Since everyone's talking about how fast they have managed to learn it: here's my take. Although yes, the notes themself don't take too long to learn due to the repetetiveness and overall speed, but it's the emotion and volume that makes it actually nice to listen to. I recommend anyone to print out sheet music for this piece, as it's just a lot easier (even if you learned it with the tutorial) to play. This piece HAS to be played sensitively and carefully. The #A, C and F have got to be played very quietly and dimmed, as the melody has to be the most prominent part. This may take weeks to master the volume, let alone the rhythm. I ignored this for a while, but damn, if you actually start to look into it you can make it 10x more beautiful and not just piano playing, but BEAUTIFUL piano playing like you hear on CZcams. To me, it's totally worth it to invest some time to master volume independence as I call it. Because if the volume for all 3 parts (the F, #ACF and the melody) is the same, it just doesn't sound as good and emotional. Thank you for reading.

Oh and try to find the right speed according to you. On sheet music, it is supposed to be played "Lent", thus slowly. This video is faster than that, but everyone really has their own interpretation of it as Erik Satie didn't really be clear on how his pieces should be played, so it's for you to figure out whatever you like the most! I'd recommend anyone to listen to the interpretation of Reinbert de Leeuw, which playes it slowly and melancholicly and the "Once upon a time in Paris" when it's played rather fast, see which one you like more.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write this comment, I’m very grateful for your advices and I believe this will help me to significantly improve my playing. This was truly helpful and taught me interesting and valuable information. I’m a total beginner and self taught so this is new to me and I’m looking forward in perfecting my playing and make it less robotic. Thank you.

The trick is to practice both hands separate, and this piece is great for that since both hands alone are quite easy. Play it incredibly slow when you put hands together, and pick up the pace at your own leisure, this piece doesnt have rules so you can keep it slow if you like! If you are struggling with those long Fs while playing chords with your left hand, make F short (staccato) and practice jumping between the F and the chord, you can also use the pedals on the F to make it longer without having to hold it down. Sorry got into a bit of a frenzy there, I just love this piece.
