Worked well on my husband also. Had to use a 50 setting to get him to put clothes in the hamper instead of on the floor. Used 100 each time he asked to go fishing. Now he doesn't want to go fishing at all and works around the house. I love the Educator!

For those wondering it’s a Mini educator ET-300. YOU CAN NOT THROW THIS ON YOUR DOG AND EXPECT RESULTS! You are the trainer and handler you have to know how to utilize this tool. Otherwise you will just put fear into your dog. Please do the work with basic obedience training

Pet Educator from E collar technologies. I’ve had mine for 4 years and it still is working perfect. It’s been in the lake, the ocean, down pours, Florida humidity etc. the last brand I bought shorted out after a little over a year after the remote got wet in rain a few times.

I use the mini educator, I love the ability to reduce its level to 4-5 but that's it. The ergonomics of the controller is rubbish. The multi dog function sucks.
I have an E collar for my Rottie. It doesnt shock. Just vibrations & loud beeps. I found it on Amazon. It works to keep his focus.

People are probably asking because a lot of collars offered out there on Amazon or eBay do not work 100% like some others do having a cheap collar vs expensive collar will indeed make a difference because one of them actually works while the other works sometimes

This is what I think of with all dog training tools. If you aren’t consistent and learn the techniques, you will not get the result. Every dog has their own quirks. If you don’t put in the time and effort, you will not see the results you want. It is your training and durability as much as the dog’s

Did ANYBODY understand it’s much more about HOW you use an e-collar rather than get all hung up about which designer name is on your dog.
If you can’t train your own dog, what makes you think you can buy your dog’s behavior. E-collar or not.
A properly set up e-collar does not hurt a dog-they are designed to get their attention.
Do your own research-learn about e-collars, read reviews, talk to other users.
If your against e-collars - DON’T USE ONE! Simple.
Decide if you are willing to be a responsible pet owner and devote the TIME to train one.

Point made. But I'm not even going for brands. What I want to know is what should I look for when buying a good e collar?
I'm considering on buying this for home training. My dog continues to jump on guests and i can't stop it. He won't do it to me but he will do it for new people. He's already too smart for the house leash or if I'm near. Trying to train my guests is not effective either. He's like a bad kid that knows it's wrong only when I'm around basically. Lol will this e collar work? If so, what's the best method to do this the right way after getting them used to the e collar?
I just want one that has a way to set the range like if my dog goes more than so many feet away from me then it shocks them

A cop once told me that e-collars should not just be sold to anyone. You should be taught how to properly use it in a class room setting, be thoroughly tested to assure that you learned how to properly use it, and be certified before you buy one! I wholeheartedly agree because the e-collar is so easily misused and in the hands of an idiot, it can become an instrument of torture!
100% agreed. No average Joe should be able to order one of these on Amazon and be able to light their dog up. People using them wrong give e collars such a bad rep.

I thought an E Collar was more for behavior issues. Like excessive barking, snapping or running away. You still need to train the dog.

So what brand. I can’t seem to find a recommendation on a trusted product. That’s all I’m asking for. Last one I bought had a remote that wouldn’t sync correctly. I’m not putting anything in my dog that doesn’t work correctly right out of the box.
Hey I'm a trainer and I use E collars regularly, I recommend " educator" and " dogtra" I side more with educator but that is prefferance. They are weather proof and the control for the collar floats.

Edit : he trains from what I know German shepherds and big dogs sometimes small dogs or very young dogs he has e collar but it's really bad and he told me about needing a good one that why I want to buy him one
