No, the timing was great this year, the corn “as high as an elephant’s eye” and heading into the final stretch of the season. Heard they had a bad storm, that corn only looked good after a lot of work to prop the stalks up. Farming is a tricky and risky endeavor.

@@Vyc74 I think your missing the point there VYC74. Little league's and High Schools do this all ready in corn fields all across the entire flyover states already. It's where a lot of these pro's come from in the first place as kids and reminds them AND the fans as to why they play the game and where they came from. I am not much of a baseball fan, my wife is, I catch it here and there. I get into the playoffs. This was the first game I've watched start to finish since the last world series and it was absolutely amazing. Everything about was super interesting. From the uniforms to the field, the aesthetics, the old wooden look. It actually took me back to a time of old baseball movies. Much better looking than gaudy, enormous advertising in a sea of giant boring, multi colored goo. How awesome was it to see so many balls end up in the corn! Think about it, a field of corn was one of the stars of the whole experience. And the game, WOW! You couldn't write a better storyline with excitement and intrigue end to end.
When the movie came out, if you're of that generation who all flocked to see it, this was a pretty awesome tribute to the special memories of so many. It was a simple movie to make out in an Iowa corn field. No explosions, car chases, shootouts. Just a story, in some ways much like a theater stage play that required the characters to deliver the impact. And that it did. Amazing job.

I was fortunate to view the game on a large screen with surround sound.... I could hear the corn move! The photography and mother natures stunning "on fire" sunset as a background and the absence of concrete steel and glass. The short features inserted into the game preview and within the game were as good as the other big winter game. It was a class act!!
