Replace Tywin with Tyrion. Tywin was cold and brutal but not half as intelligent as people give him credit for. The majority of his success came from luck and Tyrion's devotion to his family. If not for Tyrion, Jaime and Cersei would have been found out way sooner and the battle of the blackwater would have been lost and lost hard. I also suspect that Lord Varys had some influence on Tywin and keeping him a bit more reasonable.
She's not cruel, she tells it like it is. She got straight to the point and didn't care if someone's feelings got hurt by what she said, because she just pointed out their shortcomings. Pound for pound, she was the most respected and most fearless person in Westeros.

They literally had it all laid out, they should have just left both those stories in their original forms. The shows tainted the original content.

In sea of bad writing decisions in these later seasons, the one that strangely pisses me off the most is how Jon never once offers Longclaw back to Lady Lyanna. He offers it back to Jorah, a man he honestly barely knows and who has long since lost the right to its ownership, on the grounds that it belongs back in the Mormont family, but never to Lyanna who is not only the House's leader but beyond deserving. The writers really did just hate the female characters that much didn't they.
