Today I will be doing something different
I will be showing you How to Fix MacOS Virtualbox Error “The virtual machine has terminated unexpectedly during startup with exit code 1(0x1)”
These are the commands that you will have to type into Terminal as stated in the video
Sudo su
csrutil clear
Reboot

is that right about the M1 chip is not utilising the VM ?
Hey I have a question, I deleted virtual box and got it back but that did not work, the first part in the terminal the Sudo su command worked but the csrutil clear command had no command found. Any idea why? Maybe that was the problem? I’m very new to this and just need some help. Or maybe there’s another way. Let me know
Honestly no idea, try skipping the command, and just going straight to the rest of the video.

Just a heads up for anybody having this issue virtual box, vmware or anytool that tries to run virtual machines is not supported on any m1 macs as of august 6th 2021. You have to use an older intel based mac or a windows computer to run virtual box hope this helps also great video patrick.
just another update apple removed rosetta 2 support for m1 macs so people who own m1 macs are SOL
Edit 1: Rosetta 2 is installable but the apps that run on it some of them are stable enough to work with.

Hey Saif I have to use Virtualbox for my assignment and it keeps terminating at startup and I have Mac with M1 chip. I there any alternative to run ubuntu?
@@anjaleejayasooriya208 so virtual box can’t be run on m1 chip on mac, they haven’t released a version for that yet. Unfortunately. You will need to try to get a windows computer and or a different Mac

This did not work. I get a message stating “Failed to acquire the virtual box COM object. The application will now terminate.” What are IPC daemon permissions?!

try to do a headless start, a headless start can be found by clicking the arrow pointing downward right beside the start.

I am getting the same error
You need to boot the Mac in recovery mode, go to terminal then execute the csrutil clear command then reboot into normal mode
