher model than the equivilant PA700. There are more features within the PA900 simply because of this, but of course the PA1000 is the latest version that includes all of these features and more. I would look at the PA1000 if you really want to see a large improvement on your PA900.

    • @martinj.a6602

      they are diff category of keyboards - Pa700 is arranger + workstation , whereas Roland Fa06 is more of a synth + workstation .
      It depends on your needs . If you need backing styles to play with - then choose the Pa700 .
      If you need more of a synth keyboard with more workstation abilitites, Roland FA06 is good option .
      Sounds preferences depends on the user's taste . I personally prefer Korg and Yamaha sounds.
      Assuming , you are from India , both the keyboards have almost same price range .

      Could listen the first demos. Yamaha has in Tyros 5 and PSR S 970 some new drum kits, what sounds big and bombastic and not really natural and follows this sound. Seems, that something what sounds like an acoustic Jazz kit, picked up with few microphones, doesn't exist or is hidden.
      In my opinion it sounds, as would they have arranged that a Roland G70 and a Tyros 5 has together a baby.

      I have PSR S970 and PA 900 side by side. PSR S970 is better expandable with sounds and customizable by buying sounds, because there is much stuff available, but has 2 right parts only.
      Korg offers always 3 right parts, you can applicate AOC on all of these parts and also set the parts to monophonic in different ways.
      Korg allows, that all sounds can be edited, Yamaha PSR S series not.

      +True Gunner Thank you for your message. The PA700 should really be compared with the Yamaha PSR-S770 rather than an entry level model like the E-453. The E453 is a good keyboard within it's price range but the PA700 is really a lot more advanced in both sound quality and features.

      @robfriedrich2822 Před 6 lety

      There are many things possible in the 1000 EUR/$ price range, but below, there are much compromises.
      When you aren't able to pay the PA 700 or PSR S 770 price, then look for something used. A PSR S 910 or as PA 500 is much cheaper, but much much better, than PSR E series or the cheaper Roland BK keyboards.

      Hi Mate ! Both are equally good . Both are high end keyboards . Yamaha has superior in-built styles , but with Korg ,, you get an option to create your own styles - hence the limits are endless. Soundwise, both are equally good as far as arrangers are considered .

      I heard, that the PA 1000 has the same keyboard like the PA 900 and guess, it's the same with the PA 600 and 700.
      I think, it would be not a good idea to replace a 900 by a 700.

    Hey can you please compare korg pa 700 and roland ea 7 ... I just can't seem to decide .. thank you!

    • @robfriedrich2822
      @robfriedrich2822 Před 6 lety

      Roland EA7 has no articulation sounds, some sounds aren't mono compatible.
      When I refer to the demos I could listen, I notice, it's Roland sound, meaning, electric guitars, synthesizer and electric pianos are great, acoustic guitars sounds like cheaper guitars and about the rest, sounds ok, but not exciting, is known from the old E80.

      Would I say. More things possible, including the expert mode, similar to Yamaha's AI fingered, meaning, by hitting 2 keys, you can play slash chords.

      PA 700 isn't less, but has other features. You can edit the sounds much more for example. Or some sounds has articulations, that you can't find in Yamaha.
      The point are your personal preferences and when you like to buy optional sounds and that the instrument is perfect supported with styles, Yamaha is much better.
      With a twin set of PA 700 and PSR S 770 (or maybe a used PA 600 instead 700), you will be amazed, what is possible.
