Functionally the pose helps him not get obliterated on the table top by making him a bit easier to hide. I would have loved a big chungus of a primarch too, but it's nice to have a guy with no guns having a slim silhouette
I have always found painting models in subassemblies easier and better than painting the model full assembled

I like that he’s small and squatting it’s easier to hide him. Magnus and morty really suffer from not being able to be hidden
I mean it makes sense, he’s crouched over but if he wasn’t he looks about the size of mortarion who also gets height from floating, and then magnus was supposed to be the biggest primarchs to begin with
He looks like a premium Bloodthirster, unlike the other Daemon Princes who had a distinct look.than their patron's Greater Daemons.

Was kinda hoping he would get his own bigger base. Feel like a demon primach would be super-heavy tank size.
And bit late, but probably would not have built him 100% before painting. Or least leave him in 2 halfs, etc. Easy enough to prime his top / bottom. Then just a quick glue when done.

Honestly when the model has that many hard to reach spots I paint pieces and then put them together I know not the way people normally do it but honestly I think it's easier
i have one sitting on my shelf, unbuilt. i think im gonna paint piece by piece then assemble bc this guy has tons of little dips n crevices that i cant get a brish down

Honestly my only gripe about the model is that its too static. Compare his pose with the bloodthirster pose. Angron should look like hes actively in a battle, not just posing on an outcropping.

I can't stand what they did to his posture, its ridiculous theyd cover all his cool details by having him hunched over. I almost considered passing on it but after seeing a kit bash fix him up some I ended up buying one.

Very carefully! You can't really build it in sections, so this was the best way to do it.

I built Angron without the armor plates and not glued to his base and it makes it way easier.

All I can see is all the sprue connection points and mold lines not cleaned up. Only after starting at if for a good 5 mins was I able to pull myself away from this and listen to you describe him.
Hey, sorry about that we have very little window to assemble these models. We don’t get them from Games Workshop and we still do try to keep the content going out on release weekend to help everybody. Unfortunately, they’re gonna be pretty quickly assembled to be honest. :)

As weird as this sounds i dont like his wings. For some reason I never picture daemon angron with wings. I live mortarions mothish wings and magnus’ wings are gorgeous but i dunno bout angy
I think the wings are fine, if not a bit too close together. That face though. Is hideous.
You should have undercoated the model black or what ever primer colour you wanted while all the parts that are still in the spers frist,you only made it harder to paint now by glueing the model together like that...very hard to get into and paint the knooks and crannys of the model to paint...just saying
